Washington Post Gets Hysterical over Legal Deportations

On Sunday, the Washington Post cranked up its Terrorized Migrant meme to the max, with adjectives galore in the face of approaching lawful deportations. The front page featured a scary headline in the upper right corner (shown) although the huge California earthquake got the central photo.

An uninformed reader might think that President Trump is a meanie racist who hates foreigners, judging from the overwrought verbiage more suitable to a tabloid than the capitol city newspaper.

In fact, the deportees have gone through all the court proceedings and have been found to require removal. Presumably, the aliens will choose to take their kids along home which would be natural, though the Post worried a lot about Families and The Children.

Here’s the online version with a slightly different headline:

Fear of immigration raids looms as plans for ICE ‘family operation’ move forward, Washington Post, July 6, 2019

President Trump said his administration will move forward “fairly soon” with a plan to arrest thousands of migrant families in surprise roundups across major U.S. cities, with the two-week deadline he imposed on Democrats coming up on Saturday.

Trump tipped off the mass arrests in a June 17 tweet, vowing “millions” of deportations, but called them off five days later. The president tweeted that he delayed the raids for two weeks at Democrats’ request, “to see if the Democrats and Republicans can get together and work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border.”

“If not,” he wrote, “Deportations start!”

Trump’s threats have left immigrants living in the United States illegally in a fog of dread, putting neighborhoods on edge and making residents fear venturing outside.

Eva, who works at a plant nursery in Homestead, Fla., said she has stopped going to the park and makes trips to the grocery store every few weeks.

“I don’t know when I leave in the morning if I’ll come home in the night,” said Eva, who arrived illegally 19 years ago from Mexico and whose teen daughter is a U.S. citizen.

“They could come and get me at any time,” she said, asking for her last name to be withheld for fear it could help ICE find her. (Continues)

Below, the United States cannot be the Welfare/Employment Office to the World, so deportations must go forward. Foreigners need to stay home and fix their own countries because billions cannot come here.

Meanwhile, the new acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli was doing the rounds of the Sunday shows with a lot more facts. He appeared on CBS’ Face the Nation and the 12-minute discussion was surprisingly rational.

Here’s a snip from the transcript that refers to the deportations:

CBS INTERVIEWER MARGARET BRENNAN: So what is the administration going to do?

KEN CUCCINELLI: Well, essentially at this point it’s been put in Matt Albence’s hand, the acting director at ICE. He’s a career ICE officer, came up through the ranks and they’re ready to just perform their mission which is to go and find and detain and then deport the approximately one million people who have final removal orders. They’ve been all the way through the due process and have final removal orders. Who among those will be targeted for this particular effort, or not,  is really just information kept within ICE at this point.

BRENNAN: So there had been reports that this would be just in the thousands. You’re saying the roundups will be far larger scale.

CUCCINELLI: No, no I’m just pointing out that the pool of those with final removal orders is enormous. And, it’s important to note, here we are talking about ICE doing its job as if it’s special. And really this should be going on on a rolling basis for ICE and they’ve been interfered with effectively and held up by the politics of Washington to a certain extent and they’re looking forward to just getting back to doing their job.

BRENNAN: Well, the Trump administration has deported far fewer people than the Obama administration had.

CUCCINELLI: Thus far. Thus far, that’s right. Well, and of course ICE has been, for much of the Trump Administration, has been swamped with — they’re in the second stage of the border crisis. We focus so much on the Border Patrol. But the reason you see overcrowding in those facilities is because they can’t be moved to the facilities where they were expected to go and those are ICE facilities because the ICE facilities themselves are over capacity. So the whole pipeline is clogged and ICE is backing up the Border Patrol in the southwest border.

Tucker Carlson Examines Democrat Border Insanity

The Democrat Party is crazy on stilts these days, with every candidate trying to outdo the others on anti-borders extremism. You would think that a substantial number of illegal aliens are voting in important elections.

What’s odd is that even lefty Democrats used to support border enforcement as a way to protect American citizen workers. Bernie Sanders was quite eloquent on that topic a dozen years ago:

In years past, Hillary Clinton spoke against illegal immigration and even sounded like President Trump at times:

Another historic film clip reminded viewers that Senators Obama, Biden, Schumer and Clinton voted for the Secure Fence Act in 2006:

But now the Democrats are all for open borders, apparently willing to welcome seven-plus billion humans into our welfare offices and workplaces. It’s one thing to reflexively oppose every statement that President Trump makes, but many young people and those with below average intelligence will take these foolish pronouncements the Dems as gospel.

In 2007, Bernie Sanders advocated for less immigration as good for the country, but now he has flip-flopped entirely. No wonder Americans hate politics.

Tucker Carlson examined the loopy verbiage on Tuesday:

Spare audio:

TUCKER CARLSON: Welcome back to “Tucker Carlson Tonight” live this whole week from Japan ahead of the President’s visit here. Right now though, back in the U.S., the President signaled that he might try to enforce the nation’s immigration laws. In response, Democrats are outraged and basically have become straightforward about what they really want, open borders.

On “Face the Nation,” Senator Bernie Sanders signaled that all deportations are morally unacceptable even for those who’ve gone to court and been told to leave this country legally. Watch this:

CBS NEWS REPORTER MARGARET BRENNAN: There are ICE raids set to start. Estimates of some 2,000 people or so who will be targeted. Is this appropriate?

SEN. BERNIE SANDERS: No, it’s not. It is absolutely not appropriate.

BRENNAN: But specifically on this point, the 2,000 that are supposed to be targeted haven’t shown up for court dates. So essentially they’re not following the asylum process, the legal standards when they’re here. So should they be prosecuted? Should they be deported?

SANDERS: I don’t like this deportation thing at all, and I think Trump uses this as a beginning to do worse things to come.

CARLSON: What a buffoon he has become. What a buffoon. Not to be outdone, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who was even more blunt about it repeatedly and flagrantly breaking our laws, even after coming here illegally is not a reason to make someone leave, she said, watch this:

SPEAKER NANCY PELOSI: When I saw that the President was going to have these raids, I mean, it’s so appalling, it’s outside the circle of civilized human behavior to just be kicking down doors, splitting up families, and the rest of that; in addition to the injustices that are happening at the border. We have legislation to go forward to address those needs.

A violation of status is not a reason for deportation.

CARLSON: Google the phrase “out of touch rich person” and her picture emerges, and yet still, her position is not the most extreme in the Democratic Party right now. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, her faction, the House is demanding that Congress cut off funds to the Border Patrol.

In other words, open borders are no longer enough, soon it will be literal, open borders for real. What will happen to the country at that point?

Jason Johnson is the founder of J2 Strategies. He is also a former adviser to Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, and he joins us tonight. Jason, thanks very much for coming on.

JASON JOHNSON: Thank you.

CARLSON: So it’s hard to know whether they mean this or not because if you are to take what the Democratic Party and not even the wacko left online, but elected Democratic office holders are saying on television, if you were to take it seriously, what would happen to America? California Illegal Alien Student Plans UC Davis Degree

Monday’s San Jose Mercury News shows that the pro-alien news story remains a popular #FakeNews genre. Plus, President’s tariff deal with Mexico may cut back the invader flood for a time, so the press must continue to pester the public with sob stories of suffering foreign lawbreakers who nevertheless are found to be admirable by liberal scribblers.

The Murky-News’ sympathy object is a Mexican student with a possibly pretend name of “Dafne” who is poised to steal a spot at UC Davis from some deserving American citizen. The alien is given the front-page treatment while pretending she has “a life in hiding” because of the meanie president who is defending law and borders.

The article is all sweetness and light, with no hint that there is illegality involved that actually harms other people, like the unknown person missing out on UC Davis and all the American high school kids who got less so foreigners could mooch an American education.

Make no mistake, the sudden influx of many foreign students into a school system requires a substantial addition and reallocation of resources. Those needs include free food, tutors, Spanish-speaking teachers, psychological counseling and healthcare. So either taxes go up or American kids are short-changed.

The Supreme Court case of Plyler v. Doe guaranteeing public school for foreign kids was decided in 1982 when world population was 4.6 billion — 3.1 billion fewer than today’s 7.7 billion — so perhaps it was easier to be generous then.

Plus, when hundreds of millions of people across the world are planning migration to America or Europe, that means they are not reforming their homelands. That scenario does not work given world population growth,

The current story is a reminder that the California taxpayer is dinged for the high school education of many thousands of illegal alien students, 27,000 of whom are graduating this year.

A student and a teacher: The struggles of being undocumented in California, San Jose Mercury News, June 10, 2019

About 27,000 undocumented high school students will graduate in California this year. They face uncertain futures.

Dafne, a high school senior in San Jose, is one of a small fraction of the state’s estimated 27,000 undocumented students graduating from high schools and enrolling in four-year colleges this year.

Barred from federal financial aid and facing the gnawing uncertainty she’ll ever be able to legally work in the U.S. even after earning a degree, Dafne, 17, knows firsthand the hurdles undocumented students face to succeed in higher education.

The basketball player and cheerleader was 8 years old when her parents brought her from Mexico to San Jose. This news organization is not using her full name to protect her identity.

In middle school, she realized why her mother wouldn’t let her go on a school trip to visit the Capitol or why she couldn’t get a job at fast-food chains like her friends. She said she felt ashamed and limited by her immigration status.

But now she’s trying to break free. She will attend UC Davis in the fall.

“I think, for me, college is my ticket. It’s a ticket for me to do something greater, to be something else than just my status,” said Dafne, who hopes U.S. immigration laws will change so she can work as a high school teacher one day.

Eighteen years ago, another local undocumented high school graduate contemplated the same prospect as Dafne. Julio Navarrete also dreamed of becoming a high school teacher, but wasn’t sure he could be legally employed.

Now 34, Navarrete has been named “Teacher of the Year” at American High School, the largest in Fremont.

Six years ago, he won political asylum in the U.S. and a life-changing work permit. By then Navarrete had earned a master’s degree in education and teaching certificate at the National Hispanic University in San Jose.

“Every day I wake up feeling grateful,” said Navarrete, in his fourth year as a Spanish teacher at American High. “Just the fact that I’m able to step into a high school classroom and be with my students and teach and be part of this community. That’s all I could ever ask for.”

Dafne and Navarrete are at different points of their strikingly similar paths. They were born in Puerto Vallarta and grew up in East San Jose. Their parents worked hard to barely scrape out a living.

They navigated college applications without the Obama-era program that allows nearly 200,000 unauthorized young immigrants in California to temporarily work and be protected from deportation. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals has been closed to new applicants and tied up in the courts after the Trump administration took steps to end it.

As more undocumented students graduate from high school without DACA, Navarrete said he encourages students in his classroom to pursue their aspirations.

“I tell them that nobody can take away their education regardless of whether or not in the future they’ll be able to work,” said Navarrete. “Education is our freedom, and we need to educate ourselves. And, when they finish university, maybe things will be different.” (Continues)

President Trump’s Proposal to Improve the Quality of Immigrants Meets Opposition from the Usual Quarters

President Trump has called for a fundament change in the government’s immigration system to require skills of entrants, rather than continue the current family-based system concocted by Sen Ted Kennedy in 1965.

It’s a popular proposal, according to a Rasmussen poll published May 20, titled, Voters Still See Skills-Based Legal Entry As Immigration Fix:

Voters continue to believe the U.S. immigration system is broken and still tend to favor shifting to the skills-based system that President Trump is proposing.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 55% of Likely U.S. Voters agree with Senator Lindsey Graham’s assessment last week that “we have a perfect storm brewing at the border because of a series of broken and outdated laws related to asylum and children.”

Tucker Carlson recently presented some observations about “merit” as a value in immigration after the Democrats had the predictable reaction of squawking “Racist!” at the president for common sense. Rep. Maxine Waters reflexively described the Trump immigration policy as “very racist” last week for requiring knowledge of English among newbies.

Some noticed that the Trump plan contained no overall reduction of immigrant numbers — something strongly indicated by the anemic wage growth among US workers. NumbersUSA released a video on May 6 expressing the worker viewpoint:

Another reason to decrease immigration is the increased use of worker-replacing robots. For example, Walmart (America’s largest company by revenue) is turning to automation to save money and increase efficiency:

Plus there is no discussion anywhere of the enormous factor of world population growth — now over 7.7 billion persons, more than double the 3.7 billion residents of the planet on the first Earth Day in 1970. Nearly all of that growth has occurred in the Third World which is now happy to send its excess people to America’s open border — remittances to follow, bringing billions of dollars to alien-sending countries south of the border and beyond.

Heres’s Tucker on the argument for merit-based immigration:

TUCKER CARLSON: Good evening, and welcome to “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” This week, the Trump administration revealed its proposal to overhaul America’s immigration system. The proposal would not by itself build the often promised wall on our southern border, nor would it cut current levels of immigration despite the fact that most Americans would like to see that happen.

The one big thing the administration’s proposal would do is give priority to immigrants who might actually help America — skilled workers with English proficiency. It’s hard to see an argument against a system like that — there isn’t really an argument against that system.

For years, Democrats have argued that immigrants make vital additions to our economy. They’re smarter than we are, they’re harder working, they do better in school. They found more companies.

Well, the President has decided to take Democrats at their word; he says he wants all of those good things that immigrants bring. Watch:

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: We want immigrants coming in, we cherish the open door that we want to create for our country. But a big proportion of those immigrants must come in through merit and skill.

CARLSON: Well, much of the world would move here if they could — hundreds and hundreds of millions of people. So why wouldn’t we pick the absolute best immigrants with skills in English who would fit in better here, their kids would do better in school, they’d be more likely to contribute to social programs instead of draining them.

So are Democrats rejoicing in this change? Of course not. They’re outraged. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke for the party when she declared that really merit is a bad word because everybody has merit:

REP. NANCY PELOSI: I want to just say something about the word that they use, “merit.” It is really a condescending word. Are they saying family is without merit? Are they saying most of the people who have ever come to the United States in the history of our country are without merit, because they don’t have an engineering degree?

Certainly, we want to attract the best to our country and that includes many people from many parts of society.

CARLSON: What a shame we can’t staff the Democratic Caucus in the Congress using the same criteria the Speaker would like to fill our country. “We want to attract the best for many parts of the world,” she says. But of course by that, Pelosi doesn’t mean what she says. She means just the opposite because what exactly is best about immigrants who have criminal records or middle school education, or no ability to hold a job? Continue reading this article

Hungary’s PM Viktor Orban Visits the White House

President-elect Trump invited Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for a White House visit back in 2016, and the meeting finally happened on Monday.

The PBS Newshour report was typical of the liberal press with its snooty characterization of Orban. NPR called him “Hungary’s authoritarian prime minister” and USA Today thought it was cute to quote critics’ nickname “Viktator” even though he has been elected fair and square more than once.

One suspects that Orban’s tough enforcement against illegal immigration is the real source of media disapproval. The press loves the fake generosity of open borders that harm only people far away from the nation’s elite newsrooms.

The PBS report discussed the immigration issue, though without mentioning that the oppressive Islamic Ottoman Empire controlled part of medieval Hungary for over a century, so Hungarians are not kindly disposed toward muslims like the thousands of diverse refugees who arrived a few years back. Memories are long in Eastern Europe.

Here’s the PBS report:

Why Trump’s meeting Hungary’s Orban is a ‘bit controversial’

JUDY WOODRUFF: President Trump welcomed another controversial leader to the White House today. He is Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary.

Orban has roiled Europe with his populism, his restrictions on immigration, and anti-democratic moves in order to consolidate power in Hungary.

William Brangham has the story.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: It was Viktor Orban’s first visit to the White House in 20 years, and he found a like-minded leader in President Trump.

DONALD TRUMP: Probably like me, a little bit controversial, but that’s OK. That’s OK. You have done a good job. And you have kept your country safe.

VIKTOR ORBAN: And I would like to express that we are proud to stand together with the United States on fighting against illegal migration, on terrorism, and to protect and help the Christian communities all around the world.

BRANGHAM: In the 1990s, when he visited President Clinton, Orban was seen by many as a democratic reformer, helping steer his country out of the Soviet era. He returned to power in 2010, but, this time, as a right-wing populist and nationalist.

ORBAN (through translator): European culture based on Christian values must be given primacy on the European continent. Europe’s borders must be protected against the invasion of migrants.

BRANGHAM: Where President Trump has called for a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border…

TRUMP: We’re going to build a big beautiful wall.

BRANGHAM: … Orban actually closed Hungary’s southern border with barbed wire after mainly Syrian refugees surged by almost 450 percent in 2015.

ORBAN (through translator): The biggest danger of all is the immigrants in their millions who are threatening us from the south. That’s the truth. We built the fence. We defended the southern border. Continue reading this article

Philadelphia Muslim Kids Sing in Head-Chop Chorus

Many people claim to be shocked at the video of several kids wearing sharia outfits belt out a musical rendition of the violent parts of the Koran.

Well informed citizens should know by now that the muslim holy book is filled with instructions to kill the hated infidel. For reminders, please see TheReligionOfPeace.com page concerning Violence which begins:

Does the Quran really contain over a hundred verses that sanction violence?

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that speak of war with nonbelievers, usually on the basis of their status as non-Muslims. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called ‘hypocrites’ and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

Unfortunately, Washington has inflicted this poison on America, where it was unknown until recently. Most muslim residents of the US (or their parents) got here via immigration, although there are a few converts. One paper estimates that the muslim population of the United States in 1951 was just 200,000 while today there are millions, a demographic change aided by diversity-admiring pro-immigration politicians, like Barack Obama.

Below, a small group of jihadists killed nearly 3,000 Americans in the 9/11 attacks, based on the Koran’s admonitions.

And now, due to years of muslim immigration, Americans have a sharia-compliant congresswoman in Ilhan Omar and kids residing in Pennsylvania who sing about beheading non-Muslims.

Here’s a Fox News report:

Shocking video of children in Philadelphia Muslim Society: ‘We will chop off their heads’ for Allah, Fox News, May 4 2019

Disturbing footage of Muslim kids saying they would sacrifice themselves and kill for the “army of Allah” surfaced from an Islamic center in Philadelphia.

The Muslim American Society (MAS) Islamic Center in Philadelphia posted the video to its Facebook page celebrating “Ummah Day” in which young children wearing Palestinian scarves sang and read poetry about killing for Allah and the mosque in Jerusalem.

The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), a watchdog group, alerted Fox News to the video.

“These are not isolated incidents; they are happening in major centers of the country – including in Pennsylvania,” MEMRI said in a statement.

In the video, translated by MEMRI, kids can be heard singing: “The land of the Prophet Muhammad’s Night Journey is calling us. Our Palestine must return to us.”

One girl talks about martyrs sacrificing their lives without hesitation to conquer Jerusalem.

“We will defend the land of divine guidance with our bodies, and we will sacrifice our souls without hesitation,” a second girl says. “We will chop off their heads, and we will liberate the sorrowful and exalted Al-Aqsa Mosque. We will lead the army of Allah fulfilling His promise, and we will subject them to eternal torture.”

MAS Philly belongs to the Muslim American Society (MAS), which has 42 chapters in the United States and one in the United Kingdom. (Continues)

This Just In: Illegal Aliens Are Very Expensive for US Taxpayers

On Monday, Fox News reporter William La Jeunesse detailed the freebies that illegal aliens get, stolen from the US taxpayer. Several are particularly infuriating, one being the “$1.24 billion in infant delivery expenses” — that’s anchor babies in plain English. Birth auto-citizenship resulted from the misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment which was passed after the Civil War to assure citizenship for freed slaves. But now thousands of pregnant foreigners having various legality come to the US to give birth to a baby citizen, even giving rise to a massive birth tourism industry.

Another egregious case of government stupidity is giving work permits to asylum seekers after six months even though the people requesting asylum are almost all illegal aliens looking for a handout, as shown by the vast majority of asylum cases are rejected. DHS figures from last fall showed that fewer than 10 percent of Central Americans claiming asylum had legitimate cases.

Below, three foreigners demand free stuff from American taxpayers which they regard as their right for some reason. (Regarding the misleading chyron, there is no benefit to illegal immigration except for corrupt users of cheap labor.)

Say, whatever happened to America, the once self-proclaimed “nation of laws”?

Here is the La Jeunesse report with more examples that will make your wallet hurt:

Most illegal immigrants in US receive government benefits, costing taxpayers billions: experts, By William La Jeunesse, Fox News, April 22, 2019

This week, the U.S. Supreme Court considers whether to count self-identified illegal immigrants in the 2020 census. Cities worry adding the citizenship question could undercount 6.5 million people. Their argument, however, isn’t just about political power but billions of dollars in federal funds states expect.

The case underscores what experts say is a growing cost to taxpayers from the surge of Central American families and unaccompanied minors.

“We’re talking about billions of dollars in taxpayer benefits over the next few years,” said Dan Stein, director of the right-leaning think tank, Federation for American Immigration Reform. “The payout for the taxpayer is enormous and income to the Treasury is miniscule.”

A FAIR study in 2017 found illegal immigrants are a net consumer of taxpayer benefits worth more than $100 billion a year, not including the cost of enforcing the border.

While federal benefits are supposed to be off limits, in practice many are not. More than 25,000 undocumented workers receive subsidized housing, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Children receive free education and most qualify for English lessons and free school breakfast and lunch.

Illegal immigrants do not qualify for Obamacare but under federal law, hospitals and clinics are required to provide urgent medical care without regard to legal status. Pregnant women are entitled to prenatal and postpartum care under the Women, Infants and Children program. Infant delivery costs are paid for by Medicaid. A study in the Journal of the American Medical Association found a federal-state immigrant insurance program cost $2 billion a year in emergency treatment, not including the $1.24 billion in infant delivery expenses.

Illegal immigrants are not entitled to food stamps, but families with U.S.-born children are. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, 31% of such families use the SNAP program and more than 50% of Central American families in the U.S. use at least one welfare program.

This is especially true of asylum seekers said Art Arthur, a former immigration judge now with the Center for Immigration Studies, an immigration think tank. Arthur said because there is a three to five year lag time between apprehension and court appearance, young asylum seekers put down roots, allowing many to access programs they are initially unaware or afraid to use.

“You’re going to buy a house, get a job, have kids,” he said. “So their entire life changes, and that means their claim changes. Because of a lack of a bright line for immigration judges, appeals are endless and people don’t leave.”

Recognizing that many illegal workers fill jobs communities need, 26 states offer them *state-funded* benefits. New York state offers up to $300 a month in cash assistance. Eleven states offer free or subsidized medical and hospital care. California offers food stamps, legal services and benefits for those over 65 or disabled. Gov. Gavin Newsom recently asked for an extra $50 million from lawmakers to serve the state’s illegal immigrant population.

Such sanctuary states and immigrant-friendly cities are an obvious draw, but others say it is all about finding work not using benefits.

The Current Population Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2018 found Central American families may struggle financially in the U.S. but they work (76%) at high rates than native-born Americans (73%).

“At the end of the day people are going to go where their jobs are, not necessarily where the services are,” said Ali Noorani, director of the National Immigration Forum. “So yes, 26 states may provide state-funded access to public benefits. But if those states don’t have a growing economy and don’t have jobs that are open immigrants, much as anybody else, they’re not going to see them.”

Up to 70% of immigrants apprehended at the border this fiscal year are families or unaccompanied minors claiming asylum. Unlike other border crossers, after six months asylum seekers qualify for work permits and most taxpayer subsidies. But because most are unskilled and uneducated, they earn minimum wage or less.

Almost half, according to the census survey, never finished high school. They earn 40% less than U.S.-born workers and about 50% of families live in poverty, requiring community support for food and cash for necessities. Some have sponsors, but most are usually immediate families that are not much better off.

“There is a cost for communities for sure,” Sen. Martha McSally, R-Ariz., said last week outside a Salvation Army shelter in Yuma. “Whether it is in uncompensated care in hospitals or the education system in different ways. It has never really been measured, but it is very real.”

[. . .]

U.S. officials expect a million additional illegal immigrants this fiscal year, as the Border Patrol is currently apprehending up to 4,000 a day. Most will claim asylum, entitling them to government benefits.

Kris Kobach Explains His Border Plan for the Near Future

On Monday, former Kansas Secretary of State and long-time sovereignty defender Kris Kobach appeared on the Tucker Carlson show to discuss the border situation and the inability of the Trump administration to stop the invasion. In March, the total number of aliens admitted under the fake asylum scam was over 100,000, the highest number in 12 years — certainly not the result millions of citizens had in mind when they voted for Trump.

It’s interesting that Kobach says the DHS has been undermining Trump’s enforcement agenda, on top of all the trouble from insufficient laws and liberal judges.

During the interview, Kobach briefly laid out his three-point plan for bringing order to the border. You can read his recent Breitbart article with more details here: Exclusive: Kobach – Three Steps to Solve the Border Crisis.

Spare Audio:

TUCKER CARLSON: More than anything, Americans want secure borders, but they’re not getting any of that, and so resentment is building, and why wouldn’t it? So what can be done to fix it?

Kris Kobach is a former Secretary of State of the state of Kansas, and he joins us tonight. Mr. Kobach, thanks very much for coming on. Why is it so hard for the administration to enact the policies the president ran on?

KRIS KOBACH: I think the biggest impediment has been the Department of Homeland Security itself. Leadership at that agency for the past two years, ever since the president took office, has been unwilling to execute many of the president’s plans. And I can say from direct personal experience — I have been in the room when the president has given express orders to leadership at DHS and been assured that, yes those orders will be carried out, and then a year later, nothing has happened.

So there has been deliberate foot dragging, and I think that’s why you’re seeing the White House take the necessary steps to clean house at DHS, and put people in hopefully who will quickly execute what the president orders. I mean, it was the president who was elected, not the agency, and the agency need needs to enact and move quickly to execute the president’s objectives and policies. That has not been happening, and it’s been it’s been really remarkable how badly the agency has been doing in executing what the president has asked.

CARLSON: Well, that’s not just a hope: it’s a constitutional requirement. All authority in the executive branch flows from the one guy who’s elected by voters who’s the president.

So if you’re running DHS tomorrow, what would you do first?

KOBACH: First three things I would do to address this current problem on the border is number one, we would publish the final version of the regulation that settles the Flores settlement; it supersedes the Flores settlement. Basically, it allows how the United States can detain an entire family unit together so you wouldn’t have separation of families and detain them as long as is necessary. That could be done tomorrow.

Second thing is, I would deploy the thousands of FEMA trailers either to border cities or to military bases in Texas and Arizona and set up processing centers. Instead of turning loose these bogus asylum applicants onto the American streets never to be seen again, let’s put them in mobile homes. Let’s process their claims. Let’s ship the judges in. Have the claims processed right there. As soon as their claim is denied, put them on a passenger plane and fly them right back home. Word will get out in the villages back home — hey, it doesn’t work to get in these caravans anymore. You’re not going to be released into the United States.

The third thing that I would do is publish a regulation that tells Mexico in so many words, no, your illegal aliens in the United States can not send remittances home anymore, you can’t wire things through Western Union. You could do that with a Treasury regulation and tell Mexico, look, that regulation’s going to take effect and become final unless you sign a Safe Third Country agreement like we have with Canada, so that any asylum applicant, when they safe country they step foot in, mainly Mexico they have to apply there for asylum. They can’t walk all the way through Mexico and then say, ‘Oh, we’re applying for asylum in the United States.’

I’d do those three things right away, keep building the wall, and then there is about 50 other executive actions. Continue reading this article

Senator Cotton Urges the IRS to Investigate the Southern Poverty Law Center

It’s good news that Senator Tom Cotton is requesting an IRS inquiry into the Southern Poverty Law Center, arguably the most corrupt organization ever to get a non-profit designation from US government. (Read his letter here.) Whether the IRS will respond positively is hard to say, but the SPLC certainly has piles of questionable cash.

In particular, it’s rather curious for a non-profit to park millions of dollars offshore in the Cayman Islands, a topic that might be of interest to government bean counters. In fact, a March 13 article from the Free Beacon had the headline: Southern Poverty Surpasses Half Billion in Assets; $121 Million Now Offshore.

The Poverty Palace edifice showed signs of coming unglued last month: on March 13, the organization’s president Richard Cohen fired founder Morris Dees over allegations of sexual harassment; a few days later Cohen resigned, admitting responsibility for problems that occurred on his watch. A former Obama White House official, Tina Tchen, is pursuing an audit of the organization to investigate charges of sexual harassment, gender discrimination and racism.

As Tucker Carlson observes, the SPLC is essentially a shakedown racket, raising money by falsely accusing political opponents of racism or bigotry.

Spare audio:

TUCKER CARLSON: The Southern Poverty Law Center recently lost its founder Morris Dees and its President Richard Cohen, after multiple allegations that the organization they ran had become a hotbed of sexual harassment, sexism and racism. But that’s not an SPLC’s only problem right now. It calls itself an anti-hate organization. But in fact the SPLC strongly resembles a racket.

They’ve amassed more than half a billion dollars by calling any enemy of the Democratic Party a racist or an anti-gay bigot or whatever works in an effort to purge them from society.

For doing all of that, they get an indirect government support because they are a tax exempt entity. Senator Tom Cotton is a Republican that represents the state of Arkansas, he recently sent a letter to the IRS urging them to investigate the SPLC’s tax exempt status.

Senator Cotton joins us tonight. Senator, thanks very much for coming on. So just the obvious question first, this is an organization of a small organization that has a half a billion dollar endowment, how are they tax exempt in fact?

SEN. TOM COTTON: So the Southern Poverty Law Center has over half a billion dollars. About a quarter of it, Tucker is parked in overseas accounts as best we can tell. I don’t know many charitable advisers that say it is best practice to send your endowment to overseas accounts in the Caribbean. That’s one reason why Charity Watch gives them an F rating — a very well deserved F rating.

Because as you said, Tucker, they’ve really become kind of a hate group themselves. They have the so called hate map and they use it to stigmatize their political opponents, you know, respectable center right organizations like the Family Research Council, their Alliance Defending Freedom.

It’s fine if you don’t agree with those organizations. There are plenty of groups on the left I don’t agree with, but I don’t try to stigmatize them as a hate group and then go peddle that to CNN, the New York Times to try to attack their donors. Continue reading this article

Open Borders Welcome Central America to the US

Tucker Carlson has been somewhat restrained the past few weeks, perhaps because of all the left-wingers who have been trying to get him off the air. But on Tuesday, he came out swinging, passionately taking on the illegal immigration issue that sets lefties off.

One of the clips shown as evidence was of an illegal alien man who brought his kid along to assure his entrance to stupid-generous America — he will be rewarded financially for imperiling his boy when he should be prosecuted for child endangerment.

How backwards can government get? The United States is supposed to be the nation by and for American citizens; it is not the World Welfare Office for the moochers of the planet. When foreigners carry their homeland flags as they assault the American border, it is Invasion, not “migration.”

Below, Hondurans carry their national flag as the approach the US border, invasion style.

On Wednesday, Congressman David Schweikart (R-AZ) remarked in an interview with Stuart Varney, “If you’re from Phoenix, we’ve had almost 20,000 individuals dropped off at night in the center of our city — that’s a crisis.”

Democrats and some Republicans are willing to put the future of this nation at risk for short term political or financial gain. President Trump has gone over to the dark side of increasing legal immigration even while automation is replacing more humans in low-skilled jobs every day. Does he really think his base will turn out to vote for him in 2020?

Here’s Tucker:

Spare Audio:

TUCKER CARLSON: Good evening and welcome to “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” Donald Trump ran on the promise that he would secure our southern border when he ran in 2016. He ran on other things, too — trade, Obamacare and ending the Iran deal, but it was immigration that resonated. No other candidate was saying anything like it. Voters loved it — that’s why they yelled, “Build that wall” at his rallies.

More than two years later, we have less control though over immigration into this country than we did the day Trump launched his campaign. Entire populations from Latin American are moving north. In February, authorities apprehended 76,000 illegal arrivals at the Mexican border, but last month that number had ballooned to 100,000.

They are coming because they know that they can come. Our current system can’t stop them. If illegal immigrants show up here with children, they are almost certain to be released into the United States. They will never be deported.

Close to 100 percent of children and families detained at the border last year are still here. It’s a scam. Before 2013, only one percent of aliens arriving at the U.S. border sought asylum based on credible fear in their home countries. Now, more than 10 percent do. They know the script. Even CNN can’t lie about it anymore. Continue reading this article

Living In America Is an “Everyday Assault” Says Minnesota Congresswoman Omar

Ilhan Omar is quite the well publicized figure in the magazine Vogue Arabia — yes, there is such a publication, apparently dedicated to explaining the possibilities for style even in the misogynous Middle East. Anything for a buck (or riyal), as they say.

Naturally the election of the Somali muslim to the US Congress is a big deal in the sharia zones abroad, who are observing activities within the Great Satan for signs of weakness.

Rep. Ilhan Omar is now being presented as a fashion icon in addition to her reputation as a divisive political figure.

However, the American mainstream press has ignored the unseemly reports about Omar marrying her brother to ease immigration to the US. For details, see the investigative pieces of Powerline’s Scott Johnson, ILHAN OMAR: CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER and The Curious Case of Ilhan Omar.

Interestingly, she is quite honest about hating America, a nation which rescued her and her family from a Kenyan refugee camp, yet she says living here is “an everyday assault.”

On his Monday show, Tucker Carlson characterized America as the most generous country in history, but Washington’s choices about the recipients of kindness has not always been wise. It would be better not to welcome historic enemies of Western Civilization inside the gates, and certainly not elect them to the US Congress. But immigration demography will have its effects, and they were totally predictable: admit sharia followers and eventually some will attain a degree of political power.

TUCKER CARLSON (0:58): Omar’s country collapsed as a child. She lived for years in Kenya in that refugee camp; she may have died there without outside help. But help came. From where? From here — America.

And this country didn’t just welcome Ilhan Omar to America: we paid to relocate her family and many others from a foreign continent purely for the sake of being good people, for altruism, because no country in history has been as generous as we are to places we have no ties to and no obligations we’ve been kind anyway, because that’s who we are.

Despite her humble and foreign birth Omar has been elected to our national lawmaking body and good for her — so how does she repay her adopted country, the one that may literally have saved her life? She attacks it as hateful and racist.

And for that she is applauded by the Democratic Party because they view this country as hateful and racist too. The more Ilhan Omar’s America has, they believe, the better, But is that what’s best for America? Here’s another suggestion we should think about. Maybe our immigration system should prioritize people who actually like this country and are grateful to be here. Why wouldn’t we do that?

Here are some clips from Omar’s Vogue interview:

Ilhan Omar: “To Me, the Hijab Means Power, Liberation, Beauty, and Resistance”, Vogue Arabia, March 28, 2019

Twenty years after becoming a US citizen, Ilhan Omar made history in her adopted country. With her hand on her grandfather’s Qur’an, she was sworn into the US Congress, becoming the first hijabi member to do so. The scene was all the more poignant as it marked the lifting of a 181-year-old ban preventing anyone from wearing any kind of headwear in the chamber. Along with Rashida Tlaib (who doesn’t wear a hijab), she was also one of the first two Muslim women to enter Congress, and the first Somali-American. [. . .]

As the US representative for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district, one of Omar’s policies includes promoting and establishing a just immigration system; something that is at odds with the current political climate in the country. “It’s challenging,” she says of living in President Trump’s America, where her status and heritage is constantly criticized. “It’s an everyday assault. Every day, a part of your identity is threatened, demonized, and vilified. Trump is tapping into an ugly part of our society and freeing its ugliness.”

Omar is an example of what Democrats have in mind for America with their immigration project of extreme diversity.

Obama’s DHS Secretary Agrees the Border Is in Crisis

The Democrats run the House of Representatives these days, and they are refusing to deal with the border meltdown by claiming the flood of illegal aliens invading the country is not a real crisis, though it looks pretty bad to many — including President Obama’s DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson who appeared Friday on MSNBC with his recollections:

JEH JOHNSON: When I was in office in Kirsten Nielsen’s job at her desk, I’d get to work around 6:30 in the morning and there’d be my intelligence book sitting on my desk, the PDB, and also the apprehension numbers from the day before, and I’d look at them every morning.

It would be the first thing I’d look at, and I probably got too close to the problem, and my staff will tell you — if it was under 1,000 apprehensions the day before, that was a relatively good number, and if it was about 1,000 a relatively bad number and I was going to be in a bad mood the whole day. On Tuesday there were 4,000 apprehensions.

I know that a thousand overwhelms the system. I cannot begin to imagine what 4,000 a day looks like, so we are truly in a crisis.

Still, they keep coming because they can. President Trump continues to insist he’s building the wall, but that won’t stop the thousands of illegal aliens from claiming asylum at the front door, which is what they do after they get here from Honduras and beyond.

Meanwhile the Third World population keeps growing, so millions more want to come to America for the jobs and free stuff.
