Most of those crimes all sound like jail time to non-lawyer me, but an actual immigration lawyer recently wrote that it’s more likely she might have her US citizenship removed or be deported.
Of course, the ideal outcome would be for the scheming America hater to do some hard time in the joint, followed by a one-way trip home — win, win. But permanent removal in the near future would be an acceptable consolation prize for patriotic Americans.
The immigration lawyer examines a substantial list of questions about Omar’s background that has “more questions than answers” — and it’s curious that a well known public figure has so many mysteries about her background and identity.
The lawyer warns she could be repatriated if she doesn’t get a good attorney — hope springs eternal!
Rep. Ilhan Omar needs competent immigration counsel to ensure that there is no threat of her losing her citizenship, or, worse, deportation.
The Department of Justice has reportedly assigned an FBI special agent to work with Immigration and Customs and Enforcement and the Department of Education Inspector General Charge to investigate Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) for alleged criminal violations relating to perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, state and federal tax fraud, federal student loan fraud, and bigamy.
As an immigration lawyer, the very first question that came to mind when I read these reports was what immigration consequences, if any, could attach in the event that any of the above allegations are proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. My analysis, unfortunately, has resulted in more unanswerable questions than definitive answers.
My analysis started with the fact that it is widely known Omar was born in Somalia, and immigrated to the United States as a Somali refugee. At some point after her admission to the country, she obtained U.S. citizenship. The Associated Press reported on November 5, 2009, that Omar fled Somalia to a refugee camp in Kenya with her family in 1991. She ultimately immigrated to the United States as a refugee in 1995.
If this report is correct, the analysis is fairly straightforward. Generally speaking, U.S. immigration law permits refugees to apply for permanent residence, commonly known as a “green card,” one-year after arrival. Five years after holding a green card, refugees may then apply to become a citizen through a process called naturalization.
Naturalization applicants must show they meet residency requirements, and have good moral character. It was reported that Omar became a citizen in 2000, five years after her arrival, at the age of 17.
This last detail is important, and is where things start to get murky. If Omar became a U.S. citizen at the age of 17, she must have obtained it through automatic acquisition after the naturalization of at least one of her parents. Omar would not have been able to apply for citizenship on her own because individuals are ineligible to apply for naturalization until age 18.
Here is where it gets really complicated. The requirements for automatic acquisition have changed several times throughout the last century. The marital status of Omar’s parents would determine whether she could have acquired citizenship. I have no details about their marital status to be able to determine if these legal requirements were fulfilled.
However, if Omar did not have to apply for naturalization, it could eliminate one possible crime that she could be charged with: knowingly giving false information in furtherance of an application for citizenship. A conviction for this crime would lead to her denaturalization, resulting in the loss of citizenship, and the institution of removal proceedings to deport her.
But the analysis doesn’t stop there. For Omar to have automatically acquired citizenship, she must also have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence, and there are reports questioning the legality of her admission as a refugee.
David Steinberg has covered the Omar saga for several years and has openly questioned whether she is who she says she is. Steinberg has alleged that Omar assumed her name from an unrelated family that was being granted refugee status. Although I have no way to independently assess the veracity of this report, there is circumstantial evidence that this type of immigration fraud was rampant in the circumstances under which Omar was admitted to the United States.
Specifically, in 2009 the Obama administration assessed the viability of re-employing a Bush-era pilot program that unearthed widespread immigration fraud. It found that as many as 87 percent of applications claiming familial relationship were fraudulent. If the reports are ultimately found true, the immigration consequences would be severe, including loss of citizenship and the institution of removal proceedings. Moreover, there may be no defenses to removal in an immigration court setting to stop her deportation. (Continues)
Certainly eye-catching for traditional Americans would be the earlier shenanigans of the first ever Somali woman elected to the House, Ilhan Omar. She started getting attention in 2016 when she won a state House seat in Minnesota to represent an area now know as Little Mogadishu. A one-time refugee, Omar arrived in the Twin Cities in the 1990s.
But Omar’s backstory may have included a diverse marriage arrangement that is definitely non-kosher for American law: she apparently married her brother to ease her entrance to the United States because spouses are normally given preference in immigration cases.
Ilhan Omar will be elected to succeed Keith Ellison representing Minnesota’s Fifth District. It appears increasingly likely that she married her brother Ahmed Nur Said Elmi for dishonest purposes in 2009 and didn’t get around to dissolving the marriage until 2017, all the while living with the man she advertised as her lawful husband and father of her children. You’d never know it, however, if you get your news from the Star Tribune, as many Fifth District voters do (not that it would necessarily matter to them).
I came to this conclusion two years ago for reasons set forth in “The curious case of Ilhan Omar,” but I say it appears increasingly likely because of the work this campaign season of PJ Media’s David Steinberg. Building on my own work and especially that of Preya Samsundar, Steinberg has now published a four-part series of columns investigating Omar.
This is the diversity that Nancy Pelosi and Democrats celebrate — but to many Americans, such behavior shows how Somali immigration frequently brings crime and a vastly different culture that often resists assimilation.
Somali values are made clear by a major case of fraud now being reported: fake daycare businesses were set up to bilk the government of cash which is then carted off by the millions in suitcases to Somalia to fund Al Shebaab, a regional jihadist group. Tucker Carlson had a succinct report on Tuesday:
TUCKER CARLSON: Millions of taxpayer dollars may have been used to fund terrorists in Somalia; that’s according to a new report by a Fox affiliate in the Twin Cities. According to that story, many members of Minnesota’s Somali immigrant community have discovered they can open sham daycare centers that only pretend to watch children, collect a fat subsidy from the state for doing that and keep the change. They’ve make millions of dollars, up to a hundred million according to that report: that would be half of Minnesota’s annual budget for child care assistance. Again, these are people who were resettled here as an act of charity by our country, accused now of defrauding our country. And not just fraud — fraud so brazen the report says that Somalis buy shares in fake daycare outlets just to get a cut of it.
Some of this fraudulently obtained money is reportedly being shipped back to Somalia in suitcases full of cash to evade federal wire transfer restrictions some of this money is ending up in regions of Somalia controlled by the Islamic terror group Al Shabaab. . .
The Shabaab jihadists are a rough bunch, and millions of dollars can buy lots of weapons to murder infidels and disobedient muslims.
Before Somali immigration, Minnesota had a reputation as a friendly and law-abiding state, so $100 million stolen from the state’s taxpayers for child care comes as a shock, although muslim crime has been an ongoing theme there for years. The fraud certainly blows up the diversity narrative that liberals worship.
One news report from the Pioneer Press was eye-catching because of its raw emotion on display — it could have been written by a high school student:
Here’s the idea that’s freaking people out: “$100 million in Minnesota taxpayer child day care fraud is going to Islamic terrorists.”
It doesn’t look like all of that is true — but parts of it are.
There’s a lot of smoke — and a lot of fire — around this story, which KMSP-TV broke this week and has sent lawmakers and bureaucrats at the state Capitol into action. And these actions and reactions have been all over the place, ranging from hunkering in echo chambers to demanding answers to pouncing on red political meat to, well, everything in between.
It’s hard to keep track — and easy to get the facts wrong. Let’s try.

Why the shock? Somalis have been leaving Minnesota for years to fight for jihad in their ancestral homeland — why wouldn’t they transport stolen dollars to Somalia for the same purpose?
The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity Islam, Douglas Murray’s important book, continues to influence the debate on allowing mass immigration of Muslims, a historic enemy of the West. The political problem was Europe’s foolish invitation, led by Germany’s Chancellor Merkel, to millions of dissatisfied muslims to come live in the West. But the psychological cause is a disconnect from the history of Europe civilization, which still includes the Enlightenment.
Murray’s analysis is that Europe’s elite (but not its average citizens) feel a loss of confidence about the last century’s failures of history require the penance of surrendering to the diverse hordes of the Third World. From the outside, it does seem Euro-elites are throwing in the towel on the continent with its complicated history.
Murray has distilled important points from his book into a five-minute explainer for a PragerU video:
DOUGLAS MURRAY: The civilization born of Judeo-Christian values, ancient Greek philosophy and the discoveries of the Enlightenment is staring at the abyss, brought there by its own hand. To put it starkly: Europe is committing suicide.
How did this happen?
It’s a complicated story, but there are two major causes.
The first is the mass movement of peoples into Europe. This has been going on steadily since the end of World War II but sped up massively in the migration crisis of 2015, when more than a million migrants poured into Europe from the Middle East, North Africa and East Asia.
The second, and equally significant, is that Europe lost faith in itself—its beliefs, its traditions and even its very legitimacy.
Let’s take a closer look at both causes.
For decades, Europe encouraged people—mostly from the Middle East and North Africa—to come as temporary workers. Nobody expected them to stay. Yet they did. And nobody asked them to leave, even those who came illegally. As one British immigration minister put it in 1999, “Removal takes too long, and it’s emotional.”
And, of course, why would they leave? The economic opportunities were far greater in Europe than from where they came. And if the work dried up, there were generous welfare benefits to be had.
For a time, immigrants were allowed—even encouraged, thanks to the European commitment to “multiculturalism”—to pursue whatever culture they wanted. But that didn’t work out well. The leaders of Britain, France and Germany admitted as much in 2011, when David Cameron, Nicholas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel dramatically announced that multiculturalism had failed.
So, the immigrants were then asked to assimilate and embrace Western values. If that happened, European governments reasoned, all the financial costs, even the occasional acts of terrorism, could be overlooked.
But it never happened. And immigration just increased.
During 2015, Germany and Sweden added 2% to their populations in a single year. By 2017, the most popular boys name in United Kingdom was Muhammad.
So, why did European leaders decide Europe could take in anyone in the world, whether fleeing war or simply seeking a better life, no matter how different—or even opposed—their values were to European values?
The one-word answer to this question is guilt. Aren’t these refugees, the thinking goes, fleeing the consequences of European imperialism? Didn’t we mercilessly exploit these unfortunate people in their home countries? Aren’t we the cause of their misery?
Accepting them into Europe is meant to be a wiping-away of this guilt. This is especially true of Germany. In allowing one and a half million people into her country in 2015, Angela Merkel was, in effect, proclaiming to the world that Germany, the great aggressor of the twentieth century, the architect of the Holocaust, would be the humanitarian superpower of the twenty-first. A noble sentiment, perhaps, but who pays the price? The ordinary citizens of Europe, who have seen crime and terrorism increase exponentially. Their fears and frustrations have been largely ignored—or worse.
In October 2015, the German government designated that 800 newly arrived immigrants were to be housed in the German town of Kassel. Concerned residents had a meeting to ask questions of their representatives. As a video recording shows, the citizens were calm and polite. Then, at a certain point, their district president informs them that the refugees are coming regardless of their objections and anyone who does not agree with the policy is “free to leave Germany.”
This official attitude—if there is a problem, it’s not with the refugees, but with the citizens—reflects the sense of what I call “tiredness”—a feeling among the elite class that the European story has played out: that we have tried religion and all imaginable forms of politics, and that each has, one after another, led us to disaster. We taint every idea we touch, so who’s to say that the world wouldn’t be better off without us?
Of course, only people who have no idea how lucky they are could take this view. Ironically, no one knows this better than those refugees who truly did assimilate and who defend Western values. Extraordinary people, like Somali-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who left the Netherlands because she believed in the principles of the Enlightenment more than the Dutch did. Or Hamed Abdel-Samad in Germany, whose life is threatened by fellow immigrants because he defends European values.
This is the stuff of suicide, the self-annihilation of a culture.
It is possible that ordinary Europeans will join their leaders in this pact. But recent opinion polls suggest that they have no intention of doing so. How they act on that intention will be the great story of the years ahead.
Are we about to witness the end of Europe, or its re-birth?

Keep in mind the because of massive immigration, London is no longer majority white. So the many tribes of newbies act within an atmosphere of extreme diversity which we are told daily is a strength. Yet violent crime is on an upswing.
Here are a few headlines from the last week denoting crime among the diverse residents of London — apparently the determined criminals somehow make do with knives:
In Minneapolis, the local Muslim reaction over the murder of Australian woman Justine Damond by a Somali immigrant policeman has taken on a familiar theme — the old “backlash” dodge which attempts to make the Somalis into the victim.
Portraying Minnesota Somalis as the injured party is a heavy lift, largely because of their years-long record of violence, jihad and non-assimilation. In 2009 (when the Somali population of the state was only 32,000), the AP reported that the Rise of Somali Gangs Plagues Minneapolis. In the same year, Shirwa Ahmed (a 2000 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis), traveled to Somalia to blow up himself and 29 others in Mogadishu.
Last September Somali refugee Dahir Aden stabbed 10 persons in a St. Cloud shopping center while shouting Allah. Making local people fear a jihad attack while browsing in the mall will not convince them trust Muslim immigrants.
So if indeed there is a backlash against Somalis in Minnesota, an argument can be made that they brought on distrust and ill feeling themselves, by their years of violence, jihad and hatred of the US — which Americans have recognized as a threat.
When Mohamed Noor joined the Minneapolis police force and was assigned to patrol the city’s southwest corner, the Somali community there — the nation’s largest — threw a party for him to celebrate.
He was the first Somali American officer to serve in Minneapolis’s fifth precinct and one of fewer than a dozen Somali American officers in the department. His presence on the squad brought Somali activists some pride and reassurance at a time of Islamophobia in America and nationwide racial tension stoked in part by shootings of black people by white police officers.
Now that same Somali community is bracing for a backlash against Noor that has already begun.
On Monday, multiple media outlets named Noor as the officer who fatally shot an unarmed Australian woman in the city’s popular Fulton neighborhood over the weekend, an incident that has grabbed global attention and thrust Minneapolis into yet another uproar over police violence….
The report stoked fear among Somalis in the Twin Cities, who have worked for decades to become part of the city’s fabric. There are now Somalis on the police force, the city council and in the Minnesota House of Representatives. But the largely Muslim population of Somali Americans in the region still face Islamophobia and innuendo about terrorism.
“They fear this will be just another event used to create animosity toward the Somali community,” Mohamud Noor, executive director at the Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota, told The Post.
Already, hateful posts criticizing Islam and sharia law are filling social media in response to the police shooting. Several far-right blogs featured sensational headlines that blamed the officer’s ethnicity for the deadly use of force. Continue reading this article
It’s good news from Washington that President Trump has prevailed upon some of our irresponsible world neighbors to take back their criminal citizens. The problem of deportable thugs being freed onto American streets because their homelands won’t take them has been under-reported.
In 2012 Ted Poe appeared on the House floor and discussed the murder of Lois Decker while displaying her photo, plus analyzing other crimes resulting from criminal aliens being released into American neighborhoods.
The Washington Times article below is reasonably thorough; however it could have included more details about Thong Vang, an illegal alien criminal mentioned. He had rape convictions and shot two guards according to the article, but there’s more, much more.
As I reported in Fresno Gunman Was a Violent Convicted Felon Laos Would Not Receive in Deportation, Vang and more than a dozen of his Hmong gangster pals kidnapped, forcibly confined and gang-raped three young girls, aged 12 to 14. Plus Vang was sentenced to only 19 years in prison and served 16 despite the violence of the crime, which is rather shocking in itself. He shot the two police officers last September when he reported to the Fresno County Jail as required by his parole and was behaving strangely. When an officer asked him to sit down, he pulled a gun in the crowded room and wounded the two.
Six months after the shooting, the two correctional officers were still recovering from the gunshots. They are lucky to be alive, given America’s weakness toward illegal alien criminals in recent years.
Between cajoling, threats and actual punishments, Homeland Security has managed to drastically cut the number of countries that habitually refuse to take back immigrants whom the U.S. is trying to deport, officials said Tuesday, notching an early immigration success for President Trump.
The number of recalcitrant countries has dropped from 20 to 12 over the months since the presidential election, and some longtime offenders — including Iraq and Somalia — have earned their way off the naughty list. The list of countries is the shortest this decade.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials couldn’t immediately say how many people have been deported because of the changes, but Somalia has taken back 259 just seven months into the fiscal year. That is far more than the 198 it took back in all of 2016 and the 17 it took in 2015.
Marlen Pineiro, assistant director for removal operations at ICE, said the efforts began under the Obama administration but that Mr. Trump has created a determined focus at the Homeland Security and State departments, which are both involved in speeding up deportations.
“The wind being at our wings is really driving us forward,” she said.
In many cases, that means criminals who otherwise would have been released onto the streets are now being sent to their home countries.
Recalcitrant countries have long been among the serious issues that didn’t get much attention, though the consequences can be extreme.
In one notorious case, Haiti refused to take back an illegal immigrant who had served time for attempted murder, and U.S. officials were forced to release him. He killed a young woman in Connecticut just months after his release.
Another illegal immigrant, Thong Vang, was released from prison in 2014 after serving time for rape convictions, and his home country of Laos refused to take him back. He was sent to a California prison last year and shot two guards, police said.
Armed with those kinds of cases, Mr. Trump made recalcitrant countries a part of his presidential campaign. He vowed to begin putting pressure on countries to take back their deportees.
One of his first executive orders instructed Homeland Security to take steps to pressure other countries, including potentially stopping the issuance of visas to governments that refuse to cooperate. Continue reading this article
Now that spring has melted the snow around the Canada border, more illegal aliens squatting in the US are moving north for better mooching opportunities.
It’s lucky for Americans that the left press has created so much fear among the illegal aliens and refugee fraudsters when the truth is rather different.
The PBS report strives to elicit a guilt response from Americans (whose taxes partially fund the liberal network). But there are problems, in particular the Somali woman Nasra with autistic kid. PBS says “She settled in Minneapolis on a U.S. medical visa to get treatment for her six-year-old autistic son.” But a medical visa is temporary, not an excuse for settlement. Plus a medical visa requires the recipient to show an ability to pay for the treatment, which seem unlikely. Nasra sounds like she got in as a refugee, since she said she would be killed if sent back to Somalia, just as the drill requires.
They all say they will be murdered if required to live in their own countries. It’s amazing anyone abroad manages to survive at all.
LISA DESAI: Much of the four thousand mile American border with Canada is wide open and unsecured. In the first three months of this year, a steady stream of immigrants from all over the world braved the bitter cold to reach a country where they believe there’s less risk of detention and deportation.
Just north of Minnesota and North Dakota lies the Canadian province of Manitoba. The town of Emerson is a main entry point. An hour’s drive north is the provincial capital, Winnipeg, a city of 700-thousand. That’s where I met this woman from Somalia.
For her safety, we agreed to shield her face and call her “Nasra.” She settled in Minneapolis on a U.S. medical visa to get treatment for her six-year-old autistic son. Her family is part of a minority clan persecuted in Somalia’s civil war.
NASRA: I faced a lot of problems in Somalia. During the war, my father and my brother were attacked, and my mother and I endured so much pain — we left and never went back.
LISA DESAI: After President Trump listed Somalia as one of the countries whose citizens would be blocked from entering the U.S. Nasra decided that although she was legal, it wasn’t safe to stay.
NASRA: I heard that they were going to arrest people and take them back to Somalia and that they were going into people’s homes and they were going to separate families, mothers from children.
LISA DESAI: What would happen if you were deported back to Somalia?
NASRA: If I go back to Somalia I won’t stand a chance there, I would be killed.
LISA DESAI: In February, she left Minneapolis and became one of nearly 1,000 migrants, according to the Canadian Government, to cross from the U.S. into Canada this year. She paid a driver to take her and her son most of the way.
NASRA: We walked for hours, the snow was falling, we couldn’t see. It was cold, it was dark and if it wasn’t for God we would have died. Continue reading this article
The Los Angeles Times is astounded that President Trump wants immigration to be a legal process, and admitting foreigners should not endanger the safety of Americans.
In short, immigration should not be a suicide pact, but the Times finds that notion to be radical. The Times rejects out of hand the many arguments to restrict immigration both by numbers and culture. Many Americans have noticed the various negative symptoms arising from excess: too many immigrants lower American wages, some diversity (Muslim!) is dangerous, surplus population draws down water supply, worse traffic happens, creeping bi-lingualism pops up, schools are flooded with non-English speakers, criminal gangs infiltrate, free speech is crushed because “sensitivity” etc. ad nauseum.
We get regular sermons from the elite media about the joy of diversity because humans normally prefer to around those who share the same values, language and culture. The article under consideration must be considered to be a rather scolding sermon.
The Times’ Tuesday front page revealed their shockeroo discovery: the Trump administration regards immigration enforcement seriously.
Actually, the Times gets spun up in its diversity ideology with the typical liberal lie of conflating legal and illegal immigration: in fact, there’s no indication from President Trump that he intends to round up millions of legal immigrants, which would unlawful. The invaders may want to avoid driving drunk and other crimes, though.
The piece also claims that no terrorists have come from the seven countries covered by the temporary travel ban, but investigation has found 72 active jihadists from those places.
Behind President Trump’s efforts to step up deportations and block travel from seven mostly Muslim countries lies a goal that reaches far beyond any immediate terrorism threat: a desire to reshape American demographics for the long term and keep out people who Trump and senior aides believe will not assimilate.
In pursuit of that goal, Trump in his first weeks in office has launched the most dramatic effort in decades to reduce the country’s foreign-born population and set in motion what could become a generational shift in the ethnic makeup of the U.S.
Trump and top aides have become increasingly public about their underlying pursuit, pointing to Europe as an example of what they believe is a dangerous path that Western nations have taken. Trump believes European governments have foolishly allowed Muslims with extreme views to settle in their countries, sowing seeds for unrest and recruitment by terrorist groups.
“Take a look at what’s happening in Sweden. Take a look at what’s happening in Germany. Take a look at what’s happened in France. Take a look at Nice and Paris,” Trump said Friday during a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference, referring to riots last week in a predominantly Muslim neighborhood in Stockholm, as well as attacks and unrest in similar neighborhoods in Germany and France over the last few years.
Trump is also expected to talk about the need for stringent security during his address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night. And he is likely to issue a new travel ban this week, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Monday. Continue reading this article
If you watched CNN or other liberal media the last few days, you might think there was a major uprising of Americans against President Trump’s decision to pause immigration and visits from certain terror-supporting nations.
But a Rasmussen poll conducted January 25-26 showed the opinion of voters reflected concern for protecting public safety, not a politically correct worry about the feelings of sensitive Muslims.
Most voters approve of President Trump’s temporary halt to refugees and visitors from several Middle Eastern and African countries until the government can do a better job of keeping out individuals who are terrorist threats.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 57% of Likely U.S. Voters favor a temporary ban on refugees from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen until the federal government approves its ability to screen out potential terrorists form coming here. Thirty-three percent (33%) are opposed, while 10% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Similarly, 56% favor a temporary block on visas prohibiting residents of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from entering the United States until the government approves its ability to screen for likely terrorists. Thirty-two percent (32%) oppose this temporary ban, and 11% are undecided.
This survey was taken late last week prior to the weekend protests against Trump’s executive orders imposing a four-month ban on all refugees and a temporary visa ban on visitors from these seven countries.
These findings have changed little from August when 59% of voters agreed with Trump’s call for a temporary ban on immigration into the United States from “the most dangerous and volatile regions of the world that have a history of exporting terrorism” until the federal government improves its ability to screen out potential terrorists. The media ignore strong indicators of the continuing failure of Muslim immigration like the Minnesota terror trials. Somalis come here, chirping they came for “a better life,” but the young men want to go to the Middle East and Africa to kill for allah. What happens when many more of them decide there are plenty of infidels in America to murder? For example, nine persons were stabbed in September in a shopping mall jihad attack.
A news story from a couple months ago reported the US had admitted nearly 100,000 Somali refugees since 9/11. That number sounds low, since the government doesn’t like keeping count of the unfriendlies it imports against the will of the American people.
The Somalis pictured below (Guled Ali Omar (sentenced to 35 years), Abdirahman Yasin Daud (30 years) and Mohamed Abdihamid Farah (30 years)) were some of the nine aspiring jihadists sentenced to lengthy prison terms.
On Saturday, Fox News had a brief report about the Somali sentencing, including a clip of Iraq veteran Pete Hegseth visiting Little Mogadishu in Minneapolis, where he had a hard time finding Somalis who could speak English.

Seeking to send an emphatic message that there is “no doubt” about the depth of terrorism recruitment in the Twin Cities, a federal judge on Wednesday sentenced the final three of Minnesota’s ISIL conspiracy defendants to the sternest prison sentences yet handed down in a Minnesota terrorism case.
“It’s clear, and I’ve stated it the last two days … this community has to understand that there is a jihadist cell in this community — its tentacles spread out,” Senior U.S. District Judge Michael Davis told a packed courtroom. “Young people went to Syria and died.”
Davis concluded three days of hearings by sending defendant Guled Omar to prison for 35 years, and sentencing two others — Mohamed Farah and Abdirahman Daud — to 30 years each. The three were the only defendants to plead not guilty and go to trial, where a jury in June convicted them of charges including conspiracy to commit murder outside the United States. They were also convicted of conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the same charge on which six others pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week.
Addressing Davis earlier in the afternoon, one of the prosecutors called Omar, 22, “not redeemable,” and said he presented a unique case because he watched his older brother leave Minnesota to join the Somali terror group Al-Shabab, then applied those lessons to advise the current group as its emir, or leader. Saturday was a busy day terror-wise. A bomb went off in New York City, about which there are still questions regarding the perp and motives. Another explosive went off in New Jersey along the route of a 5K run that celebrated US Marines.
But there is no question about the attacks in St. Cloud MN where an as yet unnamed Muslim stabbed nine people after quizzing at least some of them about their religious affiliation regarding allah.
ISIS claimed him as one of theirs on Sunday, but the guy was in no position to argue since he had been shot dead by an off-duty cop during the Muslim’s stabby spree.
Minnesota has been inundated by Somali Muslims, who are among the most backward newbies ever, plus they are top jihad returners to the homeland. So why does Washington continue to import Somalis when they don’t like the country or its inhabitants?
Minnesota has struggled for years trying out various strategies to get Somalis to assimilate to American values — expensive youth outreach, make-work social programs, even a basketball coaching scheme for one jihadist that failed — but the Africans have shown zero interest in wanting to acculturate. They prefer their Islamic values of jihad, polygamy, Islamic supremacism and misogyny. A filmmaker interviewed Somalis in Minneapolis last year and most openly rejected the Constitution and embraced sharia as their core belief.
Liberals like Obama say America should repeal the Second Amendment if it would “save one life.” Meanwhile his open borders and Syrian Muslim immigration jihad have caused many American deaths and will likely kill more.
Some Somali immigrants to America prefer to return to their national home to kill for allah with al-Shabaab or ISIS.
Minnesota resident Pete Hegseth appeared on Fox News Sunday morning and agreed with Donald Trump that it’s time to hit the Pause button on diverse immigration.

TUCKER CARLSON: A man shouting Allah goes on a stabbing rampage inside a Minnesota shopping mall. Did the refugee crisis caused this? We will connect the dots with Pete Hegseth. Eight people were stabbed in a mall in St. Cloud, Minnesota, last night by a man shouting Allah as he asked his victims if they were Muslim.
ED HENRY: Fox News contributor and US Army vet Pete Hegseth was in St. Cloud just yesterday. He joins us live now from Minneapolis. Good to see you Pete, certainly not under these circumstances, when you see what is clearly a terror attack on the ground in Minnesota. What are you hearing there? What are people saying?
PETE HEGSETH: I was there for a football game later on that evening. There was this attack — listen, what’s happening in Minnesota is a microcosm of the refugee concerns in America. There’s large swathes of Somali Muslims who have come to Minnesota over the last number of decades. There’s no real understanding of how many. Many of resettle throughout Minnesota — Rochester, Minneapolis and St. Cloud — a significant populations upwards of 10 or 15 percent of the population in St. Cloud now. A lot of tensions and there has not been the amount of assimilation a lot of Minnesotans have wanted.
So there’s a concern that this population could do something just like this. The FBI director a couple of months ago said that literally about the Somali population in Minnesota: there’s a terror recruitment problem and that community is in denial. And a lot of Minnesotans — I can speak for folks here — there’s been this abiding concern that something like this might happen eventually. Unfortunately it did in St. Cloud it appears, although we don’t know the identity exactly of the attacker, and with the places like the Mall of America and others here in Minnesota those fears continue.
CARLSON: So that refugee resettlement didn’t happen accidentally; it was federal policy and the upshot has been to turn your state from a peaceful state, famous for its niceness, into a place where there are more terror plots foiled than in any other state in the union.
