Following the mass slaughter in Paris of Charlie Hebdo journalists and artists, huge crowds and world leaders assembled in the city to express condemnation of the murders that were committed to shut down free speech in France.
However, the generally tough talk in defense of free speech tends to disappear in specific instances when people don’t want to be murdered in their office by some jihad-crazed Muslim immigrants.
The topic of attacks against free speech was a theme in a recent SunTV segment of JihadWatch between Michael Coren and Robert Spencer. Jihadists are determined to end Western criticism of Islam, aka blasphemy which can be punished by death according to Muslim scriptures.
COREN: These issues don’t direct involve terrorism, it’s not always the issue of terrorism, it’s our freedom of speech being eroded and decayed. Artwork violating Islamic blasphemy law removed from a Paris exhibition — this is not Egypt or Syria or Iraq or Saudi Arabia; this is France, the home of art, avant garde, expressionism, breaking artistic barriers. They’ve changed their policy because they’re frightened of what some Muslims might say?
SPENCER: Well, they’re afraid of what some Muslims might do, Michael, what they’re afraid of is that Islamic jihadis might strike them the way they struck at Charlie Hebdo. So what you have here is a victory of terrorism. The terrorists wanted France and the rest of the free world to conform to Islamic blasphemy law, and they showed that they are willing to kill to make that happen, and in response all too many Western institutions and activities like this one are curtailing their acts and conforming to Islamic blasphemy laws to avoid suffering the same fate. It is a collapse of courage on a massive scale.
COREN: What sort of artworks were so offensive?
SPENCER: There was an artwork of a woman who was stepping on a prayer mat with shoes and this is not allowed, shoes when you go into a mosque, and so this is considered to be so possibly disrespectful and inflammatory to Muslims that it was voluntarily removed by the people running the exhibit.
Winning through intimidation — that’s the Islam strategy. And it works because people know violence will follow if intimidation alone doesn’t do the trick.
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is a cultural and Islamic practice that is performed commonly on young girls with the hope that it will make them uninterested in sex when they get older. It is sometimes fatal because of unsanitary conditions, and may cause lifetime pain in victims.
Doctors at one English hospital have dealt with 1,500 cases of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in just five years, it emerged today.
Figures from Birmingham’s Heartlands Hospital reveal that staff see six patients who have been subjected to the barbaric procedure every week.
Nationwide, 15 new cases of FGM are reported to hospital around the country every day. But the victims of the shocking practice are clustered in certain areas, which explains the high rate in Birmingham. Heartlands saw 349 cases in 2013, following 288 cases in 2012, 316 in 2011 and 317 in 2010. It is thought to be one of the centres which has seen a large number of the 463 cases now being identified in England every month.
NSPCC Head of Child Protection Operations John Cameron said: ‘These figures show the NHS is consistently seeing a high number of FGM cases every month. FGM is a live public health issue and it is vital all health professionals are trained to spot the signs of FGM and that girls who are subjected to this brutal practice get the post-traumatic support they deserve.
‘We need to ensure doctors, midwives and other healthcare professionals are working effectively together with children’s services to support and protect FGM victims and their family members.’
The records show the number of women recorded as having been subjected to the practice, even if they were in hospital for another reason. Campaigners have pointed out that the numbers may be just the tip of the iceberg, as only those women who have sought specific medical treatment are included in the data. Most of the reports we have heard about the jihadists in Europe have described small groups with a few members, but the conversation between JihadWatch’s Robert Spencer and SunTV’s Ezra Levant considers how the substantially increased numbers of hostiles mean a higher level of danger.
EZRA LEVANT: We know that thousands of European Muslims have gone to fight with the Islamic State terrorists in Iraq and Syria. Do you thinks it’s credible there are groups 20-30 as these reports say, a hundred terrorists in a single cell ready to attack in Europe? Do you think that’s credible?
ROBERT SPENCER: Yeah, absolutely. There’s not reason why not. Even European authorities are acknowledging today that there are between 2,000 and 5,000 what they call radicalized Muslim extremists, that is Muslims that are ready to wage jihad and wage it in Europe and they are in Europe now, and so could a hundred of them get together to plan a large-scale attack? There’s absolutely no reason why not. . .
LEVANT: In Canada some years ago we had the Toronto 18, so that was 18 Muslim extremists collaborating, training, working on their plans. The plans were intercepted but still, if 18 people would work together in Canada, which has a smaller Muslim population, I guess it is not unthinkable that you would have, but these terror cells reportedly are up to a hundred people. In my mind, I think of the damage done by two or three people working in concert in Paris last week. A hundred people, I mean that’s like a military battalion, that would be enough to take over a police station, that would be enough to take over a military base, that would certainly be enough to slaughter any Jewish synagogue or university, maybe even enough to get into the French parliament.
SPENCER: Yeah, Ezra, look, all these things are possibilities. Saying it’s a military battalion, I think that’s very well put because they do consider themselves to be in a war.
The terrorist arrests in Belgium on Thursday turned up police uniforms as well as the expected explosives and firearms. A Reuters report (Dozens held across Europe in Islamist suspect sweeps) quoted the prosecutor’s spokesman who explained, “This group was on the point of carrying out terrorist attacks aiming to kill police officers in the streets and in police stations.”

So the bad guys have bigger plans for Europe and elsewhere. The Toronto 18, mentioned by Ezra Levant, didn’t get much press in the US, but the group had a very ambitious plot in 2006 to invade Canada’s Parliament building and behead the Prime Minister, among other violence. In addition, some of the jihadists today have gotten military training in Syria and are therefore far more dangerous than the standard Allah gangsters of earlier plots. At any rate, continuing Muslim immigration is madness.

Interestingly, one common theme of the year was how western governments and media insisted upon ignoring the ideology of Islam as being causal, even as the bodies piled up. Even when jihadists declared that following Islam was their motivation, the politically correct voices of the west insisted the perp was mentally ill or disaffected from society — anything except acting according to jihadist principles.
MARK STEYN: Corporal Nathan Cirillo did not need to die, and I think that is the appalling tragedy that whatever you say to his family in the end if we had a different approach to these things, if we took the ideological threat more seriously and if we didn’t just simply maintain a legalistic law enforcement approach to it, then I think these things would go very differently.
We choose not to get the message that the guy wanted to put a bullet through not only Corporal Cirillo but trough the heart of the Canadian state, and that’s why he chose that target, and we should take these guys at their word when it comes to this stuff, that the fellow in Sydney, he got more furious as the siege went on because he was watching the sappy multiculturalist TV station across the street denying anything, he said he was doing it in the name of the Islamic State and they were saying ‘Oh no, it’s not an Islamic State flag, it’s just any old common Muslim flag, this is nothing to do with terrorism.’
At a certain point, we should respect our enemies enough to take them at their word.”
BRIAN LILLEY: “. . .We have apologists still saying, ‘No, it was mental illness.’ I don’t know how you diagnose someone who’s dead all of a sudden turn around and say, ‘No they have mental illness and that’s why they did this.”
STEYN: “You don’t need a vast intelligence operation, as you say, these guys are on social media, they’re doing it out in the open and the reason we don’t take it seriously is because we’re trained to look the other way, exactly the way that the check-in desk clerk did at Portland Airport in Maine on September 11th thought that Mohammed Atta was creepy and suspicious and then, ooh, a politically incorrect thought, better not do anything about it or I’ll be tied up in sensitivity training for six months and so Mohammed Atta got on the plane and 3000 people died, because we have been trained to look the other way.”
One of the most misleading phrases in the news these days is “lone wolf” meaning a jihad-style terrorist with no convenient associates who can be chased down by police.
On the contrary, most of these characters are plugged in to a historic terror manual, the Koran. They are not “lone” by any stretch; they are part of the active ummah, the community of Muslims. And the Koran tells the faithful that it is their duty to engage in war to promote the spread of Islam: over a hundred verses in the Koran call for warfare against infidels.
By leaving out the religious context of these violent attacks, it is easy for the mainstream media to identify the perps as crazies rather than purposeful jihadists fighting infidels for allah.
Former CIA analyst Clare Lopez appeared on SunTV with Brian Lilley this week and discussed the “lone wolf” characterization so popular with the media:
CLARE LOPEZ: (speaking in reference to a Canadian jihadist) “When you heard him speaking in that little video clip you played there, you heard him say, ‘Our people’ and that’s the clue that this is not anything that really should be termed a “lone wolf” attack. I think that is a misnomer. What he is referring to is the fact that he, even though he is a Canadian born and raised, feels himself more to be a member of the worldwide global Islamic ummah, or people, than he does a Canadian citizen. And this is the clue for us to understand the mentality in thinking not lone wolf but member of the global Muslim community which has been exhorted by the Islamic State in its magazine and in various video announcements, they are being told you must perform individual jihad — that’s the correct term, individual jihad, in Islamic doctrine. . . .
If enough Muslims around the world respond to these calls by the Islamic State and others that there will be a swarming affect that law enforcement will find very difficult to deal with because just as you say there isn’t any warning, there aren’t any plots to break up or to infiltrate, but individuals acting on their own or perhaps maybe in very small cells but I do think this is what we have to look forward to in the coming months and perhaps years in terms of the international global jihad movement.”
Unwise immigration has its costs, as the French have been learning the hard way. There have been three street attacks in as many days, with at least two Allah Ackbars. As a result, the government has placed 1000 armed soldiers in urban areas where people congregate.
Predictably, authorities claim that crazies are to blame for the attacks, despite the large Islamic clues. JihadWatch’s Robert Spencer suggests another strategy:
French authorities have described all the recent jihad attacks there by Muslims screaming “Allahu akbar” as manifestations of mental illness. So why are they deploying troops? How can soldiers fight mental illness? Shouldn’t they be deploying psychologists?

SunTV’s Michael Coren and John Robson discussed the increased danger from “low-rent fanatics” who drive vehicles into crowded public places. Coren observed, “Their tactics though, and I don’t say this with any relish, they are successful in that they are changing European societies. France is changing security, protection, the way people regard themselves. Now this is precisely what the far left, the Marxist left tried to do in the sixties and seventies, to provoke a free society into becoming less free.”
PARIS — After a string of attacks across France that have heightened concerns about Islamic militancy, Prime MinisterManuel Valls said Tuesday that hundreds of additional military personnel would be ordered onto the streets to reinforce a routine deployment of security forces.
“There is a terrorist threat in France,” Valls told a news conference in Paris. “It is undoubtedly the main challenge of our time.”
But, seeking to reassure a jittery nation unsettled by fears of militancy linked to the jihadist campaign in Syria and Iraq, Valls said that between 200 and 300 more military personnel would be deployed, in addition to 780 already on the streets as part of routine year-end precautions. He indicated that the soldiers’ mission would be to guard against copycat attacks inspired by the three assaults.
“Vigilance, calm, determination. These are the key points,” Valls said, speaking after successive attacks in the central town of Joue-Les-Tours on Saturday, in Dijon on Sunday and in Nantes on Monday. Continue reading this article
The recent interview of JihadWatch’s Robert Spencer by Michael Coren on SunTV was jam packed with topics, listed by video site AlohaSnackbar (links added by me):
The unfriendlies are energized because of their successes and the weakness of America and Europe.
One theme of the interview is how Muslim societies that earlier were friendly to religious minorities are now in the thrall of violent jihad, like Bosnia which once had a less bloodthirsty Islam in Europe, but is now becoming infected with the headchop frenzy.
Regarding the use of churches as prisons in Iraq:
ROBERT SPENCER: They’ve completely eradicated Mosul of the 2000-year-old Christian population that had been there, and seized all the churches. There were 45 Christian installations in Mosul that are now under the control of the Islamic State. They’ve deliberately chosen to convert the churches into prisons as a sign of their contempt for the faith that had been preached there as a sign that they believe in accord with the koran that Jesus was a Muslim father who taught Islam and that wasn’t taught in the churches where they twisted a hijacked version of the true teachings of the Muslim prophet Jesus.
Has any conservative talking head on Fox News ever suggested that Muslim immigration be halted? If so, I never saw it. By comparison, SunTV’s Michael Coren (who has lived in the Middle East) asked that politically incorrect question generally to the audience and directly to VDARE.com’s Peter Brimelow.
The result was a discussion about multiculturalism, cultural disintegration and the intention of the elites to “elect (import) a new people” more to their liking.
Coren observed, “Many people are saying look at the countries of origin of potential immigrants. And if these countries are used to sharia law and Islamic triumphalism, maybe they can’t adapt to United States or Canada or Europe.”
Brimelow responded, “In the 1920’s the Americans imposed an immigration law that established a national origins system that discriminated in favor of people who came from the place most Americans had come. In 1960’s they decided it was very bad and discriminatory and they abolished it. What subsequent experience has shown is national origins actually do matter, in all kinds of ways, not just shooting soldiers, but also in academic performance and so on. People from different counties do differently… The interesting thing about this case is that the Muslim community in Canada has reached a critical mass where it actually refuses to assimilate… there’s a certain critical mass where you see reverse assimilation taking place.”
Here’s another recent item with Coren, interviewing security expert David Harris, where the focus is on how the police are reaching the limits of staff who can keep track of the hostile Muslims thought to be terror threats. Harris recommends immigration to Canada be reduced to a manageable few tens of thousands annually.
In fact, when discussing the threat of hostile Islam, Wilders normally mentions the immigration component and that it should be stopped. He understands that admitting historic enemies into a nation as immigrants is madness.
SunTV’s Michael Coren interviewed Wilders on Wednesday, following the terrorist attack in Ottawa. He recommended that Canada “Be much tougher and stricter in your immigration policy. My party advocates a full stop of immigrants from Islamic countries. Not that we believe all that Muslims are bad people. They are not. But we cannot import people from countries where an ideology is dominant that wants to use violence, that has nothing to do with the rule of law of our society, based on our values of Christianity and Judaism, on humanism.”
Wilders gave an interview to the American Spectator that was quite concise in describing the problem and naming what must be done.
Geert Wilders is the founder of the Dutch Party for Freedom, the fourth largest in that country’s parliament, and perhaps the Netherlands’ most controversial political figure. Wilders, whose 2008 film Fitna confrontationally opposed the encroachment of Islamic culture into Europe, has become an international figure while being prosecuted for “hate speech.” Calling himself a “right-wing liberal,” Wilders advocates curbing immigration into the Netherlands and other Western countries from Islamic nations, closing radical mosques, denaturalizing violent Muslims, and reducing the power of the European Union, among other things.
In America this week for a one-week tour, Wilders chatted with The American Spectator about Islam, the civilizational conflict, and what must be done to keep the West free.
How big is the threat to the West from Islamic civilizational jihad? Is our focus on terrorism overlooking other, perhaps more insidious means? Islam is a totalitarian ideology aiming for world domination. It wants to establish a worldwide caliphate, ruled by Sharia law — undemocratic, intolerant, barbarian, inhuman.
Terror and violence are just one method which is used in order to achieve this aim. There are other methods, such as conquest by hijra (immigration). Muhammad himself gave this example of hijra when he conquered Medina. This town, which was originally a tolerant and partly Jewish oasis, became Islamic after Muhammad and his followers settled there and took it over.
Western leaders focus solely on terrorism, but fail to see the purpose which terrorism is serving: Islamic word dominance. They should focus on fighting the global imperialist plans of Islam and treat terrorism as one of the means used to achieve this goal.
How would you characterize the Dutch experience in assimilating Muslims? The Netherlands failed to assimilate Islam. So did the other European nations.
Western Europe is in the grip of cultural relativism. It no longer believes in the superiority of its own Western Judeo-Christian and humanist values. The busybody in the Vatican thinks the first world is not rescuing enough “migrants” and accepting them into their nations. Pope Francis has already written his statement for World Refugee Day in January and the highly inclusive message was recently released, titled “A Church without frontiers, mother to all”.
For a taste, here is the final paragraph:
“Dear migrants and refugees! You have a special place in the heart of the Church, and you help her to enlarge her heart and to manifest her motherhood towards the entire human family. Do not lose your faith and hope! Let us think of the Holy Family during the flight in Egypt: Just as the maternal heart of the Blessed Virgin and the kind heart of Saint Joseph kept alive the confidence that God would never abandon them, so in you may the same hope in the Lord never be wanting. I entrust you to their protection and I cordially impart to all of you my Apostolic Blessing”.
You might think that the Pope would focus on endangered Christians, who are being removed from the Middle East by murderous Islamic jihad, demanding that non-Muslims “Convert or die.” But no, he apparently believes that all refugees should be welcomed in the West, including hostile Muslims who promise to destroy Christianity and the other non-Islamic religions.
As noted here earlier, refugees are largely created by Muslim wars: World Refugee Day: Jihad on the March. There is no reason to infect the West further with the Islamic pathology of violence and supremacism. Muslim refugees should go to other Islamic societies.
VATICAN CITY (CNS) — Pope Francis called for the “globalization of charity” through an international network to fight human trafficking and ensure the rights of migrants and refugees.
The pope’s words appeared in his annual message for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, which in 2015 will be observed Jan. 18. The Vatican released the pope’s message, “Church Without Frontiers, Mother to All,” Sept. 23.
“Large numbers of people are leaving their homelands, with a suitcase full of fears and desires, to undertake a hopeful and dangerous trip in search of more humane living conditions,” the pope wrote. “Such migration gives rise to suspicion and hostility, even in ecclesial communities, prior to any knowledge of the migrants’ lives or their stories of persecution and destitution.”
Pope Francis called on all to honor the “biblical commandment of welcoming with respect and solidarity the stranger in need.”
“Jesus Christ is always waiting to be recognized in migrants and refugees, in displaced persons and in exiles, and through them he calls us to share our resources, and occasionally to give up something of our acquired riches,” he wrote. Continue reading this article
It’s not often that the New York Times and JihadWatch scholar Robert Spencer agree about an Islamic threat, but a Sunday front page headline was “U.S. Suspects More Direct Threats Beyond ISIS,” referring to Khorosan a newly coined Allah gang.
Khorosan is something of a knockoff from al Qaeda, which may feel upstaged by all the noisy media coverage about ISIS, as well as its success in grabbing territory. Every jihad bunch wants to be recognized as the baddest on the block, which is not good news for western civilization.
Spencer noted the symbology of Khorosan, saying,
“The name comes from a region in central Asia in ancient Iran, that is the subject of the stories that are told in Islamic tradition about Mohammed talking about the end times and saying that the black banners come from Khorosan, and you should go and follow them and you will find the person who is the caliph of Allah, that is the mahdi, the savior figure of Islam who will conquer and Islamize the world at the end of the world in this view.”
“So the idea is that this group is named after this region from which will come the jihadis that will herald the final Islamization of the whole world and the conquest of all the infidels and they are plotting apparently attacks in the United States against westerners high-profile targets, something on the order of 9/11 and they seem to apparently be here now, of course the same can be said for the Islamic State.”
WASHINGTON — As the United States begins what could be a lengthy military campaign against the Islamic State, intelligence and law enforcement officials said another Syrian group, led by a shadowy figure who was once among Osama bin Laden’s inner circle, posed a more direct threat to America and Europe.
American officials said that the group called Khorasan had emerged in the past year as the cell in Syria that may be the most intent on hitting the United States or its installations overseas with a terror attack. The officials said that the group is led by Muhsin al-Fadhli, a senior Qaeda operative who, according to the State Department, was so close to Bin Laden that he was among a small group of people who knew about the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks before they were launched. The director of national intelligence, James R. Clapper Jr., said on Thursday that “in terms of threat to the homeland, Khorasan may pose as much of a danger as the Islamic State.”
The CBS report was a little more straight-forward.
WASHINGTON — The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) may be dominating the headlines and stealing attention with its prolific propaganda, but CBS News’ Bob Orr reports, another group in Syria — one few have even heard of because information about it has been kept secret — is considered a more urgent concern.
Sources tell CBS News that operatives and explosives experts from Osama bin Laden’s old al Qaeda network may again present an immediate threat to the U.S. homeland.
At two dozen foreign airports, U.S.-bound passengers are undergoing enhanced security screening. Agents are searching for hidden explosives. Laptops and phones with dead batteries have been banned from flights.
Great Britain raised its national terror threat level, and the FBI is tracking American jihadists who may return home.
Sources say it’s due to the emerging threat in Syria, where hardened terrorists loyal to al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri are working on new, hard-to-detect bombs. Continue reading this article
Last Sunday New York City’s annual Muslim Day Parade was held, as always, scheduled near the 9/11 anniversary for maximum screw-you-America effect.
Pamela Geller appeared on Sun TV’s Source program with Ezra Levant to discuss the appalling sights and behavior. The theme of the parade was supposed to celebrate the shared values of Islam and America (heh), but the event exuded threats and Islamic supremacy.
Exhibited parade items included a lynched female mannequin in the back of a pickup, Muslim men in black brandishing weapons (fake?), and real girls being held in a cage. Levant asked about the caged girls, “Is that the Boko Haram float?”
In other words, just another display of diverse Muslim values of barbaric terrorism, violence and misogyny.
You would think a pro-jihad display would get some attention in the media-thick city, but the press was largely absent except for sites like Breitbart and TheBlaze which reported it, plus SunTV.
