There was a blast from the past on Wednesday, when the Dallas branch of the FBI announced that Yaser Abdel Said had been arrested after being a fugitive since 2008 when he shot his teenage daughters to death in his own taxi — something I wrote about at the time: Honor Killing in Texas?
Below, Amina and Sarah Said, along with the father Yaser Abdel Said.
Yaser was born in Egypt in 1957, according to his description on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list. Since his arrival in the US, he exhibited traditional muslim values of misogyny and harsh parenting, while his daughters grew up to live like American teens in their home in the Dallas area with their US-born mother.
And that behavior seemed to be a problem to Yaser, though it was a predictable outcome of the situation. Unless children of immigrants are sent to religious or foreign-language schools, they will normally absorb conduct typical in a public high school — like dating Americans, which was an irritant for the muslim father.
It’s interesting that Yaser was arrested in Justin, Texas, which is only 35 miles from Irving where the double murder took place. Was he in hiding for 12 years in the Dallas area? If so, it might suggest a community of traditional muslims willing to protect a killer who was seen as sharia friendly. The August 2016 issue of the Texas Monthly reported that the Dallas metro area is “home to more than 150,000 Muslims.”
If any of those persons protected Yaser Said from the law, they would be in big trouble because Texas takes harboring offenses seriously:
In Texas, the law that criminalizes the act of harboring a fugitive is known as Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution. . . Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution is a Class A misdemeanor unless the harbored person is wanted for a felony, in which case it is a Third-Degree Felony punishable by 2-10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
In fact, a Dallas CBS report noted that Said’s son Islam and brother Yassim were arrested for harboring.
A Texas father — one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives — wanted for the slayings of his two teen daughters was busted after more than 12 years on the run, the federal law enforcement agency announced.
Yaser Abdel Said, 63, was arrested Wednesday by agents in the small town of Justin, about 36 miles northwest of Dallas, officials said.
The Egyptian-born taxicab driver was sought on capital murder charges since the New Year’s Day 2008 shootings of his two daughters, Sarah Yaser Said, 17, and Amina Yaser Said, 18, which have been described as “honor killings.”
The teens were found shot multiple times in a cab outside an Irving motel after one of them called 911, saying she was dying, authorities said.
“Help,” the younger sister could be heard crying on a 911 recording. “I’m dying. Oh my God. Stop it.”
Relatives at the time told cops that Yaser threatened “bodily harm” against Sarah for going on a date with a non-Muslim.
The girls’ mother, Patricia Said, fled with both girls in the week before their killings because she was in “great fear of her life,” police said.
Gail Gattrell, the sisters’ great-aunt, described the deaths as an “honor killing” — which are often carried about by a relative who believes a woman went against conservative Islamic values on love or marriage. (Continues)
Sometimes it seems extreme to accuse the left of supporting crazy Open Borders. But then some major figure will put his foot right in it, as candidate Joe Biden did recently when he said he would import two million poor foreigners immediately if elected — because America is a sanctuary or something.
Old Joe wants to give something away that doesn’t belong to him — residence in the United States — and the American people’s choice of Donald Trump as president in 2016 shows how many are sick of being the world’s welfare office.
The best thing for all concerned would be to end the immigration rescue mission entirely, because even saving millions as candidate Biden desires would only be a drop in the bucket and would further damage America with still more poor foreigners. It would be better to promote microlending and similar programs that help foreigners stay home and fix their own homelands.
Because they can’t all come here.
Tucker Carlson was unimpressed with Joe Biden’s generosity, as well as the continuing anarchy on the border.
TUCKER CARLSON: Here in Washington our leaders spent the week focused on the Middle East, on Iran, but out there in the rest of the country there are plenty of more pressing tangible concerns. For example, many of our cities are starting to fail. infrastructure is aging, both crime and the cost of living are surging, and left-wing prosecutors have stopped enforcing the law. We will have more on all of that in Part Four of our America Dystopia series in just a moment.
But for the leading presidential candidate, candidate Joe Biden of Delaware, none of these problems matches what he believes is the greatest crisis at all: America isn’t importing enough desperately poor people. That’s his position.
In a tweet on January 5th, Biden lashed out at the president for immigration policy, quote: “Our Statue of Liberty invites in the tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free. But Donald Trump has slammed the door in the face of families fleeing persecution and violence.” End quote.
What a moralizer, that Joe Biden. Then just a few months ago, Biden vowed if he becomes president, he will admit two million poor immigrants overnight, and then increase that number from there. Watch.
JOE BIDEN: We can afford to take in a heartbeat another two million people. The idea that a country of 330 million people cannot absorb people who are in desperate need and who are justifiably fleeing oppression is absolutely bizarre. Absolutely bizarre. I would also move to increase the total number of immigrants able to come to the United States.
CARLSON: How many of those immigrants will be staying at Joe Biden’s house, at Joe Biden’s expense? Hmm, zero, of course.
Biden’s view is our chief mission as a nation is to admit as many poor people as we possibly can. The less impressive their country of origin, the less they are able to contribute to this country, the more we want them. You are rich, they are poor, therefore you must give them money, the right to vote, a permanent home. And once have you done that, repeat.
Biden claims that’s our moral duty, that Donald Trump and anyone else who shirks that duty is a racist.
But, is Trump shirking that duty? Is the basic claim even true? It’s worth assessing — there’s so much lying.
So once again we go to the numbers. Here’s what they are. From October 2018 to September of 2019, the Border Patrol apprehended 977,000 people at the US-Mexico border. That’s the highest total in more than a decade and more than the previous two years combined. Continue reading this article
The murder of 59-nine-year-old Bambi Larson earlier this month has been a stark reminder of how little the safety of citizens matters in the Democrat-run sanctuary state of California.
Below, illegal alien Carlos Eduardo Arevalo Carranza (left) stabbed Larson to death in her home, inflicting “extensive and deep” wounds on the mother of two.
Viewing the extensive criminal record of the accused Salvadoran illegal alien, Police Chief Eddie Garcia observed, “He could have been turned over six times,” meaning to ICE for deportation.
“His criminal history convictions consist of in Feb. 2013 he was detained by the Department of Homeland Security at the border near McAllen, Texas, and deported.”
“In 2015, he was arrested for drug paraphernalia. In 2015 he was convicted of burglary in San Jose. In 2016, battery of an officer, resisting arrest and entering a property. In 2016, he was arrested for battery in Los Angeles. In 2017, he was arrested and convicted of false imprisonment in San Jose. On April of 2018, arrested for paraphernalia again. In May, he was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.”
“In August of 2018, he was arrested for prowling. On October 2018, he was arrested for false identification and paraphernalia once again.”
Carranza was clearly a dangerous character as shown by charges of battery against an officer and false imprisonment along with extensive drug use, yet he was allowed to roam California at will, with no unpleasant deportation.
California’s alien-loving political establishment is clearly embarrassed by the obvious failure of diversity ideology, illustrated by finger-pointing from various officials. San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo posted a letter online in which he expressed concern for safety. . . of immigrants:
It is long overdue for the County to reconsider its current policy of ignoring ICE hold requests for predatory felons, which undermines the safety of the very immigrant communities we collectively seek to protect.
“ICE should’ve gotten a warrant here. They could’ve gotten a warrant here,” said County Counsel James R. Williams, at a press conference late Wednesday afternoon. “And the county’s practice has always been to honor warrants that are issued.”
The murder of Bambi Larson could have been prevented if California officials had done their basic job of corralling criminals, but that responsibility is apparently too onerous if the perp is diverse. So the once-Golden State continues down the road to perdition because Democrats let foreigners run wild as a matter of political belief.
Last week, the House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy gave a 10-minute floor speech which included a long (but necessarily incomplete) list of Americans killed by illegal aliens.
Of course, every crime committed by an illegal foreigner should have been prevented by immigration enforcement, but wasn’t. A top job of government is to protect the citizens from foreign enemies, and America’s open borders make that responsibility an ongoing joke. Politicians used to brag that America was a “nation of laws” but you never hear that phrase any more.
Plus, crime is a job some Americans will do, so we needn’t import foreigners to do the robbing and murdering for us.

LEADER KEVIN McCARTHY: There has been 266,000 criminal aliens arrested in the last two years. This includes charges and convictions of 100,000 assaults, nearly 30,000 sex crimes and 4000 violent killings. Three hundred Americans die every week from heroin, and more than 90 percent of heroin comes from across the southern border. And roughly 10,000 children are being smuggled into the US every year to be sold for human trafficking.
And they are celebrating a status quo that leaves 700,000 DACA-designated individuals unsure about their future. It was the best display of politics that this country is sick and tired of seeing. Zero-sum politics and nothing ever changes. Well I’d like to spend some time and reflect on Americans and their families who may not have been celebrating the status quo preserved by this majority:
On January 31, 2016, Sarah Root was killed by drunk driving illegal alien Edwin Mejia. She was just 21, and had graduated from Bellevue University the day before.
On the three-year anniversary of Sarah’s death, Senator Joni Ernst spoke on the Senate floor about the preventable loss, as well as a reintroduction of Sarah’s Law, proposed legislation that would prohibit federal immigration officials from releasing any illegal alien who has committed a violent crime against an American citizen

WASHINGTON – On January 31, 2016, the night of her graduation, Sarah Root, a twenty-one year-old Iowan from Council Bluffs, was struck and killed in Omaha, Neb., by Edwin Mejia, who entered the country illegally and was driving drunk – three times over the legal limit.
Today, on the third anniversary of her death, Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), along with Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Ben Sasse (R-NE), Deb Fischer (R-NE) and 11 of their colleagues, re-introduced legislation in honor of Sarah, to allow federal law enforcement to detain illegal immigrants criminally charged with killing or seriously injuring another person.
“It is wholly unacceptable that someone who is here illegally and is responsible for the death of another human being is not considered an enforcement priority nor is detained by ICE. We have an obligation to the Root family, and to the American people, to ensure that no person falls victim to this injustice again. Sarah’s Law brings us one step closer to restoring justice in our broken immigration system by allowing ICE to detain and hold these criminals accountable,” said Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA).
“The tragic death of Sarah Root three years ago and the ongoing search for her killer underscore the serious attention border security and immigration enforcement require in America. Sarah’s life was cut short by an undocumented immigrant who disregarded the rule of law and decided to get behind the wheel after drinking. The Obama Administration refused to take custody of Sarah’s killer because it didn’t consider him a priority, allowing him to disappear into the shadows. The Roots have been robbed of their daughter, and at least for now, they have been robbed of justice. Our legislation, named in Sarah’s memory, will ensure that those who harm or kill Americans will be taken into custody and removed while also ensuring that victims and their families get the information they deserve from the government as they pursue justice,” said Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
“Edwin Mejia’s mugshot shouldn’t be on a most wanted poster — Edwin Mejia should be in jail, serving hard time for the life he took and the pain he left behind,” said Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE). “Sarah’s Law is common-sense legislation that Sarah and her family deserve to have signed into law. Congress should waste no time sending this legislation to the President’s desk for his signature.” . . .
The opioid epidemic has been blamed on overuse of painkiller drugs and the doctors who over-prescribe them. But it turns out there’s an illegal alien connection to that social ill along with so many others.
A recent report from Boston found that 65 percent of those arrested for selling heroin, morphine and synthetic opioids were foreign born, with many being Dominicans. More diversity in drug dealers is not what America needs. Worse, Boston officials still don’t understand that illegal immigration is a big part of the problem.
Tucker Carlson recently discussed the issue with Boston radio guy Howie Carr:
TUCKER CARLSON: Howie, this seems to me as a layman to be another indication that maybe there’s a connection between our immigration policy and our drug problems.
HOWIE CARR: Absolutely, Tucker, this has been a very big issue as you said, not just in Massachusetts but in all of New England. Donald Trump ran around last year during the Republican primary in New Hampshire talking about this. Two of the local governors, Republicans, Chris Sununu in New Hampshire and Paul LePage in Maine have publicly blamed the epidemic of heroin largely on illegal alien or alien drug dealers, and of course they’re accused of racism, nativism, xenophobia, but this report from the City of Boston Police Department — it’s an official document — makes it clear that they’re on to something, that this is the problem.
And what makes it even more more interesting is that we have a mayor in the city of Boston who has offered to turn City Hall into a sanctuary for illegal aliens while at the same time he runs around the city railing against the heroin epidemic that’s killing his constituents, and it’s being perpetrated by the people he wants to protect, and at the Statehouse in Boston they’ve cracked down on physicians legally writing prescriptions for legal opioids, claiming that most of the problem is physicians over-prescribing vicodins or percocets for grannie. That’s just that’s just not the case. Maybe it used to be the case, but no longer.
CARLSON: People are totally paralyzed in positions of power by the fear they’re going to be called insensitive. They’d rather see their people die than be called insensitive.

Unfortunately, diverse Dominican drug dealing has not elicited a realistic response from law enforcement, as observed by Tucker Carlson. Protecting illegals remains a top value for Boston Mayor Marty Walsh in particular:
Dominican drug trafficking gangs dominate the balance of heroin distribution in Boston, according to a new report from the Boston Police Department.
The Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC), a Boston Police division that also receives funding from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), released the “2016 Heroin Overdose Report” Tuesday to provide data on trends in opiate use in the city.
An analysis of arrest data for Class A drug trafficking — selling heroin, morphine and synthetic opioids — revealed the majority of individuals arrested in 2016 in Boston were not U.S. citizens, and most of those non-citizens were Dominican foreign nationals.
Of those arrested for Class A trafficking, 65 percent claimed to have been born in a foreign county. Within that group, 84 percent told police they were from the Dominican Republic. The share of heroin trafficking arrests attributable to Dominican nationals is likely even higher, the BRIC report says, because illegal immigrants from the Dominican Republic often use fake Puerto Rican birth certificates to obtain state identification documents.
“There has been open source reporting that Dominican drug traffickers will use identities stolen from Puerto Rico to acquire drivers licenses in Massachusetts, and in other states,” the report said.
Identity fraud exploiting Puerto Rican nationality is a major facilitator of heroin distribution in Boston, according to the BRIC report. On Friday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions visited Central Islip on Long Island, New York, an area suffering from worsened gang crime, particularly the ultra-violent MS-13 gang from Central America. That gang got extra attention for itself following a horrific quadruple murder on Long Island earlier this month.
Even so, enforcement of America’s immigration law is unpopular in certain quarters, and unfriendly open-borders advocates turned up as greeters, because even murderous illegal alien criminals are apparently desirable in the minds of some:
About 100 people gathered outside the Central Islip federal courthouse Friday morning to demonstrate against the attorney general’s visit, sending the message that “immigrants are welcome here.”
The demonstrators gathered about two hours before Attorney General Jeff Sessions addressed law enforcement officials during a stop in the same community where the bodies of four young men were found in a park just over two weeks ago — the latest violent incident in Central Islip and Brentwood to be investigated as a possible gang-related killing. . .

I also want to thank Congressman Pete King for inviting me to visit his district. He has been a steadfast partner and leader in combating violent crime. Finally, let me thank our Acting U.S. Attorney Bridget Rohde of the Eastern District of New York. Bridget, thank you not only for your hospitality, but also for your leadership.
Today is the 99th day of President Trump’s administration. The President made a promise to make America safe again, and that is exactly what we are doing at the Department of Justice. The President has talked to me several times about this and his commitment to these issues is complete. He is very aware personally of the violence and murders here.
We’re seeing an increase in violent crime our cities – in Baltimore, Chicago, Memphis, Milwaukee, St. Louis and many others. But gang violence has also been in the headlines right here in the suburbs of Long Island, while the murder rate has surged 10 percent nationwide – the largest increase since 1968. Groups of murderers, rapists, traffickers and thugs are carrying out a frontal assault on the decent, law-abiding men and women of this community and others like it across our country.
This is not acceptable, and the American people will not tolerate it.
Are these gang and cartel members violent and formidable foes? They sure are. But they are also mortal, and that means they can be arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned for their crimes. And that’s what we are going to do.
MS-13’s motto is “kill, rape and control.” Let me tell you our motto: justice for victims and consequences for criminals. It is that simple. We will prosecute gang members who commit crimes, to the full extent of the law.
This community is no stranger to violence. You know the story: last September, two teenage girls here were beaten to death using baseball bats and a machete. Earlier this month, police in Central Islip found the bodies of four young men, ranging in age from 16 to 20. They had been murdered and their bodies were dumped in a park. One of these young men was an honor student.
I have a message for any gang that targets our young people: we are targeting you, and we are coming after you.
Transnational criminal organizations represent one of the gravest threats to American public safety today. These groups enrich themselves by pedaling poison in our communities, trafficking children for sexual exploitation and inflicting horrific violence in the neighborhoods where they operate and slipping their ill-gotten wealth back to their home countries.
For example, there are over 30,000 MS-13 members abroad, with their headquarters in the El Salvadoran prison system. According to the National Gang Intelligence Center, MS-13 now has more than 10,000 members in at least 40 states in this country – up significantly from just a few years ago. Rainer Wendt is the President of the German Police Union, and he has fearlessly spoken out about the failure of Germany’s plunge into mass Muslim immigration. In an earlier interview, he observed, “And then there’s criminality among the refugees, meaning, rapes of women and of children, massive use of violence, criminal activities such as exploitation, slavery, we see it all there.”
The current brief clip of a speech spells out how totally assimilation has failed among Muslims in Germany, and not just recently according to the officer. The reason is they come not as immigrants but as conquerors for allah.
Isn’t it time to stop inviting enemies inside the gates? Perhaps the electoral success of immigration restrictionists like Geert Wilders and Marine Le Pen in the next little while will shake up the open borders establishment in Europe.
RAINER WENDT: …and I don’t even know how people come up with the idea and belief that integration could work. It can’t function, and I can even tell you why: because here in Germany we have already impressively proven that we can’t do it.
And whoever doesn’t believe that, I will gladly invite to Berlin or to Bremen, the Ruhr area, the Rhineland. There we’ve been integrating for going on thirty years!
In Berlin alone we’ve got about twenty large families, twelve of them highly criminal, that number a few thousand people. Heroin, the weapons trade and human trafficking, the whole palette of organized crime, perfect parallel societies, with child marriage, forced marriage, so-called honor killings, genital mutilation… the whole program.
Not just since 2015, ladies and gentlemen, but for the past thirty years! There’s not just one — I’ve heard the example of the one woman with great interest — there are entire families that don’t speak one word of German. And women who furthermore aren’t allowed to go out on the street all by themselves, and who of course don’t speak a single word of German.
We have therefore already screwed this up thoroughly. In some parts of Berlin there even are special traffic laws! There are special courts. And we say: oh, well, just a little bit, that’ll surely work. And we are putting up with more and more.
Fake hate crimes claimed by Muslims are getting to be quite a thing, to the point where spokeshuman Ibrahim Hooper of the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) felt a need to explain it away. He says the reason for all the fake hate crimes is that muslims are driven crazy by the terrible “Islamophobia” that they suffer from meanie suspicious Americans.
“Islamophobia” is a go-to excuse for any misbehavior that muslims cannot easily escape. Now we supposed to believe that “Islamophobia” makes them insane. (Remember that a phobia is an irrational fear, while some muslims really are trying to kill us.)
Say, if America is so horrible, why don’t fragile Islamics move back to the loving Ummah community in the Middle East or North Africa? There’s plenty of Islo-territory.
Even fake hate crimes are caused by “Islamophobia.”
Here’s a new twist: the establishment propaganda media’s narrative that Muslims are always victims is breaking down with the continuing revelations that Muslims have faked “anti-Muslim hate crimes,” and so now ABC News has doubled down: Muslims are victims, you see, because they fake anti-Muslim hate crimes. They’re driven crazy by “Islamophobia,” doncha know.
“These false reports unfortunately give ammunition to the industry of Islamophobes who promote the demonization and dehumanization of Islamic Muslims,” says Hamas-linked CAIR’s Ibrahim “Honest Ibe” Hooper. “Islamic Muslims,” Ibe? Are there non-Islamic Muslims now? Anyway, note how deftly Hooper plays the victim card even in the process of being exposed for falsely playing the victim card: the fake hate crimes are not a challenge to the veracity or trustworthiness of Muslims; rather, they’re tools in the hands of the alleged “Islamophobes” who supposedly “promote the demonization and dehumanization of Islamic Muslims” — as if its demonizing and dehumanizing someone to ask him to be honest. In an executive order issued on Wednesday, President Trump directed the Homeland Security Department to release periodic lists of crimes committed by illegal aliens residing in sanctuary cities:
(b) To better inform the public regarding the public safety threats associated with sanctuary jurisdictions, the Secretary shall utilize the Declined Detainer Outcome Report or its equivalent and, on a weekly basis, make public a comprehensive list of criminal actions committed by aliens and any jurisdiction that ignored or otherwise failed to honor any detainers with respect to such aliens.
One of the more appealing aspects to the candidacy of Donald Trump was the seriousness with which he approached illegal alien crime and his obvious compassion toward families who had lost a loved one in crimes that would have been prevented by real borders. Relatives of crime victims were invited to speak at Trump’s Republican convention.
Last April, Jamiel Shaw, standing at the podium, told a Trump campaign audience about the 2008 murder of his teenaged son who was shot and killed near his home by an exceptionally violent illegal alien gangster who nevertheless had been released onto Los Angeles streets instead of deported. Others on the stage are holding pictures of their relatives also killed by unlawful foreigners: one is Sabine Durden who is standing closest to Donald Trump.
Although this information should absolutely be made public — because the extent of illegal alien crime has routinely been hidden by authorities — it’s unclear how much effect the information will have. In certain locales, protecting illegal alien criminals is practically a religion. In San Francisco, the murder of Kate Steinle by a career alien criminal deported multiple times caused officials no regret about their sanctuary policy at all. In fact, the city doubled down on its criminal shielding program because apparently immigration diversity is the peak value of liberals.
Interestingly, during a KQED radio show on Thursday discussing sanctuary in San Francisco, Angela Chan (senior staff attorney for the Asian Law Caucus) condemned the “hysteria” surrounding the Steinle killing, which she called a “horrible tragedy” rather than a preventable crime. Funny how citizens’ deeply felt concern about injustice and public safety looks like “hysteria” to leftist political operatives.
President Trump on Wednesday ordered the Homeland Security Department to begin releasing a name-and-shame list of sanctuary cities, listing the specific crimes such as murder or robbery committed by those who have been released back into their communities under the sanctuary policies.
That was one of a number of less-noticed but potentially far-reaching moves tucked inside two new executive orders erasing decades of previous immigration enforcement policy and replacing it with the Trump plan, which calls for aggressive enforcement of existing laws.
Border Patrol and interior enforcement agents have been unshackled from the limits imposed by former President Barack Obama, as Mr. Trump said he wants to see them doing the jobs they were hired for.
He said he wants to enlist those local police and sheriff’s offices that are eager to enforce immigration law, and will punish those that throw up roadblocks — including the new name-and-shame list.
Some 279 cities and counties refused to cooperate on at least some deportations in 2016, accounting for 2,008 immigrants who were shielded, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Each of those immigrants’ convictions will now be publicly listed so residents can see the level of crimes committed by those released into their communities, under the Trump orders.
Analysts said that list could help rally internal opposition to sanctuary cities, which are already rallying to defy Mr. Trump. Continue reading this article
During Donald Trump’s victory speech, some of the best praise went to the Senate’s faithful defender of law and borders, Jeff Sessions. As the President-Elect (!) thanked several important people on his team of advisors and surrogates, he recognized Sessions to the applause of all in attendance:
“The first man, first senator, first major, major politician. Let me tell you, he is highly respected in Washington because he is as smart as you get. Senator Jeff Sessions. Where is Jeff? A great man.”

Hopefully, this attention signals that improved immigration enforcement remains high on the Presidential to-do list. Fortunately the candidate Trump’s website contains a thorough section about how immigration can be fixed to serve the American interest. Obama has been mucking up enforcement for eight years, so the list is rather long with all the policies that must be repaired.
However, the central issue of how many immigrants is not addressed, but decades of ceaseless foreigner inflow have made the public care about the number. A CIS poll from earlier this month found that 54 percent of likely voters want legal immigration reduced by at least half to 500,000 or less. The Trump statement mentions the immigration number only obliquely, saying he would, “Reform legal immigration. . . keeping immigration levels within historic norms.”
Prioritize the jobs, wages and security of the American people.
Establish new immigration controls to boost wages and to ensure that open jobs are offered to American workers first.
Protect the economic well-being of the lawful immigrants already living here by curbing uncontrolled foreign worker admissions
Select immigrants based on their likelihood of success in the U.S. and their ability to be financially self-sufficient.
Vet applicants to ensure they support America’s values, institutions and people, and temporarily suspend immigration from regions that export terrorism and where safe vetting cannot presently be ensured.
Enforce the immigration laws of the United States and restore the Constitutional rule of law upon which America’s prosperity and security depend.
Is it not appalling that backwards Pakistan is one of the top immigrant senders to this country? — up to a million residents estimated. In fact, there are so many Pakistani immigrants residing in America that they are now disallowed from the evil Diversity Visa.
KARACHI: After forming the seventh largest immigrant population in the United States (US), Pakistanis are no longer eligible for the diversity visa.
The diversity visa is a special immigration lottery that allowed families from countries with low rates of immigration into the US to qualify for the move. A lot of Pakistani families used this facility to immigrate to the US, leading to an immigrant population of between 700,000 and one million Pakistanis.
According to the US law, diversity laws are only allowed to counties that have low rates of immigrants, said US consulate in Karachi’s spokesperson Brian Asmus, during a media tour of the Karachi consulate’s visa section on Friday. Pakistan had 104,000 immigrants in the 10 years between 2005 and 2014, he said, explaining why Pakistanis are no longer eligible.
The state department has only stopped diversity visas and there are a lot of other options, such as petitions, student, visit and exchange programme visas, which come under the non-immigrant category. “One can always apply for immigrant visa if they have immediate family in the US,” explained US consulate’s Non-Immigrant Visa chief Mary Pellegrini.
