Friday’s New York Times front page included an article with the newsprint title Facing Queries [...]]]> Author Peter Schweizer has been making the media rounds doing interviews on his new book Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite, and his attention focused on the crooked Biden family is beginning to have an effect.

Friday’s New York Times front page included an article with the newsprint title Facing Queries About His Son, Biden Is by Turns Calm or Curt (reprinted by MSN.com). So it appears the elite media is pulling back its support for the 2020 candidate.

What’s notable about the Biden clan is how many family members rode the gravy train to riches on the basis of the name and influence. Schweizer has dug up people beyond Hunter that most Americans have never heard of.

Below, the Biden family alleged crooks include (left to right) Joe’s brother James, son Hunter, son-in-law Howard Krein, brother Frank and sister Valerie Biden Owens.

Lou Dobbs recently interviewed the author to get a taste of the Biden family business. Dobbs seemed amazed and almost amused by the brazen arrogance of the clan.

Schweizer noted how atypical it is for so many family members to be engaged in corruption-based crime:

“It’s remarkable. I mean the Biden family, you’ve got five family members involved. I call them the Biden Five; they’re like the Jackson Five but they don’t sing, it’s corruption, and I’ve never seen this before. You know we’ve talked many times, Lou, on your show about corruption involving Democrats, Republicans. Maybe there’s one family member, maybe there’s two. . .

I’ve never run across one that has five, and on top of the fact that there are five involved, it’s like a corrupt United Nations. You’ve got Hunter Biden doing deals in Ukraine, doing deals in China with state actors, corrupt old guards; you got the brother James who’s with this construction firm that’s set up by a family friend. They get the contract to build a hundred thousand homes in Iraq they get contracts to do work for the State Department’s. Then you’ve got this other brother Frank meeting with the Costa Rican president for these energy deals, and of course he has no background in energy. It just goes on and on.”

The book ranked #1 on Amazon 10 days before release, surely based on Schweizer’s reputation as a thorough investigator. It won’t help Joe Biden’s faltering campaign, that’s for sure. Other Democrats get criticism as well: the table of contents shows chapters on Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar.

But at least as concerning has been the theft of intellectual property that has been going on for years.

It’s crazy for America to continue admitting Chinese immigrants and students as if there were no danger from such naive openness. Of course the internet makes long-distance theft easier, but there’s nothing like in-person spying to locate and steal valuable information even in our connected age.

Fortunately there is attention now being paid to the Chinese spy threat, according to author Bill Gertz, who recently published the book Deceiving the Sky: Inside Communist China’s Drive for Global Supremacy.

The Justice Department’s special China unit is aggressively prosecuting technology theft and other illicit activities by Beijing’s spies and government officials, a senior department official said in an interview.

China was implicated in more than 80% of all economic espionage cases brought by the Justice Department since 2012, and more than 60% of all trade secrets theft cases were linked to Beijing’s aggressive spying and acquisition programs, U.S. officials said.

Those activities involve traditional human and cyber intelligence gathering operations as well as what officials term “nontraditional” spying: the use of students, business people and other nonprofessional collectors of intelligence.

“It’s an objective fact that the number of economic espionage investigations has increased dramatically in recent years,” Adam Hickey, deputy assistant attorney general in the Justice Department’s national security division, told The Washington Times.

“That could be a function of us seeing more or the private sector reporting more. It also could suggest that China is doing more,” said Mr. Hickey, a key official in a program called the China Initiative.

China’s efforts also involve purchases of American companies, a noncriminal matter but one involving Justice Department officials who are part of the Treasury Department-led Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. Congress has passed reform measures strengthening regulatory procedures used to control Chinese investments that could harm national security.

At the Federal Communications Commission, Justice Department officials help counter Chinese electronic spying in the United States through a group called Team Telecom.

Attorney General William Barr recently backed the FCC decision announced in November to ban the use of telecommunications gear in the United States made by Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies over electronic spying concerns. (Continues)

Even worse may have been the reaffirmation of increasing [...]]]> Fox Business TV host Lou Dobbs had been an enthusiastic supporter of the president, but the recent sight of Trump cozying up in the White House with Apple CEO Tim Cook and US Chamber of Commerce honcho Tom Donahue sent the broadcaster over the edge.

Even worse may have been the reaffirmation of increasing immigration that President Trump first made in the SOTU. Near the end of the White House presser, a reporter asked, “How much more immigration would you like to see?”

The president responded, “Well, we’re going to have a lot of people coming into the country. We want a lot of people coming in. And we need it.”

It’s interesting how Trump doesn’t seem to like the word “immigrants” when it is preceded by “more” or “increased” so we hear about “people coming in.” Apparently he can discipline his speech when he wants to.

Millions of Americans did not vote for candidate Trump in 2016 to increase the number of foreigners living here, taking jobs and benefits from the country; quite the contrary.

There are still millions of American citizens who are unemployed and should be trained and/or hired rather than importing foreigners.

Dobbs voiced his disappointment on his March 6 show:

LOU DOBBS: President Trump’s America First economic initiatives have produced higher wage growth in this country, higher productivity for American workers and business. The president’s policies have forced US companies to pay workers more money and to boost productivity.

What are the numbers? American wages have risen three percent in the past year; they’re projected to rise again rise in to 2020 by those projections, and at the same time productivity projected to rise still.

Tonight I’d like to share a few thoughts, however, about what I fear is a new direction for the president and his administration and what could very likely be a catastrophe for our working men and women, small business and entrepreneurs — our middle class, the American family, the very people this president has represented from the moment he announced he would run for the presidency.

Now I try never to overstate, let alone indulge in hyperbole but what we watched unfold today at the White House was to me a disastrous policy turn and heartbreaking. What the White House billed as a meeting of major corporate CEOs who will serve on the president’s workforce advisory board, that board to be co-chaired by presidential adviser Ivanka Trump and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. Their purpose, their concerns — here’s the president on both issues:

PRESIDENT TRUMP: We’re gonna have a lot of people coming into the country; we want a lot of people coming in, and we need it. We want to have the companies grow and the only way they’re going to grow is if we give them the the workers, and the only way we’re going to have the workers is to do exactly what we’re doing.

DOBBS: To be clear, the presence of the Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue is impossible to misinterpret. DC’s biggest lobbyists wants to reverse the direction of rising labor costs and return to the cheap labor policies of the 20 years that preceded the Trump presidency. I don’t even know why this White House would let him in the door. He is the enemy of this administration and absolutely tries to reverse every policy in business and economics that this president has advanced.

The White House could only muster by the way 7 corporate CEOs for this big event. In what should have been a reminder to the president’s advisors and counselors that in politics, as in life, it is important to never forget who your friends are. And if this White House thinks that listening to the beguiling prattle of Tim Cook, Tom Donohue, RINO senators like Susan Collins is helpful to this president, then the battle for the forgotten man and woman in this country will be decided by the very establishment this president ran against. An establishment that spends vast sums of money and energy every single day trying to destroy him and his policies and his historic presidency.

That Mr. Trump would advance the interest of the globalist elites ahead of our citizens would be a tragic reversal on any day, but today — on the same day the Commerce Department reported the United States had the largest trade deficit in our history, the same day the president of the New York Fed said straight forwardly economic growth is slowing, that the southern border is being overrun by record numbers of illegal immigrants — it all means the White House has simply lost its way and that the nation’s heart will be after all broken by the very same people who brought 50 years of consecutive trade deficits and the export of millions of middle-class jobs and who have fed the swamp for decades.

I have a request tonight please let your Congressman and this White House know what you think about all of this and please be very honest with them. I’d make the same request of the advisers and the counselors to this president when this have served him and the nation so poorly.

LOU DOBBS: Well, as we’ve reported here, literally for years, there are more than 3,500 communist Chinese front companies operating in this country with the specific purpose of targeting sensitive American intelligence and information technology. Cyber attacks against U.S. military networks soared by 55 percent last year.

Despite such warnings, official Washington has long been oblivious to the billions of dollars in annual rip-offs suffered by business and industry; specifically the United States Trade Representative reported this year that “Chinese theft of American IP [intellectual property] currently costs between $225 billion and $600 billion annually.”

Shamefully, America makes it easy for them to steal our most valuable secrets, from military to industrial technology. One of the stupidest is the shocking number of Chinese students welcomed into our universities where they study the latest science. From there, some advance to employment in the top American companies. The practice is a continuing security threat — plus, young Americans are pushed to the side by schools that want the full tuition paid by foreigners.

Clearly the trend is going the wrong way, indicated by more than 350,000 Chinese students filling US university classrooms in 2016. Why allow any when the policy endangers America’s safety? Zero Chinese students is the right number.

Communist China is using every strategy in the book to undermine and surpass the United States.

But lately President Trump has brought an enforcement mindset to the trade relationship with the ChiComs.

And not a moment too soon. One recent example has been China’s brazen rip-off of an American pipe company, stealing its identity and logo to peddle shoddy products.

Below, Charlotte Pipe and Foundry has been in business for more than a century, but it is now being assaulted by the Chinese theft of its good name.

The theft shows the basic lawlessness of Red China on the global stage.

Charlotte Pipe and Foundry was founded in North Carolina 117 years ago. The company is one of only three surviving domestic pipe manufacturers.

Company officials attending a foreign trade show recently were stunned when one looked over to see the Charlotte name, colors and logo posted above a booth advertising a table of iron and plastic fittings stamped with the Charlotte name.

“It just represents the broader Chinese strategy. They don’t recognize international norms when it comes to IP [intellectual property] protection,” said Charlotte vice president Bradford Mullen. “They are constantly pushing the envelope and we just think it is a threat to our company and our country.”

Charlotte sued the Chinese company Yitai Plastics of Shanghai in 2017 for allegedly stealing its trademark. Records show Yitai registered the ‘Charlotte’ trademark in China in 2007 and in Singapore in 2015. Mullen said most countries Yitai would have had to stipulate in legal documents the integrity of the trademark. Not China.

“We see that across a broad range of industries where they’ve stolen technology, they steal intellectual property, they counterfeit products. It’s rampant,” said Mullen.

Charlotte Pipe also helped take the Chinese before the International Trade Commission for dumping cast iron pipe fittings on the U.S. market. The commission ruled in the Americans’ favor in August, finding that the Chinese manufacturers had used state subsidies to undersell the fair market value of U.S. products by as much as 360 percent.

“When you have a paranoid regime that is not feeling bound by the rule of law — they cheat,” said Jim Lewis of the Center for Strategic Studies.

“Five years ago, people were unwilling to confront China. And now nobody feels that way.”

In a scathing June report, the White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy concluded that the People’s Republic of China steals critical U.S. technologies through physical theft, cyberespionage, counterfeiting, evasion of U.S. export laws and the forced transfer of intellectual property from U.S. companies hoping to enter the Chinese market.

“People may not say it publicly, but yeah, the president is doing the right thing. We need to confront China and now is a good time to do it. The longer we wait the harder it will be,” said Lewis, a former Commerce Department official specializing in high-tech trade with China.

President Trump set a March 2 deadline to conclude trade talks with China. Next week’s round in Washington is considered critical if the U.S. is to get the sweeping type of structural reforms it called for. Recent reports suggest China is not willing to level the playing field with U.S. and European competitors or give up subsidies to the big domestic manufacturers who have reshaped their economy by massive exports to the West.

On his April 2, 2007, CNN show, Dobbs remarked about Chinese spy Chi Mak and the government behind the espionage:

Now, what I find particularly galling about this is that the president of the United States and neither the House speaker nor the leader of the Senate, is addressing this issue publicly. And everyone knows it’s going on. We’re reporting it on this broadcast.

It’s incredible.

On Wednesday, Lou Dobbs was still the diligent watchdog, reporting the news that 10 Chinese spies have been charged with hacking US companies trying to steal jet engine technology. “It’s only now that we’re beginning to take action against them,” he observed.

Red China seems not to have changed that much at the core.

China has sent thousands of scientists affiliated with its armed forces to western universities — especially in countries that share intelligence with the US — and is building a web of research collaboration that could boost Beijing’s military technology development.

About 2,500 researchers from Chinese military universities spent time at foreign universities — led by the US and UK — over the past decade, and many hid their military affiliations, according to a new report from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), a think-tank partly funded by Australia’s department of defence.
