What are the odds of such a “coincidence”?? It’s amazing!

As mentioned earlier here, the Times held a big strategy meeting recently to switch the lies against Trump from the failed Russia hoax to the more easily administered accusation of “Racist!” Apparently the Post has signed on as well, since both articles included unproven charges against Miller.

Such allegations take little effort to deliver since the leftist media assumes anyone who objects to lawless open borders is of course a racist. Why else would a government official want to protect America from criminals, terrorists and job thieves?

Here’s the Times example:

How Stephen Miller Rode an Anti-Immigration Wave to the White House, New York Times, August 18, 2019

WASHINGTON — When historians try to explain how opponents of immigration captured the Republican Party, they may turn to the spring of 2007, when President George W. Bush threw his waning powers behind a legalization plan and conservative populists buried it in scorn.

Mr. Bush was so taken aback, he said he worried about America “losing its soul,” and immigration politics have never been the same.

That spring was significant for another reason, too: An intense young man with wary, hooded eyes and fiercely anti-immigrant views graduated from college and began a meteoric rise as a Republican operative. With the timing of a screenplay, the man and the moment converged.

Stephen Miller was 22 and looking for work in Washington. He lacked government experience but had media appearances on talk radio and Fox News and a history of pushing causes like “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.” A first-term congresswoman from Minnesota offered him a job interview and discovered they were reading the same book: a polemic warning that Muslim immigration could mean “the end of the world as we know it.” [. . .]

Some of Mr. Miller’s Latino classmates say his comments made them feel personally attacked. In an interview, Jason Islas said Mr. Miller told him he was ending their friendship for reasons that included “my Latino heritage.” He added, “I think he is a racist.”

The Post started with a portrait of Miller as a puppet-master, but at least had the decency to allow him a response to the racism allegation:

How Stephen Miller authors Trump’s immigration policy, Washington Post, August 18, 2019

At President Trump’s speeches and rallies, Stephen Miller often can be found backstage, watching the teleprompter operator. As other White House staffers chat or look at their phones, Miller’s attention remains glued to the controls.

The energy and crowd-thrilling parts of Trump’s speeches usually happen during his impromptu diversions from the planned address. When Trump veers, colleagues say, Miller sometimes directs the operator to scroll higher or lower through the speech, so when the president is ready to pick it up again, he will hit those passages and make those points.

Miller knows where he wants the president to go. [. . .]

Among Miller’s co-workers are a few who believe he harbors racist views. “I don’t know what other principle could animate such a laserlike focus,” said one former career official at DHS.

Miller bristled at the claim, calling anyone who labels him a racist “an ignorant fool, a liar and a reprobate who has no place in civilized society.”

“It is a scurrilous and scandalous lie born of a complete and total lack of understanding of the harms done by uncontrolled migration to people of all backgrounds, and born of a contempt for this nation, for our law enforcement officers and for the citizens who live here — and oftentimes, I might add, born of a personal grudge against this administration,” Miller said, without pause.

It goes without saying that the leftist media purveyors despise Trump voters as well as pro-sovereignty government.

Mississippi Arrests of Illegal Aliens Create Sob Story Opportunity for Liberal Scribblers https://www.limitstogrowth.org/articles/2019/08/10/mississippi-arrests-of-illegal-aliens-create-sob-story-opportunity-for-liberal-scribblers/ Sat, 10 Aug 2019 23:02:50 +0000 https://www.limitstogrowth.org/?p=18041 Over in the mainstream media, there’s no crime worse than a Republican president enforcing the law against the left’s favorite victims, illegal aliens. The arrests earlier this week consisted of a few hundred job thieves who were unlawfully employed in Mississippi food-processing plants, so that action would presumably open up hundreds of jobs for American workers. A recent chart from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed Mississippi as having the second worst unemployment rate among the states as of June, 5 percent, so that would be good news for anyone caring about Americans, right?

Not for everyone, judging by Saturday’s Los Angeles Times front page, which featured a sob story about the suffering children with the requisite “tears rolling down.”

Funny, I don’t recall any sob story journalism back when President Obama was deporting more illegal aliens than President Trump. Open-border types called BHO the “Deporter in Chief” back in 2014 before there was a Trump to blame for everything.

Memories are short in the newsroom.

Elsewhere, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi Michael Hurst stated, “We are unaware of a single child that is without a parent today.” All aliens who said they had a minor kid were released, around 300 out of 680.

So perhaps the media squealing is a little overblown. You never hear this sort of caterwauling about American kids whose parent is arrested — the extreme shrieking is utilized only when the liberal media wants to bash Trump.

Plus, if there were a employment visa category for newsroom workers, the scribblers might be more sympathetic to other Americans who have been negatively affected by excessive legal and illegal immigration. But the real harm to citizens is never mentioned in these emotional stories, which are really political tracts, aimed at wearing down the loyalty of the citizens to law and sovereignty.

The Times article was reprinted in the Morning Call paper of Allentown, Pennsylvania, so click away:

Mississippi raids split families and leave children adrift: ‘I just want my mom and dad’, Los Angeles Times, August 10, 2019

Leaning against the kitchen counter, Juana Andres, 12, rubbed her thumb and index finger anxiously across her father’s cellphone.

Beside her, older brother Eduardo, 14, stared into his iPad, tears rolling down his cheeks.

It had been about 36 hours since federal immigration agents with guns had burst into the Koch Foods Inc. chicken processing plant in the heart of Morton, Miss., rounding up their mom and dad and fastening plastic zip ties to their wrists before packing them onto buses and hauling them off.

Some locals said the workers — immigrants without papers to live in the U.S. illegally — had been rounded up with little more dignity than the chickens that enter the plant in rumbling 18-wheelers. But Juana had little to say about politics or race or immigration.

“I just want my mom and dad to come home,” she said quietly.

Juana still did not know where federal agents had taken her parents — Guatemalans who have lived and worked in this small Deep South town for about eight years. She did not know whether they would come back to their cozy four-bedroom ranch home, decorated with lavish shrines to the Lady of Guadelupe, red and green Christmas baubles, plush toys and cherub figurines.

Her dad’s old AT&T phone was their only lifeline.

Hours after her mom and dad were taken away, it buzzed with an unknown number and Juana quickly handed it over to her uncle Pedro.

It was her mom. Sobbing, Ana Andres delivered a simple message to her brother: “Take care of the kids and give them food.”

Anguished families

A sixth-grader, Juana had just started her second day back at middle school Wednesday when federal agents poured into the sprawling Koch Foods plant just a block away. As the tardy bell rang and she settled into her math class, her dad was finishing up his night shift and her mom starting her work day.

In a scene that played out at poultry and other food-processing plants across Mississippi, federal agents gathered hundreds of other Latino workers into rooms to question them and screen for anyone who was in the U.S. illegally. Across the state, about 680 workers were detained in the largest workplace raid in a decade.

Nowhere was the anguish more visible than in Morton, population 3,600. After 200 workers were detained, anxious families gathered in the sweltering heat outside the hulking plant, an ugly patchwork of corrugated metal buildings and trailers sealed off from the rest of the town by a strip of chain-link fence.

“Government, please show some heart,” an 11-year-old girl sobbed in a widely shared video. “Let my parents be free like everybody else, please…. I need my dad and mommy.” (Continues)

The parents can be “free like everybody else” in their home countries. The US cannot be the welfare office and job shop for the Third World when there are billions on earth who might like a “better life” in this country.

The usual suspects protested about law enforcement, like Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee complaining that the lawful arrests were Gestapo-like.

Donna Brazile, one of Fox’s increasingly left-leaning commentators, remarked about the arrests, “I woke up thinking about the little children of Mississippi, getting up this morning without a parent. . . they have nobody to bathe them, comb their hair, send them off to school.”

Apparently important people must have been heard the complaints about the poor suffering kiddies: Breitbart.com reported a severe backtracking in seriousness about removing illegals from American job sites:

ICE Frees 300 of 680 Illegals Arrested in Raid on ‘Humanitarian Grounds’, Breitbart.com, By John Binder, August 8, 2019

About 300 of the 680 illegal aliens arrested by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency at Mississippi food processing plants on Wednesday were released the same day on “humanitarian grounds,” officials confirm.

This week, ICE raided seven food processing plants across Mississippi, arresting a total of 680 illegal workers in the largest single-state operation in United States history and the largest workplace enforcement raid in 11 years, Breitbart News reported.

The same day, though, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and ICE confirmed that about 300 illegal workers were released back into the U.S. on “humanitarian grounds.” The Clarion Ledger first reported their release.

ICE spokesman Bryan Cox confirmed to Breitbart News that the 300 illegal workers released “were placed into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts and will have a court date at a future time.”

In a news release, law enforcement officials said ICE agents “concluded their processing of detained aliens last night and followed their procedures by releasing many on humanitarian grounds.”

Specifically, roughly 30 of the illegal workers arrested by ICE were released on humanitarian grounds while an additional 270 illegal workers were released after being processed by federal officials with the expectation that they will return to immigration court.

All of the illegal workers were asked whether they have children in schools or childcare services that needed to be picked up and were allowed to call family members, friends, and relatives to arrange pick ups for their children. ICE officials said officers worked directly with local Mississippi school districts to ensure children were cared for.

Now word has gotten out that America is back to being a soft touch, despite all Donald Trump’s tough talk that scared them off at first — there was a substantial drop in illegal border crossers in the first months of the Trump administration.

But as the news spreads of America’s border weakness, marauding job thieves are coming from around the world, illustrated very well by a Cameroonian man interviewed on Fox News on Tuesday.

REPORTER GRIFF JENKINS: I’m about 25 miles north of the Guatemala-Mexico border in the town of Tapachula; it’s been the stop for the caravans since they started coming. But one thing is very different and that is the word that our borders are open, that catch and release will let you stay in America, has gone global. We’ve run into migrants from Africa, from India, from Bangladesh, from Haiti, from Cuba. And we’ve only been here for about 24 hours.

We spoke to one gentleman, Saffa Sedhu (sp?) is his name, from Cameroon. Here is how he got here — this is unbelievable:

SAFFA SEDHU: I’m from Cameroon, and my journey started from Cameroon to Nigeria, from Nigeria to Turkey, from Turkey to Colombia, from Colombia to Panama, from Panama to Ecuador, from Ecuador I start coming by boats, I take by boat from Colombia to Capurgana. From Capurgana I had to walk in the jungle to Panama. When I arrived in Panama, I walk from camp to camp. I left Panama for Costa Rica. From Costa Rica to Nicaragua to Honduras, from Honduras to Guatemala, from Guatemala to Mexico now.

JENKINS: The goal is the same for all of them — to get to the US.

Now this, just to give you a quick shot, is the shelter where — remember the end of last week — 1300 migrants escaped from here because Mexico is detaining the migrants in these shelters. It’s overcrowded — if you look out here, these are the folks who couldn’t even get in, and they’re sleeping in the street. It’s obviously still late here, but the challenge now is that the makeup of these caravan flows is not just the Central Americans from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, and to lesser extent, Nicaragua.

Now it’s just a mix of people from all over the planet and this is obviously why ICE, CBP and others are putting a lot of resources, more resources, on the border we’re learning to particularly combat that fake family unit. We’ve been talking to the immigration officials here to try and find out if they’re doing anything here in Mexico to try and expose fraudulent family units as well.

The Cameroonian who was interviewed (pictured below) appears to be a healthy, moderately intelligent young man — why isn’t he working at home to build his own country instead of mooching off America? Instead of being a patriot in his homeland, he spent a lot of time and money to be a thief in a foreign country where he is not wanted.

Multiply him by a million this year, and it’s not only a disaster for the US as we are increasingly seen as the world’s welfare office, but the Third World countries are being abandoned by their own people.

That’s no way to run a planet that has over 7.7 billion human residents today, with no sign of slowing down.

Leftist Chattering Class Says Walls Are Racist, but Peter Kirsanow Shows Otherwise https://www.limitstogrowth.org/articles/2019/01/10/leftist-chattering-class-says-walls-are-racist-but-peter-kirsanow-shows-otherwise/ Thu, 10 Jan 2019 13:29:14 +0000 https://www.limitstogrowth.org/?p=17304 The anti-Trump gaggle remains stuck on their “racism” accusation against the president — as if that is the only reason to enforce immigration law and borders. The basic law of supply and demand says that an excess of something (like products or labor) reduces its value, while a shortage increases its worth. Which is why business wants open borders so the availability of cheap workers is essentially unlimited.

Plus, in the real world, calling Trump a racist for immigration enforcement is particularly ignorant for a black man to say as seen in a clip in the video below, because working class black Americans arguably benefit the most from pruning down the firehose supply of subservient illegal workers.

US Civil Rights Commissioner Peter Kirsanow came to the Tucker Carlson show on Monday armed with facts about how illegal immigration substantially harms black citizens.

So from a more informed viewpoint, it’s racist to have open borders that allow foreign job thieves to stay and steal from our fellow Americans of African descent.

(Spare video here.)

TUCKER CARLSON [2:35]: Mr. Kirsanow, thank you very much for coming on, as always. So it just seems to me that this line — border walls are racist, secure borders are racist, you don’t like people who look differently from you, if you’re for it, you’re a white supremacist — I mean, this is the definition of propaganda, given who is hurt by these policies.

PETER KIRSANOW: Right, it may be an aspect of projection, if you’re going to give them the best opportunity to describe themselves, and not ascribe to them racism or immorality which they describe to anybody who wants a secure wall, and you’re exactly right: Professor [Vernon] Briggs testified before the Civil Rights Commission. We had a whole host of people testifying before the Civil Rights Commission — the one cohort, the one demographic in the United States of America most harmed, most palpably harmed by illegal immigration are black Americans, and politicians, open-borders politicians know this, they know this because there have been numerous hearings before Congress on this. I’ve testified at a number of these hearings.

George Borjas has testified at a number these hearings; Stephen Camarota testified, and we’ve presented all of this evidence, all of this data that the pernicious effect of illegal immigration, of open borders has had on black Americans in terms of employment: nearly one million fewer blacks work today because of competition from illegal immigration than otherwise would be the case if we had a secure border.

It also depresses wage rates by a tune of $1800 a year. George Borjas estimates that the depressive effects of illegal immigration on wages is anywhere from $99 billion to $118 billion annually, cumulatively, but it has the most significant effect on the black community. And then you have the downstream effects from this economic effect, and that is you have higher crime rates and incarceration rates, lower marriageability rates, because no one gets married when they’re poor, and that has the worst effect on the black community where you’ve got a 72 percent out-of-wedlock birth rate in the black community. But it goes even beyond that. If you take a look at crime rates in the black community, we know that in a number of places — and in fact it’s the Obama administration’s Justice Department that brought indictments and convictions on the basis of illegal immigrant crime gangs that specifically targeted black communities, these were prosecutions by the Obama Justice Department based on racial targeting. Compton used to be 90 percent black; it’s now 30 percent black, and a large part of that is because of this targeting.

Other communities have suffered the same thing, so if you ask yourself what’s racist, I would like to ask members of the Congressional Black Caucus — it’s their moniker, they purportedly have assigned this designation to themselves because they have a peculiar interest with respect to issues pertaining to the black community — ask them about this. Instead they’ve capitulated to the open borders crowd for political reasons because an influx of immigration or illegal immigrants they believe secures them electoral advantage — they’ve thrown blacks under the bus in the process.

CARLSON: You mentioned what has happened to Compton, California. That’s at the very least an interesting story. I don’t think I’ve ever read that in the Washington Post or the New York Times — why?

KIRSANOW: Because it’s contrary to the overriding political narrative. You know, the narrative that says the biggest malady afflicting America today in the era of Trump is white supremacy. Unfortunately this has salience only in elevated academic circles; in the real world, that is not true. What you’re seeing on the ground is economic competition, you’re seeing crime rates, you’re seeing a whole host of things that happen to poor black folks and other Americans, and the elites apparently — they’re either consciously oblivious to it or unconsciously oblivious to it, but a lot of politicians know precisely what’s going on, yet they do nothing about it, and I know they know precisely what’s going on because of the testimonies we’ve given, because of the data we’ve submitted, and they simply ignore it.

Obama Orders Work Permits for Illegal Aliens, Plus Fewer Deportations https://www.limitstogrowth.org/articles/2011/08/18/obama-orders-work-permits-for-illegal-aliens-plus-fewer-deportations/ Thu, 18 Aug 2011 23:54:24 +0000 https://www.limitstogrowth.org/?p=4049 As an advocate for the crime victims of illegal aliens, I believe that violent offenders and drunk drivers should be the top priority for arrest and imprisonment followed by deportation.

[...]]]> As an advocate for the crime victims of illegal aliens, I believe that violent offenders and drunk drivers should be the top priority for arrest and imprisonment followed by deportation.

At the same time, job thieves (i.e. the eight million illegals estimated by Pew Hispanic to unlawfully hold US employment) absolutely should not be ignored. Illegally occupied jobs should be liberated by strategies like workplace raids, e-verify and no-match letters from Social Security informing employers that a worker’s SS number and name don’t agree.

Eject the illegals and open up millions of jobs for unemployed Americans: it is an immediate partial solution for the wrenching crisis that has caused immense suffering.

Illegal aliens come for jobs and the ensuing cash, plus the moochable benefits like free-to-them healthcare and food. They may say they come for a better life for the kiddies with education and similar noble-sounding sentiments, but really, they want more money now. Everything else is either secondary or BS.

As a result of years of demands for amnesty from his La Raza base, the Obama administration has expanded its stealth program of lessened deportations under the Morton memo to now include work permits.

In other words, Obama is giving lawbreaking foreigners their most desired prize — full legal entrance to the American workplace. It is a 90 percent amnesty that omits only citizenship — but illegals don’t care about that. The work authorization is gold.

Interestingly, not all news reports mentioned the work permit aspect, including Politico and Yahoo. In this case, the Associated Press comes out looking good for more thorough reporting.

US undertaking case-by-case review on deportation, Associated Press, Aug 18, 2011

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration said Thursday it will indefinitely delay deporting many illegal immigrants who don’t have criminal records and will offer them a chance to apply for a work permit. The government will focus on sending back convicted criminals and those who might be a national security or public safety threat.

The policy change will mean a case-by-case review of approximately 300,000 illegal immigrants facing possible deportation in federal immigration courts, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said.

Advocates for an immigration overhaul contend the administration has failed to live up to its promise to only deport the “worst of the worst,” as President Barack Obama has said.

“From a law enforcement and public safety perspective, DHS enforcement resources must continue to be focused on our highest priorities,” Napolitano wrote a group of senators involved in supporting immigration legislation. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the letter.

“Doing otherwise hinders our public safety mission – clogging immigration court dockets and diverting DHS enforcement resources away from the individuals who pose a threat to public safety.”

In June, the director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement sent a memo to agents outlining when and how they could use discretion in immigration cases. That guidance also covered those potentially subject to a legislative proposal, known as the DREAM Act, intended to give young illegal immigrants who go to college or serve in the military a chance at legal status.

The memo from John Morton also suggested that agents consider how long someone has been in the United State, whether that person’s spouse or children are U.S. citizens and whether or not that person has a criminal record.

A senior administration official said delaying deportation decisions in cases for some noncriminals would allow the quicker deportation of serious criminals. The indefinite stay will not give illegal immigrants a path to legal permanent residency, but will let them apply for a work permit.

“As a matter of law, they are eligible for a work authorization card, basically a tax payer ID card, but that decision is made separately and on a case-by-case basis,” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the policy change before it was announced.

The official said the change will give authorities the chance to keep some cases from even reaching the court system. The message to agents in the field, the official said, would be “you do not need to put everyone you come across in the system.”

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., a longtime supporter of immigration overhaul and the DREAM Act, applauded the policy change.

“These students are the future doctors, lawyers, teachers and, maybe, senators, who will make America stronger,” Durbin said in an emailed statement. “We need to be doing all we can to keep these talented, dedicated, American students here, not wasting increasingly precious resources sending them away to countries they barely remember.”

Republicans have criticized the DREAM Act and other immigration legislation that would provide a path to legal status as amnesty. Following Morton’s June memo, Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, introduced a bill to block the administration’s use of prosecutorial discretion and called the use of that discretion “backdoor amnesty.”

Fifteen million is the official unemployment number, but many additional American citizens are working part-time or have given up looking.

Nevertheless, illegal aliens from Ireland continue to arrive to steal American jobs, like they were entitled to do so because of the history of Irish immigration (legal) to this country.

Interestingly, Irish complained loud and long about the immigration to their own country during its brief boom. The Irish expressed anger about the quarter million Poles who had flocked to the tiny island for job opportunities, as well as diverse thousands of others. It’s not surprising then that a 2009 Ireland survey discovered a preference for limits: Seven out of 10 favour immigration restrictions.

Yet the illegal Irish think it is totally swell to impose themselves on the American job market and steal employment that by law belongs to US citizens. Arrogant Paddy-pests do it largely because there is no jail time for job theft; the worst punishment is a free ride home.

In addition, they can hook in to existing social networks to find work quickly — just like illegal Mexicans and other invasive moochers.

What’s needed is national expansion of Operation Streamline, a Zero-Tolerance program which started in the Del Rio Sector and has been hugely successful. Rather than being held briefly and then released to try again, illegal border crossers are prosecuted and jailed. Funny how well punishment works as a deterrent.

Since the Irish generally enter with temp visas and then never leave, universal workplace eligibility checks are needed, with the application of Operation Streamline to those found to be illegal aliens.

New York, New Work: The New Irish Exodus, Sky News, December 24, 2010

The number of people travelling from Ireland to New York to find work is rising, according to the city’s Irish community leaders.

Faced with 13.5% unemployment at home, many young people are travelling in on tourist visas and picking up jobs as undocumented workers in the construction or hospitality industries.

Sky News Online spoke to three Irish community and immigration centres in areas with large Irish populations, and all said there is strong anecdotal evidence that numbers have risen in the past 12 months.

Paul Finnegan, executive director of the New York Irish Centre in Queens, said requests for advice and assistance have increased tenfold in the past year. [CONTACT — phone: (718) 482-0909; Email form]

“I talk about the fact that pubs, which are always gathering places for the Irish and many other nations, in recent years have seen a new surge of crowds going to them around New York,” he said.

“I look around and I know that there are young men and women there that would not have the opportunity to get a green card.

“I’m not saying that they’ve overstayed their visitor’s visa, I’m just saying that I’m observing huge numbers that I have not seen in before.”

Vanessa, who did not want to be fully identified, came into the States on a tourist visa and now works illegally in a restaurant in New York.

She told Sky News Online: “I got laid off at home from my job so I decided to come over here because I knew that I’d get work here even though I wouldn’t be legal.

“I had to come away and get work because I wasn’t willing to stay at home on the dole. I was at college for four years and got my degree, and I just couldn’t face not being in work.

“I have a couple of friends who are left in Ireland now and they just feel like they’re being left behind, so they’re saving their social welfare to flee the country.”

By September 2009 more people were leaving Ireland than arriving, and by April 2010 net migration was the highest since the recession-hit 80s.

The best available official estimate for numbers of Irish in New York, both legal and undocumented, comes from the US Census Bureau, which put the figure at 29,647 in 2009.

Orla Kelleher, the executive director of the Aisling Irish Community Centre based in Queens and The Bronx, thinks the true number is probably much higher.

“Based on what we are seeing there has been a big increase,” she said.

“The vast majority of the well established Irish community are here legally, but there are always those who are willing to take risks with their immigration status.”

Ciaran Staunton owns a well-known Irish bar in Manhattan and lobbies the US government to improve immigration laws for Irish people.

“America’s always been an escape valve for Ireland,” he said. [CONTACT ciaran@oneillsnewyork.com]

“Everyone in Ireland has relations here and most of them will get work as soon as they arrive because there’s someone looking out for them.

“In the last number of months we’ve seen a big influx of young Irish people.

“They’ve said ‘Well, we’ve two choices. The choice is either stay in Ireland, legal, unemployed, with no certainty for the future, or get a job, chance our arm in America, perhaps undocumented, but as most of our friends have jobs, let’s come over there and try it’.”

See? Illegal Irish think they are so special that unemployed Americans should just get out of their way to paychecks.
