Leader McCarthy Recognizes Crime Victims of Illegal Aliens

Last week, the House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy gave a 10-minute floor speech which included a long (but necessarily incomplete) list of Americans killed by illegal aliens.

Of course, every crime committed by an illegal foreigner should have been prevented by immigration enforcement, but wasn’t. A top job of government is to protect the citizens from foreign enemies, and America’s open borders make that responsibility an ongoing joke. Politicians used to brag that America was a “nation of laws” but you never hear that phrase any more.

Plus, crime is a job some Americans will do, so we needn’t import foreigners to do the robbing and murdering for us.

Back to McCarthy, he began his remarks on the House floor with a denunciation of the Democrats’ outright refusal to negotiate with the president on funding for the border wall — even though top Dems like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer voted for the Secure Fence Act of 2006.

Incidentally, McCarthy is not the first member of the legislature to remember persons killed by illegal aliens: on Thursday, Senator Joni Ernst paid tribute to Sarah Root, just 21, who was killed by a drunk-driving illegal three years ago. Both the Republican-run House and Senate have held hearings in the last four years focused on the human consequences of crime caused by open borders. And Donald Trump’s 2016 GOP Convention heard from several crime victim families.

Below, on January 15, Rep. Mo Brooks recalled several Alabamians lost in crimes committed by illegal aliens.

McCarthy spoke about the crime issue starting at around 3:20:

AUDIO version here:

LEADER KEVIN McCARTHY: There has been 266,000 criminal aliens arrested in the last two years. This includes charges and convictions of 100,000 assaults, nearly 30,000 sex crimes and 4000 violent killings. Three hundred Americans die every week from heroin, and more than 90 percent of heroin comes from across the southern border. And roughly 10,000 children are being smuggled into the US every year to be sold for human trafficking.

And they are celebrating a status quo that leaves 700,000 DACA-designated individuals unsure about their future. It was the best display of politics that this country is sick and tired of seeing. Zero-sum politics and nothing ever changes. Well I’d like to spend some time and reflect on Americans and their families who may not have been celebrating the status quo preserved by this majority:

Senator Ernst Remembers Sarah Root, a Victim of Illegal Alien Crime

On January 31, 2016, Sarah Root was killed by drunk driving illegal alien Edwin Mejia. She was just 21, and had graduated from Bellevue University the day before.

On the three-year anniversary of Sarah’s death, Senator Joni Ernst spoke on the Senate floor about the preventable loss, as well as a reintroduction of Sarah’s Law, proposed legislation that would prohibit federal immigration officials from releasing any illegal alien who has committed a violent crime against an American citizen

On Third Anniversary of Her Death, Senator Ernst Re-Introduces Sarah’s Law, Senator Ernst Press Release, Jan 31 2019

Ernst: “We have an obligation to the Root family, and to the American people, to ensure that no person falls victim to this injustice again”

WASHINGTON – On January 31, 2016, the night of her graduation, Sarah Root, a twenty-one year-old Iowan from Council Bluffs, was struck and killed in Omaha, Neb., by Edwin Mejia, who entered the country illegally and was driving drunk – three times over the legal limit.

Today, on the third anniversary of her death, Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), along with Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Ben Sasse (R-NE), Deb Fischer (R-NE) and 11 of their colleagues, re-introduced legislation in honor of Sarah, to allow federal law enforcement to detain illegal immigrants criminally charged with killing or seriously injuring another person.

“It is wholly unacceptable that someone who is here illegally and is responsible for the death of another human being is not considered an enforcement priority nor is detained by ICE. We have an obligation to the Root family, and to the American people, to ensure that no person falls victim to this injustice again.  Sarah’s Law brings us one step closer to restoring justice in our broken immigration system by allowing ICE to detain and hold these criminals accountable,” said Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA).

“The tragic death of Sarah Root three years ago and the ongoing search for her killer underscore the serious attention border security and immigration enforcement require in America. Sarah’s life was cut short by an undocumented immigrant who disregarded the rule of law and decided to get behind the wheel after drinking.  The Obama Administration refused to take custody of Sarah’s killer because it didn’t consider him a priority, allowing him to disappear into the shadows. The Roots have been robbed of their daughter, and at least for now, they have been robbed of justice.  Our legislation, named in Sarah’s memory, will ensure that those who harm or kill Americans will be taken into custody and removed while also ensuring that victims and their families get the information they deserve from the government as they pursue justice,” said Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA).

“Edwin Mejia’s mugshot shouldn’t be on a most wanted poster — Edwin Mejia should be in jail, serving hard time for the life he took and the pain he left behind,” said Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE). “Sarah’s Law is common-sense legislation that Sarah and her family deserve to have signed into law. Congress should waste no time sending this legislation to the President’s desk for his signature.” . . .

Crime Victims of Illegal Aliens Are Remembered on House Floor

Rep Mo Brooks (R-AL) took to the House floor on Tuesday to speak about the crime victims of illegal aliens, a subject that never gets enough attention. America has plenty of home-grown criminals and doesn’t need to import more via open borders.

Below, Rep. Brooks listed some of the many preventable deaths caused by illegal aliens in the US.

One of the crimes was familiar, the deaths of Alabama residents Tad Mattle and his girlfriend Leigh Anna Jimmerson who died when Tad’s car was rear-ended by a drunk-driving illegal. The killer was a repeat offender (pictured in the inset of photo at right) who should have been deported after several DUIs but wasn’t.

Here’s the text version of Rep. Brooks’ speech:

Brooks Slams Democrats in House Floor Speech for “Aiding and Abetting” Illegal Alien Killers January 15, 2019, Press Release

Washington, DC — Tuesday, Congressman Mo Brooks (AL-05) delivered a passionate House Floor speech describing the lives and deaths of people killed on American soil by illegal aliens and challenging Democrats in Congress who protect illegal aliens to, instead, help protect American lives.

The full text of Congressman Brooks’ speech follows:

Mr. Speaker, in 2018, more than 2,000 illegal aliens were apprehended by federal law enforcement officers for homicides committed on American soil.

That is roughly 2,000 dead in just one year!  And that does not count some number of the 70,000 Americans whose lives are snuffed out each year by poisonous drugs, much of which is shipped illegally into America across our porous southern border!

Americans would know about these horrific killings if the media diverted just a fraction of the time it spends on extolling illegal aliens and attacking our brave border patrol and ICE officers and agents to telling the stories of American lives needlessly ended by illegal aliens.

Today I share a few stories about those who died solely because of illegal aliens and our porous southern border.

Louise Sollowin was a beloved mother, wife, and grandmother. Louise spent 50 years helping her sister fire up the oven at Omaha, Nebraska’s Orsi’s Italian Bakery, where she worked well into her 80s.

In 2013, after 93 years of life, Louise was brutally raped and beaten to death by an illegal alien. To make matters even more horrific, Louise’s daughter found her bleeding, battered and dying mother with a naked illegal alien passed out on top of her.[1]

In 2010 in Houston, Texas, 14-year-old Shatavia Anderson, was shot in the chest and killed by two illegal aliens. Shatavia loved her family and loved talking on the phone. She proclaimed that one day she was [quote] “gonna be somebody.”[2] [end quote]  Shatavia was robbed of that dream by illegal aliens.

In July 2018 in my home town of Huntsville, Alabama, two drug cartel related illegal aliens took Oralia Mendoza and her 13-year-old granddaughter, Mariah Lopez, from their home in the dark of night. Oralia was stabbed to death while her teenage granddaughter, Mariah, was forced to watch. Later, and in order to eliminate a witness, the illegal alien drug cartel members then beheaded Mariah and abandoned her body in the woods. Mariah’s decaying body was not found for weeks. Mariah was a special needs student at Challenger Middle School. Her teachers described her as a [quote] “sweet little girl” who “had a lot of friends.” [3] [end quote]

I have a Washington staff member, Michaila Lindow, who well-remembers being baby-sat as a young child by family friend Tad Mattle.

In 2009 in Huntsville, Alabama, then 19-year-old Tad Mattle was driving home with his girlfriend from a church social. While stopped at a red light, an illegal alien who was fleeing the scene of yet another crime, and whose blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit, rear-ended Tad Mattle’s car. This illegal alien had three prior DUIs. Tad Mattle’s car exploded on impact, tragically killing Tad Mattle and his girlfriend.

Tad, the oldest of 3 children, enjoyed making music and served as percussion leader in the Grissom High School Marching Band. Three days before he was killed, Tad was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he planned to pursue an engineering degree.[4] Continue reading this article

Murder of Officer Singh Was “Preventable” — Made Possible by California Sanctuary Policy

Americans used to say we were are “nation of laws” but you rarely hear that sentiment any more because it isn’t the case. Instead, elites have decided that open borders and diversity are better values. Nobody ever voted for disorder, but that is what we have.

Today’s example is the entirely preventable murder of California police officer, Ronil Singh (pictured below), a legal immigrant who wanted to serve this nation.

Choosing to pursue his American dream in California was unfortunate, because in October 2017, Governor Jerry Brown signed SB 54 into law to make his state a sanctuary for illegal alien criminals, from job thieves to gangsters and drunk drivers.

As a result, the man who shot Officer Singh — Mexican illegal alien Gustavo Perez Arriaga — was a two-time drunk driver and gangster who was protected by California’s pro-criminal laws.

An expert on the subject of policing, Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christianson, said the murder was preventable (from KCRA report, Sheriff blasts sanctuary law, says Newman officer’s death was preventable):

SHERIFF ADAM CHRISTIANSON: This could have been preventable. Under SB 54 in California, based on two arrests for DUI, and other active warrants this criminal has out there, law-enforcement would have been prevented — prohibited — from sharing any information with ICE about this criminal gang member.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is not how you protect a community. Law enforcement was prohibited because of sanctuary laws, and that led to the encounter with Officer Singh.

I am suggesting the outcome could have been different if law enforcement wasn’t restricted, prohibited, or had their hands tied because of political interference.

California is a free-for-all illegal alien crime zone where foreign criminals are protected, and lawful citizens leave home at their own risk.

Here’s a report from Fox News that includes Sheriff Christianson but not his remark that the crime was “preventable.”

California: Cambodian Killer Fears Deportation

Here’s an update on an illegal alien sob story: the subject is a Cambodian, Borey Ai, who killed a man during a liquor store robbery. I reported on the case in August: Refugee Criminals Are Sad about Facing Deportation.

Ai originally got a life sentence for second-degree murder — so the judge and jury took the crime seriously despite the perp being a teenager — but spent only 20 years in San Quentin, since this is California after all.

On Saturday, the San Jose Mercury News brought us the news of Ai’s worries in a sympathetic front-page article — as if Americans should disagree with deporting foreign killers.

Cambodian immigrants fear more ICE raids on the horizon, San Jose Mercury News, December 22, 2018

It’s only been a few days since an Omni Air flight carrying 36 deportees, rounded up and detained by ICE earlier this year, landed in Cambodia. But already, immigrant communities in the Bay Area and across California are bracing themselves for more.

[. . .]

Borey “Peejay” Ai was born in a refugee camp in Thailand to Cambodian parents who fled genocide by the Khmer Rouge regime.

On the day he was freed from San Quentin — having served 20 years for the 1996 slaying of a Berryessa liquor store owner when he was 14 — ICE was waiting outside. Ai, who became one of the youngest people in California to be given a life sentence for murder, spent nearly two years in ICE detention. The state Supreme Court on Monday blocked Gov. Jerry Brown’s attempt to issue him a pardon, which could have kept him in the country. Ai’s case still sits in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. But deportation looms.

“I’m in limbo,” he said. “I’m not moving forward. I’m constantly thinking about my vulnerability to being deported.”

During his time in prison, Ai became a state certified counselor for domestic violence victims through a group called Guiding Rage into Power, which gave him a job after his release. He’s worked extensively with Kid CAT, a rehabilitative program at San Quentin praised for its focus on self improvement through education and counseling. Ai is also part of the Asian Prisoner Support Committee in Oakland, which works to rehabilitate former convicts as they re-enter society.

As he helps community members facing deportation, he deals with the reality that he, too, can be deported at any moment.

“I think about that everyday,” he said. “Everyday since I got out it’s been on my mind.”

Why Are Residents’ Negative Views about Illegal Immigration Disregarded?

Tucker Carlson had an important question for his liberal guest on Friday: why is it that foreigners are permitted to create chaos in the nation where they land and make life more difficult for locals? He can ask that question because thousands of caravanster hispanics from Central America are camped out in Tijuana, Mexico, annoying fellow hispanics, so the usual leftist yap about “racism” doesn’t work.

The situation shines a light on the excessive value given to victimhood in modern times. It is certainly justifiable to help people who have been made victims by crime or acts of nature, but it’s downright crazy to harm the innocent to advance the case of whiney demanding lawbreakers.

Tijuana residents don’t deserve illegal alien chaos — and neither do Americans.

The 6000 Hondurans etc. now living in tents in Tijuana have caused school closure and an uptick in crime, including breaking and entering.

Fox News Transcript, December 14, 2018

TUCKER CARLSON: Well, since it absorbed thousands of unskilled migrants from Central America who came up in that Caravan, Tijuana, Mexico should be well on its way to becoming one of the world’s richest cities. At least, you think so based on what you hear every day or read in The Washington Post.

But surprisingly, many people in Tijuana are upset. We’ve interviewed a couple of times an elected official, a municipal delegate called Genaro Lopez. We talked to him the other night. And he suggests that the Caravan has not actually been that good for Tijuana itself.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GENARO LOPEZ MORENO, TIJUANA DELEGATE: They’re still here. Problems are still going on. There’s been like 280 arrests. Before, it was solely for drug possession and being drunk in the streets. Now, it’s for breaking and entering into homes. People have even made citizen’s arrest of (ph) them. And things aren’t very nice here and the neighborhoods is tired of them, the merchants and the schools.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

CARLSON: So, what exactly is the matter with these people in Mexico? Why don’t they like this Caravan?

Ethan Bearman is a California radio host and he joins us tonight. Ethan, thanks a lot for coming on. So, I guess–

ETHAN BEARMAN, LIBERAL RADIO SHOW HOST: Thanks, Tucker.

CARLSON: –the reason we keep going back to this topic, and let me just stipulate, as I have before with you, that I – I like immigration. I like immigrants. I give every person in the Caravan the benefit of the doubt. I think most really do want to come here for a better life.

What infuriates me is that nobody gives the residents of any country into which immigrants for (ph) the benefit of the doubt. All of them are dismissed immediately as bigots if they don’t like it.

What’s so striking is that nobody in the Left is saying anything about the reaction of Mexican citizens in Tijuana to this Caravan, who are sounding like Donald Trump, all of a sudden. Why are people ignoring this? Continue reading this article

Baltimore: Catholic Church Issues IDs for Illegal Aliens, and Police Recognize Them

Vaticrats have long had delusions of governance, extending even to the United States. In fact, it’s not the first time the anti-borders church has handed out fake identification for illegal aliens whom the church hopes will be suitably grateful: last spring it was a Dallas catholic church handing out rudimentary fake IDs.

In years past, the Vaticrats have aided lawless Mexico in handing out its worthless matricular card to aid the foreign flock to steal jobs and benefits. So the current criminal-aiding behavior is not an aberration.

Local TV station WMAR presented a totally positive segment about the Catholic ID cards ending deportations and making the city more welcoming:

It should be remembered that many Catholic citizens reject their church’s unduly friendly policy toward illegal aliens:

Below, the Baltimore Sun front-paged the fake ID story on Thursday:

Why is the hostile Catholic church still tax exempt when it acts against American citizens’ safety as well as the nation’s law and sovereignty?

Baltimore police to recognize Catholic Church-issued ID cards for immigrants, Baltimore Sun, October 10, 2018

The Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore will issue identity cards to undocumented immigrants and other vulnerable people that the Baltimore Police Department has agreed to recognize — a program activists hope will make people more willing to cooperate with law enforcement.

Mayor Catherine Pugh and Archbishop William E. Lori joined church and community leaders Wednesday at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Canton, which is home to a large immigrant congregation and will run a pilot of the card system.

Pugh said that if the card gives even one person the confidence to report a crime, it will be a success.

“No one should become a victim and be afraid to call the police,” Pugh said.

The program is the city’s latest effort to aid immigrants, whom city leaders see having a significant role boosting the health of some neighborhoods.

The Police Department plays only a minimal role in enforcing immigration laws — which are a federal matter — and in March the city approved $200,000 in funding for lawyers to represent people facing deportation.

Advocates for immigrant communities say people without legal status in the United States are reluctant to come forward as victims or witnesses of crime. They say helping immigrants get an identity card from a trusted institution — the Catholic Church — will make people more comfortable talking to officers. . . .

To qualify for a card, an applicant will need to have been a member of a parish for three months, present other identity documents and have a witness testify to their identity. The cards will be linked to parish membership records, but there will not be a specific database of cardholders, which could guard against any future attempt by federal immigration officials to track cardholders. (Continues)

Finally, all this irreligious behavior is not winning the Vaticrats any points among US followers: a brief Pew report, 7 facts about American Catholics (Oct 10, 2018), includes this fascinating item about the number of people leaving the church:

Catholicism has experienced a greater net loss due to religious switching than has any other religious tradition in the U.S. Overall, 13% of all U.S. adults are former Catholics – people who say they were raised in the faith, but now identify as religious “nones,” as Protestants, or with another religion. By contrast, 2% of U.S. adults are converts to Catholicism – people who now identify as Catholic after having been raised in another religion (or no religion). This means that there are 6.5 former Catholics in the U.S. for every convert to the faith.  No other religious group analyzed in the 2014 Religious Landscape Study has experienced anything close to this ratio of losses to gains via religious switching.

MS-13 Victim Mom Is Killed near Daughter’s Memorial

Evelyn Rodriguez had organized a commemoration of her daughter Kayla’s murder two years ago, but was struck down by a neighbor who torn down the memorial. Kayla Cuevas and her friend Nisa Mickens, both high school students, were killed by MS-13 gangsters using machetes and baseball bats.

President Trump invited parents of illegal alien crime victims to his State of the Union speech, including Evelyn and her husband Freddy.

Rep. Peter King, whose district includes Long Island, was on his way to a memorial and arrived at a crime scene:

Remember that President Obama knowingly admitted MS-13 gang members to America with his reckless policy of open borders to Central American aliens. It was totally predictable that when Obama allowed many thousands to Centrals to escape gang violence in their homelands, the gangsters would accompany them to the US. As a result, there are an estimated 10,000 MS-13 gangsters in the US according to a 2017 Justice Department fact sheet.

Woman who fatally hit mom of MS-13 victim was allegedly trashing memorial site, New York Post, September 15, 2018

An irate Long Island woman who fatally struck the grieving mother of an MS-13 victim sparked the deadly confrontation by trashing a memorial for the dead teen, the mom’s friends told The Post on Saturday.

The mother, Evelyn Rodriguez, who attended President Trump’s State of the Union Address earlier this year to bring attention to the slaying of her 16-year-old daughter, Kayla Cuevas, and Cuevas’ friend, Nisa Mickens, 15, was setting up flowers, balloons and photos on Ray Court in Brentwood for a vigil to mark the second anniversary of Cuevas’ death. The girls’ bodies were found in a nearby wooded area.

The angry woman, who has not been arrested or identified by authorities, had been trying for months to sell the vacant home adjacent to the memorial, and apparently blamed mourners who frequented the area for her inability to unload the property, mourners claimed.

She popped balloons, stole photos of the dead teen, dismantled a table, grabbed votive candles and threw the whole lot in the back of her white SUV, pals of Cuevas’ family said.

Rodriguez, 50, and her husband, Freddy, confronted the woman in an attempt to get back their property, the friends said. But instead, the woman tried to drive away and ended up hitting Rodriguez, police said.

The woman, who could not be reached for comment, stayed at the scene and called 911, said Suffolk County cops.

“They were just trying to retrieve their daughter’s picture, that’s what happened,” said family friend Noel Vega, 41. “How can somebody be so malicious and hostile over a memorial? On the anniversary of the day they found her dead daughter back in those woods. It’s bulls–t.” (Continues)

Missing for a Month, Mollie Tibbetts Is Dead, Murdered by an Illegal Alien Mexican

Our borders are so open to the criminal scum of the world that even a small town in Iowa is not safe from them. Mollie certainly thought it wouldn’t be dangerous to take a run near her home, but a foreigner followed her in his car, kidnapped and killed her.

Below, Mexican illegal Cristhian Rivera is under arrest for the murder of college student Mollie Tibbetts.

I’ve been followed while on foot by strange men in cars, and it is unnerving — they can run you down if they want.

Every crime committed by an illegal alien is a preventable one; the fact that so many Americans have been killed by foreigners who shouldn’t be here shows how little elites and the political class care about public safety. Now Mollie’s family must join a tragic group of parents and relatives who have lost loved ones to illegal alien crime — like the parents who spoke at Donald Trump’s nominating convention.

Agnes Gibboney, who lost her son to illegal alien crime, said Mollie’s murder by an illegal alien was “unacceptable.”

It looks like local police did good investigative work to find the killer. Unfortunately, Iowa does not have the death penalty. Killer Cristhian Rivera claims he “blacked out” at the moment of the actual murder, so the insanity defense is likely. He will probably be portrayed as the victim, as happened to a degree with the killer of Kate Steinle.

Another important question is the employment of Rivera — which curiously is unspecified now — where was he working? If America had universal E-verify to weed out illegal alien workers, their numbers would drop like a rock, since American jobs are the only reason the invaders are here.

Illegal immigrant charged with Mollie Tibbetts’ murder, New York Post, August 21, 2018

An “illegal alien” is in custody for the murder of Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts, according to police officials.

Cristhian Rivera, 24, was charged Tuesday in Poweshiek County after being brought in without incident by local cops.

Investigators spoke to him at length about what happened on July 18 — when he allegedly abducted Tibbetts — and revealed what he said during an afternoon press conference.

According to officials, Rivera told cops that he saw the young woman running, circled around a few times in his car, and eventually approached her.

He got out an ran up behind Tibbetts and accidentally spooked her — causing the 20-year-old to panic, officials said.

Rivera told cops that he then blacked out, and didn’t come to again until after Tibbetts was already dead — at the intersection in rural Poweshiek County where investigators found her body.

Cops would not say when the young college student was left there.

Rick Rahn, special agent in charge at the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, told reporters that federal officials were able to confirm Rivera’s status as an illegal immigrant after he was brought into custody on Monday.

“He’s an illegal alien, been in this area for four to seven years,” Rahn said.

Investigators were able to link Rivera to the missing person case after catching his black Chevy Malibu on surveillance camera the day Tibbetts disappeared. He was allegedly tailing her as she ran.

“He followed her around,” Rahn said. “Circled around a couple times, located her, then began to interface with her.” (Continues)

Judge Declares Illegal Alien Families to Be Reconnected

When Judge Dana Sabraw demanded a couple weeks ago that the government reunify invader adults with their apparent children, it seemed an impossible task. But on Friday, the judge said the deed was accomplished to the degree possible.

Judge: Border family reunification ‘has been completed’, By Stephen Dinan, Washington Times, July 28, 2018

The judge overseeing the chaos from President Trump’s zero-tolerance border policy gave the government good marks for its efforts to reunify families, saying that for the parents the government has control over “that process has been completed.” [. . .]

He praised the government for meeting his strict deadlines, set in June, that forced agencies to scramble to reunite young children with parents by July 10, and the rest of the juveniles by this week.

He said the government managed to reconnect 1,820 children.

“The government can only reunify families over which it has control. and it has control over the families, the parents and children, in its custody,” Judge Sabraw said. [. . .]

This news may come as a blow to newspaper designers who have used emotive photos of foreign family reunifications to spice up their front pages while bashing President Trump as a meanie for enforcing immigration laws.

Funny, I don’t recall ever seeing a photo of an America victim of illegal alien crime on a newspaper front page — no sympathetic picture of shooting victim Kate Steinle, the murdered Bologna family or high school student Jamiel Shaw.

Below are a couple examples of alien sob story porn from the last few days — there were many others. And keep in mind, American citizen, that if you dragged your kid along to a crime, the government would confine you separately also.

Victim of Illegal Alien Crime Says She Wants America’s Government to Fight for Citizens

Courtney Hacking is not happy to see all the positive media coverage about illegal aliens bringing their kids as a ticket to cross the border because an illegal caused the death of her husband and two children.

Neil Cavuto interviewed her on Saturday, when there were demonstrations in American cities supporting the “rights” of illegal aliens not to be separated from their kids — an issue that the liberal press has pounced on hard.

Describing the crash that killed three members of her family, she noted, “On that day, my husband had picked up our son and daughter from the babysitter’s house and he was on his way home driving down 78 which was under construction at the time, two lanes, and an illegal immigrant fell asleep at the wheel. We’re not really sure what happened, but he swerved into my husband’s lane and it ended up being a head-on collision, and the van actually ended up on top of my husband’s car, and he died and those two children died.”

Unsurprisingly, Hacking supports strong enforcement of immigration laws. Answering Cavuto’s question of what she wants to see done, she stated, “I want to see our country be our country. . . At the moment I’m seeing our citizens being treated with less respect and common courtesy than illegal immigrants. We have people fighting and protesting for immigration policies and allowing them to stay, but nobody fights for us anymore, and I would like to see our government fight for us.”

Here’s an article from last year about the tiny sentence that the illegal alien killer of her husband and children got:

Texas woman blasts 2-year term for illegal immigrant who killed husband, 2 kids in crash, Fox News, October 7, 2017

A Texas woman is criticizing the two-year sentence an illegal immigrant received for killing her husband and two youngest children in a car crash last year.

Courtney Hacking told “Fox & Friends” Saturday that the sentence in a Texas state court doesn’t compensate her for the loss of her 36-year-old husband Peter, a volunteer firefighter, 4-year-old daughter Ellie and 22-month-old son Grayson in the accident.

“People think his crime and his punishment seem to fit because he was an illegal immigrant,” she said, referring to Mexican Margarito Quintero Rosales who pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in connection with the crash. “But to me being illegal in the country was a crime on its own so I don’t understand how he did get only two years.”

She added, “To me I take it offensively. I take it personally.”

Cops say Quintero swerved into Hacking’s vehicle which was coming the other way when he fell asleep at the wheel, WFAA-TV reported.

The sentencing took place Sept. 29. The sentence was the maximum under state law, the station reported.

Quintero has been jailed since the accident. He will complete the sentence in about another 110 days.

He is serving that sentence as he serves a two-year federal sentence for reentering the U.S. illegally after being deported. Court records show he was charged with that crime after the accident and sentenced last month.

Quintero was also arrested after the crash for having no driver’s license, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Peter Hacking was driving Ellie and Grayson home after picking them up at the babysitter, according to the paper.

“I want our laws enforced,” Hacking said on “Fox & Friends.”

“The message needs to be put across to them that when you come to this country you need to do it legally because when they come here all they’re getting is…they’re committing crimes, they’re getting a slap on the wrist and they’re going back to Mexico or they’re going back to whatever country they came from.”

Her husband was a legal immigrant from England, she said.

Hacking is now caring for her other four children alone.

Federal Judge Complains about His Lucrative Job Sentencing Illegal Aliens

Here’s a new twist on the old sob story genre: instead of an illegal alien whining about America defending its sovereignty, the subject is immigration judge Robert Brack who gripes about separating families, as headlined on Saturday’s Los Angeles Times front page:

Wait, who’s separating families? What about the perps who choose to break US law with the purpose of stealing American jobs?

Even if illegals don’t directly rip off the employment of a US citizen, the presence of millions of foreigners drives down wages overall, as we know from the principle of supply and demand. As immigration George Borjas reported in “Immigration and the American Worker,” a 2013 CIS paper, “An increase in the number of workers leads to lower wages.”

Illegal immigration is not a victimless crime, and American workers are the ones who suffer. Any illegal who is working at a US job has committed theft, and should be locked up.

Brack complains long and loud about sentencing illegal aliens, but he soldiers on, perhaps because of receiving a generous paycheck of $201,100 a year as a federal judge from the taxpayers.

Below, the man whom the Christian Science Monitor called “America’s busiest judge.” in 2014.

The article was also printed in the San Diego paper:

Crackdown on immigrants takes a toll on federal judge: ‘I have presided over a process that destroys families’, San Diego Union-Tribune, May 24, 2018

Day in, day out, immigrants shuffle into Judge Robert Brack’s courtroom, shackled at the wrist and ankle, to be sentenced for the crime of crossing the border.

The judge hands down sentences with a heavy heart. Since he joined the federal bench in 2003, Brack has sentenced some 15,000 defendants, the vast majority of them immigrants with little or no criminal record.

“See, I have presided over a process that destroys families for a long time, and I am weary of it,” said Brack one day in his chambers in Las Cruces. “And I think we as a country are better than this.”

Brack’s court in rural southern New Mexico is swollen with immigration cases, the migrants brought to his courtroom by the dozen. They exchange guilty pleas for “time served” sentences, usually not more than two months on the first or second offense. They leave his court as felons.

For years, federal authorities in this area along the New Mexico border have taken a distinctively hard-line approach to enforcing immigration law, pursuing criminal charges rather than handling cases administratively. Essentially, authorities here have already been carrying out the “zero tolerance” policy Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions unveiled in April, when he announced that all immigrants who cross the border will be charged with a crime.

Together, the Border Patrol and U.S. attorney’s office in New Mexico bring charges against nearly every eligible adult migrant apprehended at the state’s border, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. That amounted to 4,190 prosecutions last fiscal year.

Vigorous enforcement in New Mexico is a result of ample bed space in the state’s border county jails and a “fast-track” system that prosecutes nonviolent migrants quickly. The state also doesn’t face the volume of illegal crossings that south Texas does, for example.

“It is an efficient process,” says U.S. Attorney for the District of New Mexico John Anderson. “That is one of the key features that allows us to implement 100% prosecutions.”

For Judge Brack, it’s a punishing routine. And it has been building for a long time. Back in 2010, the judge had been on the federal bench seven years, his docket overloaded with immigration cases, when “at some point I just snapped,” he said.

He sat down to compose a letter to President Obama to call for a more compassionate approach to immigration, one that would keep families together and acknowledge that the demands of the labor market drive immigration:

I write today because my experience of the immigration issue, in some 8,500 cases, is consistently at odds with what the media reports and, therefore, what many believe.

I have learned why people come, how and when they come, and what their expectations are. The people that I see are, for the most part, hardworking, gentle, uneducated and completely lacking in criminal history. Just simple people looking for work.

If there’s one thing America doesn’t need, it’s millions of additional uneducated foreigners. Judge Brack must believe in the idea of America as a flophouse that exists for the betterment of the Third World, rather than a nation that protects its law-abiding citizens. Importantly, the tech future of employment requires a well educated workforce, not Hondurans with a fifth-grade education.

Anyway, on a planet where the population is approaching eight billion persons, the dissatisfied of the world need to stay home and fix their own countries.
