Rasmussen Poll: Americans Support Citizenship on Census

The Rasmussen pollsters have surveyed the recent controversy about whether US citizenship should be a question on the Census. The topic caused an explosion among Democrats who depend on non-citizens and illegal aliens in states like California where big numbers of foreigners have inflated the number of Representatives in the House. If Congressional districts were apportioned on the basis of US citizens, California would lose seats and the heartland would gain.

As Breitbart.com headlined on March 29, 2020 Census: Counting Citizens Likely to Shift Power from Illegal Alien-Flooded Coasts to Middle America.

The Rasmussen poll shows the the people want citizenship to count.

The U.S. Census Bureau released their 2020 census questions, including one that asks whether respondents are legal U.S. citizens. Americans recognize the importance of the census and are on board with including the question moving forward.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 89% of American Adults agree it’s at least somewhat important for the government to get as accurate a count of the U.S. population as possible in the U.S. Census, including 69% who say it’s Very Important.
