Dr. Drew Pinsky recently opined what many must have suspected — that the virus scare is just the media being hysterical about a public health situation that is not anywhere near verging on a pandemic. In fact, coronavirus is far less serious than the flu in terms of actual fatalities.
But “coronavirus” has lots of syllables and can be blamed on Trump (wrongly) rather than China, so the press can’t leave it alone.

INGRAHAM: My next guest says some of those in the media need to sit back and let the professionals do their work. Joining me now, Dr. Drew Pinsky, an addiction medicine specialist, host of “Dr. Drew After Dark” podcast. Dr. Drew, how much damage is the media causing now the way they’re covering this?
DR. DREW PINSKY: Essentially the entire problem we are having is due to panic, not the virus. I was saying this six weeks ago.
We have six deaths from the coronavirus, 18,000 deaths from the flu. Why isn’t the message, get your flu vaccine? This is amongst us. It is milder than we thought. The fatality rate is going to drop as we identify more cases.
The entirety of the problem now is that people are being pushed into bankruptcy. Travel is down. The supply chain is being interrupted because of panic, not because of the virus. The flu virus in this country is vastly more consequential, and nobody is talking about that.
INGRAHAM: And Dr. Drew, I was traveling over the weekend, four different flights. And people are wearing masks on the plane. Now, it makes traveling kind of interesting, you can’t really see their facial expressions. But that does zero to prevent you from getting the flu. Zero, correct?
PINSKY: It’s panic. It’s panic. That is panic. That is people engaged in panicked behavior. And that is what concerns me. It is a press-induced panic that will have real consequences. It will not be the virus.
Listen, The Journal of the American Medical Association published lead articles this week about what they were reporting on the coronavirus. But one of the things they asked was why did the Chinese government clamp down so hard? Was there something special about this virus?
The report was, the reason was the holiday, the Chinese New Year was coming, and during the New Year, apparently everybody travels, and they wanted to get it under control before the holiday, so they clamped down quickly. They got it under control. The holiday came, people traveled. It did not spread. They did exactly what they needed to do.
And then we need to calm down. It is here, it’s mild, and the press needs to shut up. It’s really getting to be a problem.

Last summer, the county had a run of weekly arrests of illegal aliens for rape and sexual assault.
In fact, Montgomery County’s Sanctuary policy and the resulting crime wave by illegal aliens prompted a protest rally in September attended by writer Michelle Malkin and radio host Larry O’Connor.
Fast forward to the present, and the Sanctuary policy and illegal alien crime both remain in the county.
On Wednesday, Laura Ingraham presented a brief history of Trump vs. sanctuary, then followed with the most recent illegal alien sex crime.

]]>TUCKER CARLSON: The Trump administration won a victory in Federal Court today and its ongoing fight against the nation’s many sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants. Chief breaking news correspondent, Trace Gallagher has the details on what happened. Hey, Trace.
TRACE GALLAGHER: Hey, Tucker. This is a big battle victory for the President because it means he might go on to win the war.
Remember back in 2017, the administration moved to withhold about $400 million in federal grant money from cities and states that have implemented sanctuary laws and policies where they refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities when it comes to dealing with illegal immigrants.
The cities and states quickly filed lawsuits and a series of lower courts ruled in their favor. Later, the more liberal 3rd, 7th, and 9th Circuit Courts of Appeal upheld the lower court decisions saying the administration had to give up the grant money.
But now the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York has sided with the administration and because there is now a major conflict between the various Circuit Courts, it’s likely the Supreme Court will step in to make the final call and decide from the court leaning five-four conservative, SCOTUS has repeatedly and long said the Federal government maintains broad power over states when it comes to immigration policies — Tucker.
CARLSON: Interesting. Trace Gallagher, thanks for that.
GALLAGHER: Sure.
LAURA INGRAHAM: This was a huge victory for the Trump administration today. A federal appeals court ruling that he can in fact withhold funding from so-called sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with ICE. Perhaps the president should start with the sanctuary in his own backyard, the D.C. suburb of Montgomery County, Maryland, just a few miles from where we are broadcasting tonight.
In the span of just two months in 2019, the county saw at least nine illegal aliens arrested for rape and sex abuse crimes, many of them against children. And this week we saw perhaps the most disturbing case yet. Two high school students aged 19 and 20, yes, you heard that right, were arrested and charged with raping two different 11-year-old girls — 11-year-olds. One of the suspects, the 20-year-old, is a Salvadoran national who is living here illegally.
So what’s a 20-year-old man, illegal alien, doing enrolled in a public high school, paid for by the tax dollars obviously? Maryland law requires that all residents up to the age of 21 get free public education for high school, including illegal aliens. If you are a Maryland resident, maybe just think about calling your representative, ask why your tax dollars are going towards this? That would be a good idea.
And my next guest says Montgomery County has become a hotbed of illegal alien crime, and now it’s bleeding into his county, Frederick County. Joining me now is Chuck Jenkins, sheriff of Frederick County, Maryland. Sheriff, what’s your message tonight to the people watching all of this? They’re thinking, oh, this is just one county, or two counties.
SHERIFF CHUCK JENKINS: Hi, Laura. You know what, this has been affecting Frederick County for years. Prior to them even declaring century status, we were seeing the criminal element, the criminal illegal aliens come up from Montgomery and P.G. counties, bleed into Frederick County. We’ve been dealing with crime.
INGRAHAM: I just want to put this up on the screen so people understand the scope of what we’re talking about. There are 10 illegals that were arrested for sexual assault from July to November of 2019. Here are their names. And this is during this span, this is when the Montgomery County executive Mark Elrich signed that executive order barring ICE agents from actually going into the court houses to arrest these people. And meanwhile we’ve got the laundry list of individuals raping, in many cases, young minors.
JENKINS: Absolutely. We’ve seen gang crime. We’ve seen machete killings in Frederick County. We have seen rape and sexual assault.
INGRAHAM: How long have you been in law enforcement?
JENKINS: I’ve been 30 years in Frederick County.
INGRAHAM: Let’s go back 30 years because that’s about the time I moved to this area. I can’t believe I’m saying that. That’s how long I’ve been here. That’ about the time I moved here, 1987, pretty much right after college. It was a different place.
JENKINS: It was a different world up there, then, absolutely. Frederick County is still largely rural county, population 250,000 people, but we never saw the problems with the gang crime, the criminal element that has bled over from the hotbeds of illegal aliens in P.G. and Montgomery County.
INGRAHAM: So the people Frederick County, the law abiding taxpayers who work hard and try to send their kids to public schools, why are they electing these people? Why are people getting elected in the state house?
JENKINS: I don’t understand that. As a matter of fact, I was in Annapolis today fighting century state bills that may come into play this year. It’s lunacy. It’s absolute lunacy. Listen —
INGRAHAM: What do you say to the average American watching in middle America tonight, watching this and feeling helpless? They feel helpless like they can’t — if they are living in a blue county, they feel helpless.
JENKINS: They do. They need to put pressure on their elected officials, their legislators, their congressmen, their local sheriffs and chiefs of police. In Frederick County, we got a little bit different up there. We work with ICE, we cooperate with ICE. We’re a 287-G county.
INGRAHAM: You are helping them.
JENKINS: We arrest, we detain, and we deport criminal aliens, absolutely. Over 12 years we have deported 1,563, including 110 criminal gang members. Our streets are fairly safe.
INGRAHAM: Have you ever seen machete killings, MS-13 a few years ago?
JENKINS: Never heard of them 30 years ago, ever.
INGRAHAM: How about 20 years ago?
JENKINS: Not even 20. I’d say in the past 10 to 12 years we’ve really seen the influx of this violence. And Laura, remember this, the populations that are coming to this country are from the most violent countries on the face the planet.
INGRAHAM: The best and the brightest, we are getting the best and the brightest. Sheriff, thank you for what you’re doing. Stay safe and thank you.
It’s amazing how little political leaders know about the people over whom they preside. Or maybe elites just pretend to be ignoramuses so they can display their power and perhaps stir up some trouble in the process.
Clearly, armed Americans defend their own or someone else’s safety all the time. Monday’s Washington Times had a front page photo of Stephen Willeford who used his firearm to chase off a shooter from a Texas church in 2017.

]]>LAURA INGRAHAM: Today thousands of law-abiding gun owners rallied at Virginia’s capital to oppose the gun-grabbing policies of Democrats in the state house. The media did their job, and best job, to smear those at the rally as gun toting racists. So we sent Fox’s own Griff Jenkins to Richmond to give you the real story.
CROWD: USA! USA! USA!
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: None of us out here want to cause violence at all. We all just want peace. But I would love to have the ability to protect myself, my family, and everyone else around me.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And I heard a lot about violence. There’s really no violence happening out here.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: They want to have universal background checks, which we know is a first step toward gun registration, which we don’t need. Target criminals and violations of law-abiding criminals whether it’s weapons or other things, don’t target the law-abiding citizens.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It all starts with the Second Amendment. Once they take that from you than it’s one right after another.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The rest of Virginia if you look at the Second Amendment sanctuary city movement and counties, we don’t want gun control. We’re not going to comply with your gun control.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You would have a better chance of laying in the creek and kissing a copperhead than you would getting the firearms from Virginians.
INGRAHAM: I want to hang out with all those people; they look really fun. Joining me now is someone who was at that rally, Richard Vaughan, sheriff of Grayson County Virginia.
Sheriff, we really appreciate your being with us tonight. I know it wasn’t easy, so thanks so much. What is going to happen in your county if the bills that the Virginia Democrats are pushing go into effect?
SHERIFF RICHARD VAUGHAN: Grayson County is a Second Amendment sanctuary, and if these bills are passed as proposed, I know they can still make some changes on this bill. But if they are passed as proposed, they will not be enforced in Grayson County because they are unconstitutional. We took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Virginia, and that’s what we’re going to do. We are not going to arrest law-abiding citizens for having guns.
INGRAHAM: I pressed one of the State Democrat gun control advocates who serves now in the statehouse last week; he insisted, sheriff, that guns that are in possession of people now would be grandfathered in, and they wouldn’t be forced to be turned over, you wouldn’t have to turn your guns over. But that is not what I understand. There is a lot of loosey-goosey language in this legislation that would mean you become a felon if you own a particular type of semi-automatic weapon that has a big enough magazine in it, 10, more than 10, you are in big trouble.
VAUGHAN: Absolutely, Senate Bill 16 that died in the committee last week thankfully, but then there’s also a House bill to the same effect that could gun grab semi-automatic weapons like the AR-15 which is an Armalite rifle. That is nothing but a .22 caliber rifle, it’s not much more than a squirrel gun. So these high-capacity magazines, why are we telling homeowners that they can’t have a high-capacity magazine there to defend themselves in these situations? We hear of cases all the time where we have home intruders coming into residences, and they need a high-capacity magazine to be able to defend themselves. A lot of people that are disabled have guns in the home and have to defend themselves.
INGRAHAM: Sheriff, we sent our Griff Jenkins down there, and he was all through the crowd today. These are people from all parts of the state, they were men, women, ethnically diverse, racially diverse, people who, most of them were carrying their weapons because they were outside the perimeter, but Northam didn’t allow anyone to go on the property near the capital with their firearm. And also, you can see the crowd is much more representative in the overhead shot there.
And then they didn’t allow drones. I didn’t understand that. The FAA said no drones could be flown overhead either, I guess to take pictures? I don’t even understand that. It seems like they are curtailing everybody’s rights going into this rally, almost hoping to tick people off to spark some kind of unrest, but that never happened.
VAUGHAN: Absolutely. It definitely was not a state of emergency. I spent several hours in the crowd in uniform with two of my deputies and some of my constituents. We met some of the best people in the country. We ate breakfast this morning with a gentleman from Houston who drove 19 hours just to be here in Virginia to help us protect our Second Amendment rights. We met people from Florida, Pennsylvania, militia groups, people carrying Armalite rifles, everybody there was armed. And they estimated nearly 60,000 people, yet there wasn’t a single person even arrested.
And the governor made the statement today that law enforcement did a great job of de-escalating the crowd. And I agree, law enforcement did do a great job, but there was no de-escalation needed. Everybody we met there came up to us, shook our hands, and thanked us for being there and standing up for their Second Amendment rights.
INGRAHAM: Sheriff, compare that to the Antifa rallies, what happens at those things, right? You’ve got people with clubs, and cement they’re throwing at people, and trash everywhere, and assaulting people, and the media does a big collective yawn. You guys show up, a huge rally for the Second Amendment, no problems, no trash, no assaults, and you get the sense the media is unhappy that this happened. They are unhappy it didn’t play up to their stereotype.
Sheriff, we are with you all the way. Stay safe out there. Thank you for what you do for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and for the cause of the Second Amendment. Thank you, sir.

LAURA INGRAHAM: Now, before we get back to Victor, you said in this new piece of yours that the goal for the Obama administration was never to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. It was to stop them from building it during the Obama term. That’s quite an accusation.
LEE SMITH: Well, I mean if you look at what happened — if you look at the sunset clauses meaning the different provisions built into the deal that were set to expire sometime after Barack Obama left the White House, that’s very clear. It tells you what they were doing. They were passing it on to the next administration.

The Iran deal was never meant to stop Iran from building a bomb—it was supposed to delay it until disaster happened on someone else’s watch
In the wake of the targeted killing of Iranian terror master Qassem Soleimani, an interesting fight has broken out—after Donald Trump failed to brief them in advance of the strike, Democrats began fulsomely criticizing the president. This led Republican lawmakers to accuse their counterparts across the aisle of pro-terrorist sympathies. Maybe Republicans are still sore that Barack Obama compared them to Iranian hardliners like Soleimani for denouncing his signature foreign policy initiative, the Iran nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Or maybe it’s something else.
Because the fact is that the Democrats are not pro-terrorist. They’re simply intent on protecting the historic agreement that legalized the nuclear weapons program of a terror state.
Democratic leadership is angry it wasn’t briefed before the operation, as were some Republican lawmakers critical of the scant information in the White House intelligence briefing on the attack. But there is reason to believe senior Democrats would have leaked it to the press, as they’ve done repeatedly over the last three years to prosecute their anti-Trump campaign. In particular, House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff and his staff have used CNN as a platform to push the discredited Trump-Russia collusion narrative. Why would Democrats endanger U.S. national security by leaking highly classified plans of a major operation against a terror leader? Because Soleimani was the centerpiece of the nuclear deal.
The JCPOA was the instrument Obama used to secure the administration’s ultimate goal—realigning U.S. interests with those of Iran. For the U.S. to be able to minimize its footprint in the Middle East, the Obama White House needed a proxy force—much like the Iranians use proxies to advance their interests. Soleimani managed Iranian proxies and Obama, who praised the late commander, believed he was capable of stabilizing the region on behalf of America.
In 2015, when the JCPOA went into effect, Soleimani was removed from the U.N. sanctions list, a provision that, according to press reports at the time, the Iranians saw as “nonnegotiable.” That’s how Obama wanted it, too.
As I explained in Tablet last week, Obama had subscribed to the myth that U.S. policymakers had built up around Iran over 40 years—that the third-world obscurantist regime was in fact a formidable power that the U.S. dare not challenge lest it risk an apocalyptic war. Seen from Obama’s perspective, a nation this powerful was—unlike the incoherent Arabs, OR tiny Israel—singularly capable of maintaining order. (Continues)

Years of liberal governance, increased drugs, worsening homelessness and general permissiveness have created a dangerous stew of communicable diseases from measles to bubonic plague. A Los Angeles Police officer has contracted typhoid and the LAPD station located in Skid Row suffers from a vermin infestation.
It can’t help that the current border anarchy has welcomed many thousands of poor Latin American peasants who have received no health screening. The public health threat of open borders has been too little discussed.
]]>LAURA INGRAHAM: Two hot topics and just a short time to get to them. So let’s bring in Drew Pinsky, board-certified internist. OK, Dr. Drew, great to see you. I have to begin with the shocking case out of L.A., and two friends of mine have told me about this. A police officer now has contracted that really rare and life-threatening illness, disease, typhoid fever. Fewer than 350 Americans contract this every year, so what is going on here?
DR. DREW PINSKY: We have a complete breakdown of the basic needs of civilization in Los Angeles right now. We have the three prongs of airborne disease. Tuberculosis is exploding. Rodent-born, we’re one of the only major cities in the country that does not have a rodent control program. And sanitation has broken down. We had a typhus outbreak last summer. We will have a typhus as outbreak this summer. I’m hearing from experts that bubonic plague is likely. It’s already here. It will get onto the rat fleas. And then now finally we have this oral-fecal route contamination, which is typhoid fever — three cases, one confirmed, probably three.
This is unbelievable. I can’t believe I live in a city where this is not third world, Laura: this is medieval. Third world countries are insulted if they are accused of being like this. No city on earth tolerates this. The entire population is at risk. And God forbid if measles — this is a population that is sub-optimally immunized — if measles gets in, I just have an image of myself on knees in the gutter tending to people, because this summer is likely to be a very profound problem.
INGRAHAM: Meanwhile, we are welcoming in tens of thousands into California in the next few months of illegal immigrants, and I’ve had a chance to talk to a lot of these migrants after they crossed the border. They have no papers, they have no identification, but they have a friend or a relative that they are going to go visit. A couple people had nowhere to go. So I don’t know how you check health records, and they are flooding into many cities in California, San Jose, L.A., San Diego.
PINSKY: And we can’t handle our situations such as it is. And there is a very bizarre thing going on where the government is somehow insisting that housing is the problem, when in fact we have chronic mental illness, we have addiction, we have people who don’t want to leave the streets. They literally won’t take the housing if we give it to them. And that is the population that is vulnerable. And it’s going to get so ill this summer, it scares me for their well-being.
Laura, I need your help. I want to pierce their shield of qualified immunity so we can go after them for reckless negligence. This is disgusting. It is reckless negligence. And we have to have a solution to this.
INGRAHAM: I know the businesses are upset, just like they are in San Francisco.
PINSKY: I don’t think you get how dire this is.
INGRAHAM: I do.
PINSKY: I’m telling you as a physician, like I’m standing on a railroad track, saying the bridge is out. This could be a very serious summer.
INGRAHAM: But where are the politicians? The liberal politicians in California care about people.
PINSKY: They are negligent, disgustingly negligent. It’s almost like — I was driving over and I thought, do they want the people on the streets to die? Is that it really, they don’t care if they all die? Is that really where we are now?
INGRAHAM: Dr. Drew, we didn’t have time to get into the six-figure rehab. We’ll have to have you back for that. That’s a shocker.
PINSKY: I’ll do it. You got it.
INGRAHAM: It’s a teaser for your next appearance. But thank you for sounding the alarm. This is not political. This is a health crisis now.

However when the perps are foreigners in the process of invading America across the Rio Grande, they receive the assistance of Border Patrol agents — in fact, the illegals are rescued and brought to the American side of the river.
On her Monday show on Fox, Laura Ingraham and her sidekick Raymond Arroyo visited the wide open border to see the action first hand.
In one segment, Arroyo rode along on a river boat with Border Patrol agents, as they performed rescues and not much that could be called enforcement. Agent Bryan Kemmett said many of the illegals jumped into the river because they didn’t want to wait to go through the official entrance.
Below, Border Patrol Agent Bryan Kemmett (left) gave the tour to Raymond Arroyo.
Arroyo suggested that the Border Patrol was incentivizing this behavior with its rescues, but Kemmett said no, they didn’t want to become a ferry service — but that is exactly what’s going on. Illegal aliens couldn’t get a friendlier, more helpful welcome from our officers who act more like social workers than cops.
Too bad the Border Patrol doesn’t work to defend the American people’s safety and our national sovereignty. Of course, they are only following orders.

When I was surveying the border from the air, The illegal crossings and the rescues at the river exploded. RAYMOND ARROYO: Where will you intercept them?
KEMMETT: It’s the minute they start getting into distress.
ARROYO: This is unbelievable. You see a father and I don’t even see a flotation device.
KEMMETT: The father and a child.
ARROYO: So, he’s in the water without – the baby has got the device on.
KEMMETT: You’re going to come this side.
ARROYO: I’ll get over here. This is terrifying. I mean if a man is separated, now you have a man separated from his baby here. The baby is crying on the other boat and. Border Patrol is left to have to fish him out of the river and this happens every day.
KEMMETT: Every day all the time from sun up to sun down when the boats are in here and they’re doing this pretty much non-stop.
ARROYO: Why risk life in this way?
KEMMETT: Many of them just don’t want to wait. There’s a long wait at the bridges. They can only process so many a day. Doesn’t matter what bridge they are, but many of them just get tired and they don’t want to wait.
ARROYO: The humane crisis and the crisis for humanity is what’s forcing these people here and the entire cartel that has created a network to feel just what we’re seeing. The risk to life and limb and to you guys. You all are risking your lives.
KEMMETT: Absolutely.
ARROYO: By going out of your way to protect and in some cases rescue these migrants, aren’t you incentivizing more of them to do this.
KEMMETT: We don’t incentivize it. We try absolutely not. We don’t want to become a ferry service.
ARROYO: Right.
KEMMETT: We know that it’s a daily struggle that these guys have. But you know you can’t leave an infant in the water struggling, you can’t leave small children living in the water.
ARROYO: Here we go again, these migrants throwing themselves into the Rio Grande. The difference here, contrary to a lot of the reportage, they know they’re going to be rescued, because otherwise this current will carry them straight down. But Border Patrol always intervenes as they will.
So, this gentleman, this lady, they’re from Honduras. Apparently, they are friends there on the Mexican mainland to help them get across Mexico and here to the Rio Grande and now they’ll go in for processing.
The man and woman we saw here. The lady claims she’s from Honduras. She showed us cuts on her arms, on her head. You believe this might be part of a script.
KEMMETT: It very well could be. And we see a lot of the same story.
ARROYO: Do you think these people paid cartels to get here? They’re from Honduras.
KEMMETT: They don’t move through here without the cartels knowing.
ARROYO: Obviously, you see the tragedy of this all around the square. A father and a daughter jumped into this river thinking they were going to get some clemency, a better life and they’re now going to be taken in, processed and then eventually released here into the country because of the laws the way they are, but they put their belongings in a bag, and they jump in the water and take their chances. Below, the city of Los Angeles called for a crackdown on homeless encampments in 2015, but numbers have only worsened.
LAURA INGRAHAM: California is a beautiful state — the mountains, the ocean, the desert, its entertainment, its agriculture and high-tech output are the envy of the world, and California seems to have it all. I first came here 30 years ago as a college student and thought, wow, people actually live like this: this is paradise. But let’s face it, the Golden State has changed a lot over the past three decades and a lot of that change frankly has been for the worse and a lot of it has been caused by disastrous liberal policies.
Taxes have gone up and up. Regulations have stifled small business creation. Illegal immigration has exploded here. Jerry Brown called California a sanctuary state. Electricity prices are climbing because of stupid government mandates. The mandatory $15 minimum wage is hurting low-income workers because more retailers are now moving to automation to save the money.
And we’ve seen a major squeeze on California’s middle class as the number of working poor is growing. California’s public pension systems are about $200 billion in the red. Oh and while homelessness nationwide is declining, it’s up here by three percent. By the way, sheltering and caring for the homeless cost taxpayers an estimated $80,000 per person per year. In fact, it’s so bad that some of the major cities like San Francisco, Sacramento and right here in the Los Angeles area now have what they call “permanent tent cities” or encampments, and it’s all the homeless.
She doesn’t overlook the illegal alien component of the homeless, which is substantial. In fact, the Los Angeles Times reported LA County numbers in June that “Latino homelessness shot up by 63% in the past year, a staggering number in a county that saw its overall homeless population soar by 23%, despite increasing efforts to get people off the street.”
INGRAHAM: Shirley, the issue of illegal immigration which we didn’t delve into much in this piece, but from the time that I’ve walked those same tents, there’s a lot of illegal immigrants who are homeless as well. They come here, they try to get jobs, sometimes they can’t find jobs ,and they don’t have any sponsors or families to live with, and so they live among the homeless. That is also a big problem for the state of California, and you’ve been spent enormous amount of time in these permanent encampments.
SHIRLEY HUSAR: Yes, absolutely. I tell you, Laura, the infrastructure of California is being destroyed, is being demised by Jerry Brown, Kevin de Leon and Eric Garcetti. They have personally instructed the police officers not to enforce law to allow the illegal immigrants to do so much, to cause so much damage in the homelessness.
