France: New Years Car Burnings Up, Along with Arrests

The big New Years Eve festivities are now a few days past in the rear-view mirror, so it’s probably safe to go with the current stats reported: 1,031 French cars torched, with 510 arrests. Which works out to around one arrest per .5 vehicles hit by arson jihad.

Here’s a French tweet straight from the streets: The translation is “New Year: 1,031 cars burned in 🇫🇷 during New Year’s Eve. It will be difficult for the scum to evoke the need to warm up. Police and weather were fine.”

The press likes to hide the perps identity rather than naming them as largely Muslim youth.

The hopelessly politically correct Pollyannas at The Local have even tried to normalize the violence this year with the headline What’s behind the famous French tradition of torching cars? Good grief.

A mass crime performed on a regular basis does not make it a national tradition — yet. Hopefully the French won’t be wishing one another “Happy Arson” any time soon.

However, it is true that New Years car burnings occur regularly in diverse France, as noted on this blog:

● 2017 In Multicultural France, Officials Hide Extent of Annual New Years Car Burning

● 2016 France New Years Car-B-Cue: Number of Burned Vehicles Is Reduced

● 2015 In Diverse France, New Years Means Hundreds of Burned Cars

Over 1,000 cars torched across France as New Year’s Eve arrests rise, AFP/The Local, January 2, 2018

France saw a jump in arrests on New Year’s Eve as well as an increase in the number of cars torched by vandals, a ritual among revellers in the country’s high-rise suburbs.

The number of vehicles set alight on the night of December 31st climbed from 935 a year ago to 1,031, while arrests rose from 456 to 510, the interior ministry said on Monday.

Violence also marred celebrations in the Paris suburb of Champigny-sur-Marne, where two police officers were attacked by a large group of people at a party.

French President Emmanuel Macron took to Twitter to denounce the “cowardly and criminal lynching of police officers doing their duty” and warned that the culprits would be “found and arrested”.

“I regret that incidents like yesterday can happen but overall people were able to enjoy New Year’s eve in a peaceful manner,” Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said Monday.

Some 140,000 security and emergency forces were deployed across France on New Year’s Eve.

The country has been on alert following a wave of jihadist attacks that have killed 241 since 2015.

So why do the French burn cars anyway?

The custom of setting vehicles alight on New Year’s Eve reportedly began in the east of the country, around Strasbourg, in the 1990s, in the the city’s poorer neighbourhoods.

It was then quickly adopted by youths in cities across the country.

Europe Strategizes for Safety during the Holidays

Over the holiday season, a new concern has grown in prominence, namely “security” — accompanied by a big display of well armed police in large cities. Curiously, we never hear the dollar costs for the extra officers with expensive technology. Also what goes mostly unspoken is the frequent cause — muslim immigration which has allowed mass-murder-minded jihadis to enter the west easily.

Although America has certainly been harmed by allah’s helpers, Europe is orders of magnitude worse off because of its enthusiastic pursuit of open borders, encouraged by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and a complicit European Union.

France has been a popular jihad target, with its culturally significant buildings like Notre Dame Cathedral.

All the major capitals of Europe are taking extensive security measures for New Years to protect the people from the diversity the governments allowed:

The Berlin strategy of creating “safe spaces” for women (after the New Years mass sex assaults by muslims against women in Cologne) has become controversial after the criticism by Rainer Wendt. A former police officer, Wendt believes that all of Germany’s public space should be safe for German women, otherwise freedom and equality will have been lost.

Of course, muslim immigration is the cause of European women’s reduced freedom. The US should avoid the same mistake.

Security the top priority for New Year’s Eve in European cities, Euronews, December 30, 2017

A look at security preparations in some of Europe’s major cities, where thousands are expected in the streets to see in the New Year.

Cities across Europe are on alert in the run-up to New Year’s Eve, as the threat of terrorist attacks continues to hang over the continent. Here is a look at plans in some Western European nations.

[. . .]

Germany

Germany is on high alert a year after a deadly truck attack on a Christmas market in Berlin.

Barricades around the Brandenburg Gate will reassure revellers. And there will be a safe zone for women at the site after hundreds were molested and robbed in Cologne on New Year’s Eve two years ago.

Berlin police say the safety area in the capital’s “party mile” around the gate will feature tents, with German Red Cross staff including psychologists on hand for women feeling harassed.

The move has proved controversial. The head of Germany’s second-largest police officers’ union said a women’s zone planned for Berlin sent a “disastrous message”.

“With this message, you’re saying that there are safe and unsafe zones,” Rainer Wendt told the Neue Osnabrücher Zeitung newspaper. He said the move would amount to “the end of equality, freedom of movement and self-determination,” adding that women had a right to be safe everywhere.

In Cologne, police say 1,400 police officers are to be deployed on the central railway station plaza and around the adjacent cathedral. Fireworks are to be banned, while there have been plans for more video surveillance cameras and improved lighting.

The events in Cologne made worldwide headlines two years ago when groups of young men of North African appearance molested hundreds of women in the city centre.

Europe: Troops Battle Burnout As Well As Muslim Mass Murderers

The Washington Post reports from Europe that military troops assigned to protect the city streets from terror are “feeling the strain.” Apparently years of keeping Europeans safe from the terrorists which governments allowed to enter is taking its toll in terms of lost soldierly skills and general stress from the low-intensity civil war.

The Post front-paged its story with the now-traditional photo of a French soldier guarding the Eiffel Tower, which is seen as a prime target for hostile islam. The newspaper headline read, “In Europe, troops battle home-front burnout.”

European streets must be an extremely difficult place to protect when there are thousands of enemy jihadists who move among the innocent population. Christmas is coming, so that means increased targeting of by muslims of churches and holiday celebrations for mass murder. In 2015, France fielded 120,000 police and soldiers over Christmas to protect French citizens from the hostile immigrants.

Soldiers guard Paris’ Notre Dame Cathedral because of danger from jihadists.

Lyon announced a couple days ago that it would cancel its famous Christmas market because of escalating security costs. A hijacked truck driven by a Tunisian failed asylum seeker attacked the Berlin Christmas market, killing 12 and injuring 48 last year.

The November 2015 multi-site attack in Paris killed 130 people, including 89 at the Bataclan theater, so the possibility of a huge death count is always a possibility in the minds of those responsible for safety.

And because demography is both cruel and insistent, Europe’s street warfare with islam will only worsen. A recent Pew Research report titled “Europe’s Growing Muslim Population” noted that even if islamic immigration were to end tomorrow, “the Muslim population of Europe still would be expected to rise from the current level of 4.9% to 7.4% by the year 2050.”

The Post report seems to be treading ever so carefully around the extent of the danger, the cause and the stressful effect on front-line troops.

The WP article was reprinted by MSN:

Soldiers guard Europe’s streets from terrorism. Critics say that weakens them in war. MSN, December 4, 2017

(The Washington Post) Green army trucks are rumbling across the cobbled streets of Brussels. Stiff-spined soldiers are patrolling the Champs-Elysees in Paris. Italian troops are guarding the Colosseum. And critics say the years-long deployments at home are sapping the ability of these militaries to fight wars.

Taken together, the domestic deployments — to guard against terrorism — are among the largest in Western Europe since World War II. They come as European militaries are tapped to address an unusually wide range of challenges at once: a resurgent Russia, grinding conflicts in the Middle East, migration across the Mediterranean and smaller wartime deployments far from their borders.

Confronted by terrorism, European leaders rushed their armies onto their streets in the aftermath of attacks starting in 2015. Although advocates say the deployments help bolster security, the peacetime duty has stretched forces thin.

Until recently, 40 percent of Belgium’s fight-ready soldiers were devoted to domestic guard duty. Some officers worry that the lack of time to practice warfare means basic skills are getting rusty. In France, the former leader of the military said last month that he quit in July in part to protest that his forces were “overheating.”

President Trump has pressed NATO allies to commit more toward their own defense and to international missions, but the domestic deployments have made that a challenge. The latest sign came last month at a meeting of defense chiefs in Brussels, when the alliance fell short on pledges toward the NATO training operation in Afghanistan.

In Belgium, a country of 11 million people, military leaders say their troops are feeling the strain.

“I had machine gunners with the rifle section who didn’t fire a machine gun in 16 months because they had become riflemen,” said Maj. Gen. Marc Thys, commander of Belgium’s land forces. “It’s like asking our national team that hasn’t played a game of soccer all year to go to the world championships. It doesn’t work.”

Until October, 1,250 Belgian soldiers were deployed across the country, guarding grand boulevards, train stations and other crowded public places that make tempting targets. The intention was to increase public safety and to give police officers more freedom to do investigative work rather than tie them up on guard duty.

The domestic deployments came as European nations struggled to find a way to protect themselves against attacks in a new era of terrorism strategies. Some recent Islamic State-inspired strikes used explosives and required large networks that could be disrupted through aggressive counterterrorism work, but other attacks were as simple as renting a truck and plowing it into a crowd.

Robert Spencer Updates Us on the Islam-friendly Pope

Is Pope Francis the biggest useful idiot that Islam has in its pocket these days? It would seem so. Robert Spencer has reported on the pope’s upbeat get-together in September with Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, the secretary general of the Muslim World League (MWL), a group linked to financing jihad. The two exchanged meaningless religious pleasantries about world peace and universal love — what else does the leader of millions of catholics say to a terror funder?

Below, during a papal visit to Istanbul in 2014, the Grand Mufti shared the koran with the pope as they prayed together. Francis has said that true Islam is not violent despite extensive evidence to the contrary.

Francis’ years of liberal pandering toward Islam has made him a figure of ridicule, at least to Spencer, who used the latest papal misadventure in multi-faith diplomacy as an opportunity for comedic mockery.

Spencer’s calling Francis the “defender of Islam” may not be entirely complementary.

The Pope of Islam, By Robert Spencer, Front Page, September 22, 2017

Pope Francis welcomes to the Vatican the head of a Muslim group tied to the financing of jihad terror.

As if he weren’t already committed enough to foolish false charity and willful ignorance regarding the jihad threat, Pope Francis on Wednesday met in the Vatican with Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, the secretary general of the Muslim World League (MWL), a group that has been linked to the financing of jihad terror.

During the meeting, al-Issa thanked the Pope for his “fair positions” on what he called the “false claims that link extremism and violence to Islam.” In other words, he thanked the Pope for dissembling about the motivating ideology of jihad terror, which his group has been accused of financing, and for defaming other religions in an effort to whitewash Islam.

I don’t object to the Pope’s meeting this man. After all, Jesus was a friend of tax collectors and sinners. But the meeting appears to have been a pointless feelgood session, probably featuring some sly dawah from al-Issa. According to Breitbart News, “the two men reportedly exchanged views on a number of ‘issues of common interest’ including peace and global harmony, and discussed cooperation on issues of peaceful coexistence and the spread of love.”

The spread of love. Yes, that’s what the Muslim World League is all about.

Nor is this the first time a Muslim leader has thanked the Pope for being so very useful. Last July, Ahmed al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Cairo’s al-Azhar, thanked him for his “defense of Islam against the accusation of violence and terrorism.”

Has any other Pope of Rome in the history of Christianity ever been heralded as a “defender of Islam”?

Of course not. But the Catholic Church has come a long way since the days of Pope Callixtus III, who vowed in 1455 to “exalt the true Faith, and to extirpate the diabolical sect of the reprobate and faithless Mahomet in the East.”

If time travel could be arranged and Pope Francis could run into Callixtus III, Callixtus could “expect a punch,” for Francis is not just a defender of Islam, but a defender of the Sharia death penalty for blasphemy: after Islamic jihadists murdered the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists who had drawn Muhammad, Francis obliquely justified the murders by saying that “it is true that you must not react violently, but although we are good friends if [an aide] says a curse word against my mother, he can expect a punch, it’s normal. You can’t make a toy out of the religions of others. These people provoke and then (something can happen). In freedom of expression there are limits.”

So for the Pope, murdering people for violating Sharia blasphemy laws is “normal,” and it isn’t terrorism for “Christian terrorism does not exist, Jewish terrorism does not exist, and Muslim terrorism does not exist. They do not exist,” he said in a speech last February. “There are fundamentalist and violent individuals in all peoples and religions—and with intolerant generalizations they become stronger because they feed on hate and xenophobia.”

New York Times Frets over Suffering Illegal Aliens in Fire-Ravaged Wine Country

The Times is concerned that the recent infernos in northern California have left many of the foreign workers homeless, or certainly with fewer housing choices. The paper fears that they might pick up and depart, leaving wineries with no workers for the vineyards.

Interestingly, many of the grape pickers are illegal immigrants, even though the H-2A visa allows farmers to have as many foreign ag workers as they want.

But technology provides the answer to any fire-caused labor shortage with a variety of agricultural robots. The video below reports that regarding the chore of pruning back shoots, “In a nine-hour workday, a crew of about 20 workers can get to 200 plants, but with these machines a crew of just three workers can get to over 14,000.”

The machine still needs a driver, but a self-driving tractor-robot for grape-picking can’t be far off.

A French inventor has created a more futuristic-looking machine, called a Wall-Ye, for tending the grapes, shown below. It is a tiny, less tractor-like machine that putters around from the ground level to do its thing. The video following says the inventor hopes to put the machine into production in a few months, and the cost will be around 25,000 euros.

So the New York Times needn’t worry about agricultural tasks getting done — that sector of the automation revolution is moving ahead quite rapidly.

As Fires Move On, Wine Country Wonders Whether Immigrants Will, Too, New York Times, October 17, 2017

Many of the foreign-born workers the region depends on are undocumented and do not qualify for most disaster aid. They may struggle to find affordable housing.

SEBASTOPOL, Calif. — The lush vineyards that dot the hillsides and valleys here largely survived the fires that leveled neighborhood after neighborhood to the east.

Crushed cabernet sauvignon, merlot and other grapes in tanks are now fermenting into wines that have earned California a prestigious place among global producers.

But the wine industry and the lodging, restaurant and construction sectors that help make this bucolic region a draw for millions of visitors each year are now bracing for a different crisis: the potential loss of many members of their immigrant work force.

Some 5,700 houses and structures have been destroyed and many more damaged by the blazes that barreled through Northern California last week. About 100,000 people were displaced, temporarily or permanently.

It is still too early to know how many of them were immigrants, who are in the most precarious position of any group. Because many of them are in the country illegally, they are ineligible for most disaster aid, raising concerns that those without places to live will move to other regions where housing is more plentiful and cheaper.

“To function, we have to be able to retain the immigrant workers in the area,” said Cameron Mauritson, who grows grapes on 350 acres in Sonoma County for 60 wineries. Losing them, he said, would be “catastrophic to our economy.”

In absolute numbers, the population of immigrants in Los Angeles, Oakland and other California metropolitan areas dwarfs that of Sonoma County. But immigrants play a significant role here: nearly one-fifth of the residents in Santa Rosa’s metropolitan area are foreign-born, according to an analysis by Manuel Pastor, a professor at the University of Southern California who studies immigration. Latin American immigrants, mainly from Mexico, dominate the blue-collar work force.

Mark Steyn: the Left Is Attempting to Equate Republicans with Nazis

A segment of Fox’s morning show on Sunday began with a picture of the recent Boston demonstrations. On the left side were a handful of people standing in favor of free speech; on the right in the photo was a mob of thousands of antifa thugs, probably rentals as was likely the case in Charlottesville.

Below, the photo being discussed:

Nobody at Fox mentioned that there was probably a dearth of free speechers because people were afraid of being beaten up by the thugs allowed to run rampant by police, as has been reported in Charlottesville. That danger tends to cut down on attendance. And there was violence in Boston, like the woman who was assaulted as she held an American flag.

Antifa thugs rarely get busted but one example happened in Berkeley: masked professor Eric Clanton was charged a couple months ago with four felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon after he used a U lock bike lock to slug at least seven people in a protest.

But back to the actual TV discussion, Mark Steyn made an important point that the left is trying to equate Trump voters as being nazis, which does seem to be the goal, albeit insane. Do the lefties actually think that there are 62 million nazis in this country (the number of Trump voters)? If so, the commie antifa probably should move to France where everyone loves diversity.

Or can lefties manage to think at all in their current state of anti-Trump hysteria which does not seem to be abating? The mainstream left media certainly encourages the mass mental illness by creating a total fiction about Trump, Republicans and racism.

FOX GUY: Yesterday was a big day in Boston. I want to pull up a picture first and we’re going to explain this picture, do a little play-by-play. Okay folks, you’re looking at one shot on the left, one shot on the right. This was a protest — a movement, I should say — permitted by the Free Speech group. Which group do you think that is? Well in fact, they’re the ones on the left. Take a look at the mass of humanity on the right 15,000 counter-protesters, and Mark, when you look at this, you think this could be a problem for free speechers, not the KKK, not neo-nazis, but people who believe in free speech rights.

MARK STEYN: Yeah, I would rather we had more speech and fewer protests because I think the less speech you have, the more violence you have, and it would be a lot better if actually we had more people having more vigorous debates rather than toppling statues in the street. And my worry about this is that actually the left is making an organized attempt to say that if you do not vote Democrat that you’re a Nazi.

That’s the point of this. They don’t care about Confederate. . .

INTERRUPTION: That’s dangerous rhetoric, Mark.

STEYN: Well it is dangerous, because as you were talking about earlier, it’s an explicit thing to actually tie policy differences on rather boring things, like taxes and immigration, to the most crude form of demagoguery. That’s what we just seen this last week. They don’t actually care what Trump thinks about some statue, they don’t think about whether there’s any actual real connection between guys calling for Jews to be in ovens and Trump — they want to say, if you vote for Trump, you’re a nazi, so we can’t talk with you, all we can do is smash up your rally.

JON SCOTT: Those statues that so many people want to tear down were erected in the South when Democrats were in charge — does anybody remember that? I’m not saying that the Democratic Party of today is necessarily approving of that but let’s look. . .

STEYN: Yeah I don’t have a dog in this fight. They’re basically today’s Democrats arguing about statues of yesterday’s Democrats. I mean, speaking personally, I think they should all be torn down and you should have some ones of George III put up, because that’s before all the trouble.

I watched you guys where we can’t have Christopher Columbus, we can’t have George Washington, we can’t have a Ben Franklin — like who’s left?

SCOTT: Go to Saudi Arabia where they don’t put up statues to any human being, they put up statues to technology.

TRISH REGAN: But Mark is onto something here; in other words they are in a very organized way trying to label anybody who’s a conservative, who is a Republican a racist and this is dangerous rhetoric.

Diverse Fremont California Installs Truck Barrier Security for Festival

Diversity comes with an expensive price tag in the form of security measures to protect the citizens from jihadists and other unfriendlies. Major marathons like Boston’s (already a victim), for example, now require a huge police presence which was never the case before diverse immigration of historically enemy tribes.

Today’s instance is the Fremont Festival of the Arts which has installed a dozen truck barriers to prevent against the sort of deadly jihad attack suffered in Berlin last December where a stolen 18-wheeler crashed into Germans enjoying their traditional Christmas market and 12 died. In the French beach town of Nice on Bastille Day, July 14 2016, an ISIS-inspired Tunisian drove a 19-ton truck through crowds, killing 86 and injuring more than 400 others.

Unlike many anti-jihad security measures, authorities revealed the dollar cost — $500,000.

Below, the city of Fremont California has installed truck-jihad-prevention barriers for its arts and music festival.

How Islamically diverse is Fremont? I observed the presence of a “Little Kabul” community of Afghans in 2007, and they haven’t left. The group is not averse to using vehicles as weapons, as shown by the SUV jihad in 2006 where Afghan immigrant Omeed Aziz Popal ran down more than a dozen people in the San Francisco Bay Area, killing one.

So investing in truck barriers is probably a good idea in Islamified Fremont.

Barriers Designed to Prevent Vehicle Attacks Installed at Fremont Festival of the Arts, NBC Bay Area, August 5, 2017

In the wake of deadly vehicle attacks in Europe, city officials and those protecting the Fremont Festival of the Arts installed large barriers designed to prevent such an attack from causing a catastrophe at the popular Bay Area event.

One dozen barriers, which are devised to halt a vehicle weighing in at 15,000 pounds and travelling at 40 mph from plowing into crowds, are blocking roads leading into the street festival expected to attract approximately 200,000 to 300,000 people this weekend. [. . .]

The 12 barriers, which are each 27 feet in length, cost the city of Fremont just over $500,000.

“We felt like this was the right decision, the right purchase to be able to protect our festivals that we have in town,” Snelson said.

France: Before and after Islam in Two Minutes

Versions of the video below have been showing up on Twitter, and the comparisons of French society before and after Islam are quite affecting. From a peaceful, civilized life to civil war, all because of unwise immigration.

I tried to create a similar effect with still photos in a blog, Muslim Immigration Has Turned Paris into a Violent Dystopian Hellhole, but the video is much better.

Europe’s History of Islamic Jihad Should Be a Warning to America

Dale Hurd has been cautioning Americans about Islam for years from his travels in Europe, but his latest is more pointed and urgent than before. Perhaps he is disappointed by liberal judges blocking President Trump’s temporary time-out from Muslim immigration from several countries with low or non-existent levels of government supervision.

When the Brussels Airport was bombed in March 2016 by jihadists, 32 were killed there and at two other bombing sites in the area.

Liberals will do anything to seize power, including the destruction of its treasured narrative of being the protectors of women and gays. Even moderate Muslim immigration endangers both those groups substantially. Streets are no longer safe for women in many European countries, but you see no protests from left activists on the subject — no, there are too busy demanding more Muslims to sharia-ize the continent.

Hurd points out the joining of the left antifa thugs with Islam. Apparently the hoody boyz think the Muslim monsters will be fine partners in taking over society. But antifas shouldn’t count on it because Muslims don’t treat those outside the tribe as equals.

Is it too obvious to say America should end immigration entirely?

Muslims are suspect as the historic enemies of the west, and the automated future means imported workers are entirely unnecessary.

European Terror: A Preview of America’s Future?, By Dale Hurd, CBN News, June 23, 2017

PARIS and BERLIN — Muslim terror attacks across Europe have turned a once peaceful continent into a battleground. Could this be a preview of what’s ahead for America?

Former New York Police Commissioner Bill Bratton says European-style terror attacks are coming to the U.S.

Terror: It’s in the Quran.

“There’s no doubt about that whatsoever. The fact is that everywhere that large numbers of Muslims settle, there is conflict,” Islam expert Robert Spencer told CBN News.

Because, Spencer says, the violence flows from the Quran.

“The Quran says ‘when you meet the unbeliever strike the neck.’ So, the Islamic state does these beheading videos and the world was horrified, but its right in the Quran,” he said.

“The fact that something is in the Quran does not mean all Muslims are going to do it, but it does mean that some are. There’s no doubt this will happen in the United States, once Muslims are here in sufficient numbers,” Spencer adds.

And with it comes political enforcement by the Left, targeting those who oppose uncontrolled Muslim immigration, either with a racist label, protests, or even violence.

Americans are used to other nations following them, but when it comes to Muslim immigration as well as the attendant political correctness and speech oppression, Europe’s reality could be America’s future. Continue reading this article

Douglas Murray Argues That Europe Is Committing Suicide by Diversity

Author Douglas Murray is making the rounds upon the release of his new book The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam, doing interviews and writing opinion pieces. His chat with Tucker Carlson earlier in the month discusses Europe’s curious denial of the catastrophe it has welcomed inside the gates.

Islamic invaders make clear their intentions toward Europe on the Macedonian border in 2015, demanding “Open or Die!”

The book should be a reminder to Americans in particular that all diversity is not equal. While Mexican immigration brings worsening crime, misogyny and poor scholarship skills, there are at least burritos and other tasty chow. Muslim culture brings nothing — no cuisine, literature or music. The best the west can hope for is the lack of jihad tendencies among newbies, but that behavior may appear in the second generation anyway, as youthful rebellion turns to the well developed dark side of Islam.

An interview on British radio a few weeks back is worth a listen:

It’s interesting that Murray discusses the history of failed ideas in Europe in his Wall Street Journal opinion piece, saying the resulting “tiredness” has caused Europeans to give up on their culture and welcome the “inevitable” influx of unfriendly foreigners. However he doesn’t mention that Europeans are accepting the most dangerous belief of all, that diversity is the highest pinnacle of human progress. On the contrary, diversity the ideology is another dumb idea in the vein of communism and socialism. When the diversity is Muslim-flavored, welcoming millions of its invasive practitioners is truly suicide

Europe’s Elites Seem Determined to Commit Suicide by ‘Diversity’, by Douglas Murray, Wall Street Journal, June 18, 2017

Politicians say with fury that their migration policies ‘must’ work. What if they don’t?

Europe in 2017 is racked with uncertainty—the eurozone crises, the endless challenges of the European Union, national elections that resemble endless rounds of bullet-dodging. Yet even these events are insignificant compared with the deep tectonic shifts beneath the Continent’s politics, shifts that Europeans—and their allies—ignore at our peril.

Throughout the migration crisis of recent years I traveled across the Continent, from the reception islands into which migrants arrive to the suburbs in which they end up and the chancelleries which encouraged them to come. For decades Europe had encouraged guest workers, and then their families, to come. As Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel once admitted, nobody expected them to stay.

Yet stay they did, with their numbers swelling even when there were no jobs. Waking up to the results of their policy, European societies rebranded themselves “multicultural” societies, only to begin wondering what that meant. Could a multicultural society make any demands of its newcomers? Or would that be “racist”?

From the 2000s legal and illegal immigration picked up. Boats regularly set out from Turkey and North Africa to enter Europe illegally. Syrians fleeing civil war pushed into the Continent, soon joined by people from across sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, the Middle East and Far East.

Today the great migration is off the front pages. Yet it goes on. On an average weekend nearly 10,000 people arrive on Italian reception islands alone. Where do they go? What do they expect? And what do we expect of them?

To find the answer to these and other questions it is necessary to ask deeper questions. Why did Europe decide it could take in the poor and dispossessed of the world? Why did we decide that anybody in the world fleeing war, or just seeking a better life, could come to Europe and call it home?

The reasons lie partly in our history, not least in the overwhelming German guilt, which has spread across the Continent and affected even our cultural cousins in America and Australia. Egged on by those who wish us ill, we have fallen for the idea that we are uniquely guilty, uniquely to be punished, and uniquely in need of having our societies changed as a result.

There is also, for Europe, the sense of what I call tiredness—the feeling that the story might have run out: that we have tried religion, all imaginable forms of politics, and that each has, one after another, led us to disaster. When we taint every idea we touch, perhaps a change is as good as a rest. Continue reading this article

Resistance to EU Mandate of Muslim Immigration Hardens in Eastern Europe

The rumble is growing from nations in Eastern Europe that they will not submit to Muslim immigration being forced upon them by the EU bureaucrats in Brussels. Memories are long in the east, where barbaric Islamic rule under the Ottomans lasted for centuries. (One practice, Dershirme — the kidnapping of Christian boys for a life of military service — is but one example of muslim oppression.)

Eastern Europeans don’t want hostile muslims dumped in their countries, because they’ve been there and done that. Plus the new threat is huge, with millions of jihadists fired up and on the march. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban recently remarked, “Migration turned out to be the Trojan horse of terrorism.”

On September 13, 2015, thousands of Poles rallied in Warsaw to protest the EU’s open borders, with slogans like “Islam will be the death of Europe.”

For resistance against Brussels, there is strength in numbers, as more countries line up to deny the EU’s forced migration mandate:

Czech Republic Joins Poland, Hungary and Slovakia in Refusing EU-Imposed Migrants, Gateway Pundit, June 10, 2017

The Czech Republic has joined its Central European neighbors in officially announcing a withdrawal from the European Union’s 2015 migrant resettlement program.

After much criticism of the scheme, which seeks to resettle an initial 160,000 migrants from Italy and Greece across EU member states, the Czechs have finally withdrawn citing concerns over security and the ‘’dysfunctionality’’ of what has been criticized as a shambolic program.

Prague had accepted only 12 of the 1,600 migrants required by Brussels before leaving the program, which imposes quotas on all 28 member states under threat of sanction.

The resettlement scheme was the EU’s initial response to the near Biblical wave of migrants which arrived in autumn 2015 following Angela Merkel’s decision to open Germany’s borders…

Naturally, no good deed goes unpunished by authoritarian multiculturalists, and EU honchos mean to smack down any resistance against their toxic diversity scheme, as noted by the Guardian (6/13): EU takes action against eastern states for refusing to take refugees. Brussels is bringing a court case against Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic, and what’s the worst it could do? Demand fines? If a worsened argument hastens a further breakup of the European Union, that would be an excellent outcome for all.

Furthermore, it’s not just Eastern Europeans complaining about the EU’s forced immigration: a new poll from Pew Research found that Europeans in general overwhelmingly want their national governments to determine who enters, not Brussels.

Vaclav Klaus, the former president of the Czech Republic, is a famous defender of national sovereignty:

Self-destruction by Immigration: the Example from Britain

Great Britain is looking very weak all of a sudden. First there’s the Islamic mass murder of mostly women and girls in Manchester, then the news that Britain is home to 23,000 jihadists.

The Times front-paged the ugly statistic on Saturday:

The police have gotten a lot of criticism in the last few days for failure to prevent the Manchester atrocity, but with that many enemies residing inside the country, the authorities are simply overwhelmed by the numbers. The elites’ lack of political will to defend the people is also a major impediment to national security.

With tens of thousands of potential fighters living inside Britain, we should think more expansively about what is possible in the near future, such as a guerrilla-style uprising aided by digital connectivity. The jihadists have already shown their ability to use modern technology. As migrants, many employed social media to facilitate their travels to reach Europe by communicating routes, free stuff etc. In Kiel Germany, a couple of unfriendlies used their phones to assemble an ad hoc group to harass teenaged German girls. There were larger jihad crowds organized for the New Years Eve attacks on women in Cologne and elsewhere.

The hostile Muslims may be barbarians, but they are plugged in to the new internet way of war.

Remember that France had several weeks of diverse rioting in 2005 that a local official called a “civil war.” Following an incident where a couple of Muslims managed to electrocute themselves in a power substation, Muslims burned buildings and cars across France, police arrested nearly 3000 and three non-rioters were killed.

And that rioting occurred before social media became such a facilitator for rapid call-ups of willing fighters. Future sustained violence will be more organized and therefore more effective, from the jihadists’ perspective.

Both France and Britain have growing jihadist populations that may make a modern version of civil war likely.

The sensible thing would be to end immigration entirely and get about deporting every single enemy alien that can be expelled. But that strategy would be too effective, plus the wailing about fairness and diversity and feelings would be difficult for weasel politicians to bear.

MI5 reveal ‘up to 23,000 jihadis living in Britain’ ahead of Bank Holiday security boost, Express, May 27, 2017

UP TO 23,000 potential jihadis are reportedly living in Britain as police investigate the sprawling terror network linked to Manchester bomber Salman Abedi.

Security services revealed the figure as they said up to 3,000 would-be terrorists are being investigated as “subjects of interest”.

The announcement, unusual for security agencies such as MI5 and MI6, highlights the difficulties in investigating potential terror threats, according to insiders.

Amid a reported 500 active terror investigations, one security source told the Mail: “It is difficult because becoming aware that someone is an extremist sympathiser does not make them a live and present danger.

“It is a balancing act – is the intelligence sufficient to push them up the list of priorities or should the focus be on someone else given the finite resources available?”

The warning comes as extra police officers and soldiers are deployed to thousands of events across the UK this bank holiday weekend amid heightened terror fears.

Sick terror group Islamic State, which claimed responsibility for Monday’s attack that killed 22, has called for “all-out war” against the west as the Islamic holy month of Ramadan begins.
