Boston ICE chief Todd Lyons pushed back against proponents of “sanctuary city” policies, saying his immigration-enforcement organization needs the cooperation of local law enforcement to get its targets: illegal immigrants who commit crimes here.
“When you politicize law enforcement, it makes it bad for everyone,” Lyons said when asked about people who support sanctuary cities — places where local law enforcement can’t cooperate with federal authorities.
“We have the opportunity to take the actual criminal element out of the community,” Lyons said during a Tuesday evening community meeting in West Roxbury. “We don’t understand why when you have the opportunity to take the criminal element out of the location, we don’t understand why we wouldn’t be allowed to do our job.” (Continues)

Although human workers are still needed at the Spyce restaurant to chop and prepare the ingredients before cooking, the trend toward more automation in restaurants is clear, such as oven robots in pizza production. Plus, the use of kiosks for ordering and payment have become quite common.
In a CNBC interview in March 2017, Yum Brands CEO Greg Creed predicted robots would replace fast food workers by the mid-2020s.
So it makes no sense for Washington to continue admitting thousands of low-skilled immigrants as if there will be jobs for them in a few years — right?

Four MIT students who once built a soccer ball-kicking robot got together with a Michelin-starred chef to build a restaurant that’s not quite what you’re used to. How? Well, it’s staffed by robots, obviously. Spyce, a fast casual restaurant that has just opened its doors in Boston, has a mecha-kitchen with seven autonomous woks preparing its healthy offerings. A customer simply has to choose one of the bowl-based meals in its menu through a touchscreen kiosk, and the sprouts, kale, beans, grains and other components of the meal will automatically drop into one of the drum-like machines to start cooking.
Spyce’s mecha-woks use magnetic induction to heat the food and automatically rinse themselves after preparing every order. As cool as they sound, though, they aren’t quite capable of doing actual food prep and making bowls look presentable. The restaurant still employs human workers at a commissary kitchen where ingredients are chopped and prepared; on site, there are two garnish employees to add the finishing touch. So, although robots could eventually take all our jobs, Spyce’s founders didn’t conjure up a machine that can put all restaurant employees out of work right now.
Its Yelp reviews are pretty good, if you’re wondering how’s the food itself. To note, Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud serves as Spyce’s culinary director. But if you’re not quite the kale and beans kind of person, seeing the restaurant’s whirring, spinning robotic woks in action might be worth the visit. Spyce runs an open kitchen, and the show is definitely part of the experience. “It’s fun to see what’s going on behind the scenes,” co-founder Brady Knight said, “We didn’t want to hide anything because we think what we made is pretty cool.”

Nobody at Fox mentioned that there was probably a dearth of free speechers because people were afraid of being beaten up by the thugs allowed to run rampant by police, as has been reported in Charlottesville. That danger tends to cut down on attendance. And there was violence in Boston, like the woman who was assaulted as she held an American flag.
Antifa thugs rarely get busted but one example happened in Berkeley: masked professor Eric Clanton was charged a couple months ago with four felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon after he used a U lock bike lock to slug at least seven people in a protest.
But back to the actual TV discussion, Mark Steyn made an important point that the left is trying to equate Trump voters as being nazis, which does seem to be the goal, albeit insane. Do the lefties actually think that there are 62 million nazis in this country (the number of Trump voters)? If so, the commie antifa probably should move to France where everyone loves diversity.
Or can lefties manage to think at all in their current state of anti-Trump hysteria which does not seem to be abating? The mainstream left media certainly encourages the mass mental illness by creating a total fiction about Trump, Republicans and racism.

MARK STEYN: Yeah, I would rather we had more speech and fewer protests because I think the less speech you have, the more violence you have, and it would be a lot better if actually we had more people having more vigorous debates rather than toppling statues in the street. And my worry about this is that actually the left is making an organized attempt to say that if you do not vote Democrat that you’re a Nazi.

STEYN: Well it is dangerous, because as you were talking about earlier, it’s an explicit thing to actually tie policy differences on rather boring things, like taxes and immigration, to the most crude form of demagoguery. That’s what we just seen this last week. They don’t actually care what Trump thinks about some statue, they don’t think about whether there’s any actual real connection between guys calling for Jews to be in ovens and Trump — they want to say, if you vote for Trump, you’re a nazi, so we can’t talk with you, all we can do is smash up your rally.
JON SCOTT: Those statues that so many people want to tear down were erected in the South when Democrats were in charge — does anybody remember that? I’m not saying that the Democratic Party of today is necessarily approving of that but let’s look. . .
STEYN: Yeah I don’t have a dog in this fight. They’re basically today’s Democrats arguing about statues of yesterday’s Democrats. I mean, speaking personally, I think they should all be torn down and you should have some ones of George III put up, because that’s before all the trouble.

A recent report from Boston found that 65 percent of those arrested for selling heroin, morphine and synthetic opioids were foreign born, with many being Dominicans. More diversity in drug dealers is not what America needs. Worse, Boston officials still don’t understand that illegal immigration is a big part of the problem.
Tucker Carlson recently discussed the issue with Boston radio guy Howie Carr:
TUCKER CARLSON: Howie, this seems to me as a layman to be another indication that maybe there’s a connection between our immigration policy and our drug problems.
HOWIE CARR: Absolutely, Tucker, this has been a very big issue as you said, not just in Massachusetts but in all of New England. Donald Trump ran around last year during the Republican primary in New Hampshire talking about this. Two of the local governors, Republicans, Chris Sununu in New Hampshire and Paul LePage in Maine have publicly blamed the epidemic of heroin largely on illegal alien or alien drug dealers, and of course they’re accused of racism, nativism, xenophobia, but this report from the City of Boston Police Department — it’s an official document — makes it clear that they’re on to something, that this is the problem.
And what makes it even more more interesting is that we have a mayor in the city of Boston who has offered to turn City Hall into a sanctuary for illegal aliens while at the same time he runs around the city railing against the heroin epidemic that’s killing his constituents, and it’s being perpetrated by the people he wants to protect, and at the Statehouse in Boston they’ve cracked down on physicians legally writing prescriptions for legal opioids, claiming that most of the problem is physicians over-prescribing vicodins or percocets for grannie. That’s just that’s just not the case. Maybe it used to be the case, but no longer.
CARLSON: People are totally paralyzed in positions of power by the fear they’re going to be called insensitive. They’d rather see their people die than be called insensitive.

]]>Police: Dominican Immigrants Dominate Heroin Trafficking In Boston, Daily Caller, May 21 2017
Dominican drug trafficking gangs dominate the balance of heroin distribution in Boston, according to a new report from the Boston Police Department.
The Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC), a Boston Police division that also receives funding from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), released the “2016 Heroin Overdose Report” Tuesday to provide data on trends in opiate use in the city.
An analysis of arrest data for Class A drug trafficking — selling heroin, morphine and synthetic opioids — revealed the majority of individuals arrested in 2016 in Boston were not U.S. citizens, and most of those non-citizens were Dominican foreign nationals.
Of those arrested for Class A trafficking, 65 percent claimed to have been born in a foreign county. Within that group, 84 percent told police they were from the Dominican Republic. The share of heroin trafficking arrests attributable to Dominican nationals is likely even higher, the BRIC report says, because illegal immigrants from the Dominican Republic often use fake Puerto Rican birth certificates to obtain state identification documents.
“There has been open source reporting that Dominican drug traffickers will use identities stolen from Puerto Rico to acquire drivers licenses in Massachusetts, and in other states,” the report said.
Identity fraud exploiting Puerto Rican nationality is a major facilitator of heroin distribution in Boston, according to the BRIC report. In particular, Dominican nationals were suspected of using Puerto Rican identity documents or aliases to mask their true country of origin and lack of legal status in the U.S.
“In 59 percent of the cases where the suspect listed Puerto Rico as their place of birth, there were signs of identity fraud or use of aliases. This would suggest that heroin trafficking in Boston is largely controlled by Dominican drug organizations,” the report concluded.
Overall, signs of identify fraud were present in 44 percent of all arrests in 2015 and 2016 when the suspect listed a place of birth other than the U.S.
Massachusetts Republican Gov. Charlie Baker and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh have both launched efforts to combat opioid abuse and addiction, but they have resisted the Trump administration’s strict enforcement of immigration laws and expanded detention and removal of illegal aliens.
Boston was one of five Massachusetts cities DHS singled out in March for not honoring federal immigration detention requests, and Walsh has previously pledged to house illegal immigrants in Boston City Hall to shield them from federal agents.
He also lauded a California judge’s decision in April that temporarily halted President Donald Trump’s executive order to withhold funding from sanctuary jurisdictions, claiming that such cities “have the Constitution on our side.”
“In Boston, there is no dollar amount that would ever change our essential character of inclusiveness of all people,” Walsh said.
Apparently the likelihood of his escape, not to mention re-offending didn’t count for much in the mind of the judge. Protecting Americans from dangerous people is supposed to be the #1 job of government, but liberal judges have a different idea.
Massachusetts author and radio host Howie Carr discussed this case and others with Tucker Carlson on Thursday. Carr noted the “pattern” of liberal judges not following the law in order to protect illegal aliens, and he had plenty of examples to prove his point.

BROADCAST: A dangerous drive home for a local woman after investigators say she was assaulted by her Uber driver who used a fake name to register with the rideshare company. Thirty-four-year-old Luis Báez pled not guilty to three counts of rape. Prosecutors say the young woman was picked up using the app in Boston last September and driven to a location she didn’t request. Baez allegedly raped her and then dropped her off at Boston College where she reported the incident to campus police.
CARLSON: But it didn’t end there. Newton district court judge Mary Beth Heffernan refused a request from prosecutors to set high bail for Baez: she released him after acquiring just 2500 bucks. Now ICE agents are hunting for him; they say he disappeared.
Howie Carr writes for the Boston Herald, hosts a daily radio show — one of the most famous men in New England. He’s also the author of the book Kennedy Babylon. He joins us tonight. Howie, thanks a lot for coming on. This story almost sounds like something that you’d make up — it sounds like a parody. How did this happen? is it what it seems?
HOWIE CARR: Yeah, I think this is a pattern that’s repeating itself all over the country, Tucker. In this case, the guy is an illegal alien once deported to Dominica, purportedly a gangbanger in the city of Boston, and he’s operating under an alias, as you just heard. And so they bring him in and the prosecutor, an assistant district attorney from a very liberal county, works for a very liberal Democrat district attorney comes in there and says we want a hundred thousand dollars bail on this guy because he’s a flight risk, and ICE has asked us for a hold and make sure that he’s held because they’re going to put a detainer on him to make sure that he can’t escape. but we want a GPS via the judge — a political appointee of former governor Deval Patrick another very liberal democratic politician — doesn’t even listen to the entire argument by the the employee of a liberal a district attorney and so he just says $2500 bond and then says can he make the bond here at the courthouse so he doesn’t have to go back to jail. She didn’t want to inconvenience him in the least, so he makes the bond and that was nine days ago and nobody has seen him since.
CARLSON: What it really comes down to, when the left is put in this case a liberal judge to balance the rights of women — which they say they stand for — with the so-called rights of illegal aliens, the latter wins: 2500 bucks for bail on a rape charge — have you heard of that before?
CARR: No, it’s happening around the country, Tucker. There was a case in New York City last week, a Dominican woman was charged with, pleaded guilty to stealing $35,000 worth of Victoria’s Secret products, and the judge tried to block photographers from taking her picture out in the hall of the courthouse. He said you’re just going to get her deported; he tried to stop them.
You had a case in Portland, Oregon, in January where a Mexican illegal alien was in court for a hearing for a drunk driving case, the ICE agents were out in the hall waiting for him to come out so they could grab and put a detainer on him and throw him out of the country. Somebody let him out of the back door of the of the courtroom.
We had another case in the Springfield, Western Mass, here last year, a Dominican bodega owner was pleading guilty to stealing $35,000 worth of food stamps — welfare fraud — and he came into the court and the judge said in an open courtroom, you know if you were an American we would be sentencing you to some serious jail time, but we don’t want to get you deported, so we’re not going to give you any jail time, and the guy got probation stealing $35,000.
The woman in Manhattan she didn’t do any jail time, she didn’t do restitution, she didn’t do any community service. I mean it’s like there’s a double standard here. In many cases illegal aliens or non-citizens are treated better than Americans.
CARLSON: My jaw is open because we’ve already moved past the point where the left is arguing that we shouldn’t enforce immigration law to a point where they’re showing favoritism to people who are breaking a law because of breaking the law. Where does this go from here?
CARR: I don’t know where it goes, I just chronicle it all the time, Tucker. We had a case, another one in Massachusetts here, an illegal alien from Ecuador was drunk and he ran over an American motorcyclist in the town of Milford in central Massachusetts. They hired a court psychologist — we the taxpayers hired him — and he wrote a report, and he said this guy should not be held accountable — an illegal alien on welfare, drunk driving — should not be held accountable for his drunk driving because he’s of quote mongoloid descent. That’s what they said; he’s an Indian in other words, and so he lacked the enzyme to metabolize the alcohol, so he wasn’t responsible for killing the American citizen while he was in the country illegally, driving drunk. Again, this is going on every day in the country.
CARLSON: This is why I always find a hard to listen your radio show because I’m mesmerized by it; I’m afraid I’m going to hit a bridge abutment while I’m listening to it. Howie Carr, thanks for coming on tonight. That really blew my mind.

An anti-illegal immigration rally on Beacon Hill outside the State House on Saturday, July 26 was teeming with protesters.
While Bree Sison of CBS Boston estimated that the gathering drew hundreds of people, Jeff Kuhner, the host of WRKO’s The Kuhner Report, who organized the rally, put the number closer to 10,000 people.
People carrying signs that said “Deport illegals,” and “Americans before illegals” stood just outside the State House from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kuhner told Boston.com that he himself is a legal immigrant.
Kuhner came to the United States in the 1990s on a work visa as he worked towards a Ph. D. Still a Canadian citizen, he was issued a green card in 2006. Kuhner said he is currently in the process of becoming a naturalized citizen.
“I’ve never seen any kind of a backlash like this before on any issue ever. People in this state are livid. They feel betrayed by the political elite,” Kuhner said of Gov. Deval Patrick’s decision for Massachusetts to offer shelter to unaccompanied minors.
This week, a state official said it remained “unclear” how many unaccompanied minors crossing the nation’s southern border illegally would be coming to Massachusetts and how many could stay in the state longer. The state has offered to house up to 1,000 children at one of two secure facilities for up to four months.
Kuhner told Boston.com that he thought Saturday’s rally in Boston may well become a national story. “We made the Drudge Report.”
“These are not children. When you say child, the implication is 4, 5, 6 [years old]. They’re teenagers – many of them are gangbangers … If you’re 15, you’re not a child. A child is 12 and under.”
