Is the U.S. Importing Anti-Semitism?

Are American Jews Endangering Themselves by Supporting Open-Doors Immigration?

St. Louis in Havana harbor

Jews have been one of the strongest groups supporting virtually unlimited immigration. Have they learned the wrong lesson from the tragedy the St. Louis? The St. Louis was the passenger ship that brought refugee Jews to America from Nazi Germany, but was not allowed to land and allow Jews to escape the horrors of the holocaust. Tragically, the ship returned to Europe and many on it ended their lives in Hitler's ovens.

Many liberal Jews apparently accept the relentless propaganda about the desirability of so-called “diversity” as being the new ideal in our society. But is it a good idea to import historic enemies of Jews to America? Do anti-Semitic Arabs put aside long-held animosities simply because they live in the United States and not in Iran or Yemen? Many news stories indicate otherwise — see the links below, as well as the remarks in Taliban USA on this website.

An important consideration is the growth of the Muslim community in America through continued immigration and high fertility. It's possible that Muslims may outnumber Jews in the U.S. within the decade, which will certainly change the political equation in time. It may also bear upon how safe Jews are in America, if the French experience is to be taken as a preview. A large number of Muslims in France (5 million) in relation to a smaller number of Jews (half a million) appears to correlate with anti-Semitic violence there.

Another dangerous group is the Aztlan chicano extremists who want to carve out the Southwest as a Mexican homeland. (They seem unsatisfied with the present one.) They have been unapologetically anti-Semitic, from crude flyers to their hate-filled website which includes the propaganda lie that won't die, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Importing Anti-Semitism?
Good question, considering anti-Semitic violence by Palestinian immigrants, as well as Aztlan statements that when they take power in California, ALL non-Mexicans will be purged in a major act of ethnic cleansing.

La Raza and Jews on Collision Course in "Alta California"
Here are statements of Chicano separatists, who aim to create a seceded U.S. Southwest in a few decades from demographic warfare — namely high immigration and an extreme birthrate. Are they nuts or should we consider this a serious threat? Certainly too many people in the 1920s considered Mein Kampf the rantings of an extremist rather than a statement of intention.

Anti-Semitism on the Rise in America: ADL Poll from June 2002
One rather frightening statistic is that while 20 percent of American-born Hispanics hold anti-Semitic views, 44 percent of foreign-born Latinos hold strongly anti-Semitic opinions. For example, more than half of foreign-born Hispanics (55%) agree with the assertion that "Jews don't care what happens to anyone but their own kind."

Black October: The unreported attacks against the Jews of France
The Weekly Standard reports that the violence following the 2000 intifada uprising in the Middle East included the most shocking anti-Semitic incidents since World War II. Among them were six French synagogues burned down in less than three weeks. The magazine calls it “protracted domestic terrorism on a large scale” and notes that nearly all of the perpetrators were Muslims.

Council on Islamic American Relations New Releases
Check out the various demands from American Muslims made on the media and politicians. One example is the group's demand that the bad guys in the film based on a Tom Clancy book be changed from Islamic terrorists — too stereotypic, they said. In the film, The Sum of All Fears, the terrorists are cast as neo-Nazis.

Islamic Child Abuse suicide bomber boy
What else can you call it when an anti-Israeli group trains impressionable boys, aged 12 to 15, to strap explosives to themselves and become suicide bombers? The Islamic Jihad summer school teaches the boys that such martyrdom will send them directly to paradise where they will be greeted by 70 virgins.
This story from the New York Post reveals that very young boys — aged 4 to 8 — are trained to go through the motions of being suicide bombers as the children are dressed up in camo fatigues and fake explosives. They learn skills like how to keep the explosives hidden until reaching the desired target. This page has particularly unsettling pictures of children being raised in the Palestinian style. In Intifada and Education the author says that Palestinian culture "hardwires" cruelty into the upbringing of children. In another article 'Baby bomber photo' shocks Israel we see a disturbing picture of a toddler dressed in terrorist drag, although the parents said the photo was a joke. "The Palestianian Way of Death" is explored, noting that one school numbered 10 children who had attempted suicide bombing.
But the best proof by far of systemic Palestinian child abuse is the Little Green Footballs Slide Show of amazing photos, many dozens, overwhelming to watch..

U.S. Islamic Schools Teaching Homegrown Hate
Ken Adelman reflects on the Washington Post piece "Where Two Worlds Collide: Muslim Schools Face Tension of Islamic, U.S. Views." The article revealed Muslims teenagers near Washington DC being taught that "the Day of Judgment can't come until Jesus Christ returns to Earth, breaks the cross and converts everyone to Islam, and until Muslims start attacking Jews."

French Jews Demand Protection
The spring 2002 hostilities in Israel were again reflected in increased violence in France against Jews. In Marseilles, a synagogue was burned to the ground. Marseille has a particularly large population of Muslims.

European Jihad
According to this writer, the anti-semitic violence is worse in Belgium than in France, and cites a particularly nasty riot. A "pro-peace" rally in Antwerp peopled by mostly Morrocan Arab immigrants savaged a Jewish section of the city reminiscent of Kristallnacht. The author remarked, "Everybody knew that what happens in France can happen in Belgium as well, because both countries have large populations of Jews and larger populations of Arabs." In another account of mounting violence against European Jews by Arabs, "Jews suffer surge of hate on streets of Belgium" (5/30/02), anti-semitic violence has become so normal that it is not mentioned in the news any more: "The incidents are now so common that they rarely make it into the local press."

Mideast war exposes ugly Europeans
Canadian columnist Mark Steyn reflects on the anti-semitic violence common in Europe and states, "This is not virulently anti-Jew, just the familiar European urge to appease... The Europeans are scared of their Muslim populations, scared of what perceived slight might turn them from shooting up kosher butchers to shooting up targets of more, shall we say, concern to the general population."

France's angry young Muslims
The Christian Science Monitor notes that anti-semitic violence in France these days is perpetrated mostly by North African immigrants. They don't fit into French society and therefore identify themselves with the global Muslim community. "The kids don't practice Islam, but they use it to give themselves an identity," remarked the mayor of a small town. At the time of this article, April 2002, France was experiencing 12 anti-Semitic incidents daily on average, ranging from graffiti to assaults.

Parisiens speak out as protesters march
After Le Pen surprized everyone with an upset in the preliminary round of voting for President of France in April 2002, most media coverage was hysterical. This article interviews several residents of Paris in a reflective mood. One Jewish woman says she considered voting for Le Pen because she fears the violence and disorder from the immigrant Muslims.

Thousands march in San Francisco protest
An estimated 20,000 protesting American policy in the Middle East transformed "2 miles of city streets into a sea of red, green, black and white Palestinian flags." The march consisted mostly of persons of "Palestinian descent and immigrants from other Arab countries who became politically active after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks." This "peace" demonstration had a little problem, though, when some in support of Israel had to be protected by the police from the "peace" marchers, a hypocrisy noted in a letter to the Chronicle a couple days later by friend of LTG Dana Garcia.

Jewish students hit by rise in campus hate crimes
Hate crimes against Jews on American campuses are increasing with the presence of more Arab and Muslim students.

Civic Leaders Speak against Hate Crime Binge
Several Bay Area mayors joined with the ADL in a press conference condemning an increase in anti-Semitic incidents in the region — 60 reported in the first five months of 2002 while only 13 were counted in all of 2001. Notable by their absence were any representatives from the American Muslim or Arab groups.

Muslim populations may push Jews to the right
Do Muslims already outnumber Jews in the United States? The growing number of Muslim immigrants in the U.S. and Europe bring an attitude of non-assimilation, which may cause Jews to reassess their often liberal views on immigration.

European Jihad
This account of an anti-Jewish "pro-Palestinian" demonstration in Antwerp Belgium sounds more like a mini-Kristallnacht than anything else. Isn't it curious that a "peace" rally could turn so destructive?

Importing Anti-Semitism, Continued
Steve Sailer notes the significantly higher percentage of anti-Semitic Hispanic immigrants according to their polled opinions about Jews and Israel — about double that of the number of American-born persons of Latino descent. In one example, 55 percent of foreign-born Hispanics agree with the assertion that "Jews don't care what happens to anyone but their own kind," compared to 26 percent of Hispanics born in the U.S.

The Impact of Islamic Immigration on American Values and the Jewish Community
This transcript is of a discussion (June 2002) sponsored by the Center for Immigration Studies and the American Jewish Congress in Philadelphia. The politics of increased Muslim immigration are noted — declining support for Israel for one. Still, the idea of ending immigration from certain countries, even those that are deemed "terror supporting" by the State Department, is thought too extreme to consider. (Rhetorical Question: Did the United States allow normal immigration and tourism from Germany and Japan during WWII?)

Liberte, Egalite, Judeophobie: Why Le Pen is the least of France's problems.
This Weekly Standard article paints a frightening picture of an angry Muslim population unwilling to assimilate. One young Muslim accosted a government minister saying, "F-- off! We don't want to live anymore in a country that has Jews in it!" Violent crime by this group was a major factor in the surprising electoral success of Mr. Le Pen. (Don't miss the rather subtle link at the end to the second part.)

Something Rotten in Denmark
The rapid influx of Muslims into Denmark has made life for the nation's 6,000 Jews increasingly frightening. A school principal told Jewish parents that she could no longer guarantee the safety of their children. Furthermore, anti-Israel demonstrations have become anti-Jewish riots, and a local Islamic organization has called for the murder of Jews "wherever you find them."

France's Jewish Problem
A better title would be "French Jews' Muslim Problem." Written by Michel Gurfinkiel, the author of the 2000 article "Black October: The unreported attacks against the Jews of France," this update (July 2002) to the situation notes the changing political allegiances. Because the Muslim population of France is now 10 times that of French Jews, "anti-Semitism need no longer be a concern of the political establishment."

Islam in France: Is the French Way of Life in Danger?
This 1997 piece by Michel Gurfinkiel was ahead of its time by observing "alien values," particularly that of non-assimilation and entertaining the "hopes of superseding the present Judeo-Christian nation of France."

Palestinian Riot in Montreal
On September 9, 2002, former Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was invited to speak at Concordia University in Montreal. However, a riot of Palestinian students ensued, making it impossible for him to even enter the building safely. Jewish attendees were trapped for a time inside the building with the violent protesters and had to be escorted out 10 at a time by police. One comment to the original posting noted that Concordia has a high number of foreign students, particularly from Islamic nations. The student newspaper has an account and several photos. And just a few days later, a Jewish student was attacked on campus.

Synagogue Attacked in Riot-Torn Belgian City - Antwerp
After the murder of an Arab by a Belgian, local Arab radical Abu Jahjah inflamed local North Africans to disorder, in which Flemish and black-owned businesses were attacked, but those showing Arab European League stickers were spared. Included in the rioting was a molotov cocktail thrown at a synagogue. The Telegraph of the UK remarked that, "Belgium's liberal media agreed yesterday that the country's experiment with tolerant multiculturalism had totally broken down."

The muslims are coming
This 1990 article from Daniel Pipes is a basic piece of writing on the subject of Muslim immigration to Europe and America and its demographic and political consequences. The numbers are most worrisome, particularly in Europe, e.g. Muslims in France outnumber all non-Catholics combined, including both Protestants and Jews.

Canada suffers outbreak of anti-Semitic violence
Attacks on synagogues have increased alarmingly according to this report (11/24/02). Many have hired full-time security as a result of fire-bombings and personal attacks. Canadian Jewish Congress has counted at least 50 incidents of arson, assault, graffiti and vandalism against Jewish targets since Israeli-Palestinian tensions increased in the Middle East in late September.

Jews in France Fearful of Attacks
French Jews now feel they should hide their religion, meaning no yalmukes or other religious symbols. Others are leaving for Israel, believing that they will be safer there. The possibility of war in the Middle East makes many Jews wary of more anti-Semitic violence perpetrated by the large Muslim community in France, now estimated at 5 million.

Barbarians at the Gates of Paris
Muslim immigration over decades has produced an entire class of young men who see crime as their acceptable lifestyle choice. The French middle class feel increasingly threatened by the breakdown of law and the complaint about "crime" is generally shorthand for immigration problems.

Fear and Loathing at San Francisco State
Director of Jewish Studies Laurie Zoloth describes the anti-Semitism now common on campus now that pro-Palestinian Muslim students have reached critical mass.

French Jews Tell of a New and Threatening Wave of Anti-Semitism
Perhaps this story is typical in multicultural France these days: a secular Jewish boy is beaten up by the Muslim students in the Catholic school they all attend. His mother remarked, "The political climate is too pro-Arab, and in the past year it has become intolerable."

More than one quarter of Jews in France want to leave, poll finds (March 2003)
Years of an increasing Muslim population with accompanying violence have convinced many that it is no long safe to live there. Some polling details: "Overall, 78 percent of French Jews blame radical Muslim youth in France for spreading anti-Semitism, while 76 percent also blame Israeli policy toward the Palestinians for hardening French government policy and contributing to anti-Semitism.Sixty percent also point to the French themselves as culprits."

France Is Not a Western Country Anymore
Still more distressing news from France, and how rapidly the French have abandoned their traditional values of liberty, equality and fraternity for a Muslim-ascendent culture of Sharia law and women's oppression.

French Rallies Against War Shift Focus To Israel
A caption reads, "The antiwar movement in France has evolved into a battleground for French Arab Muslims to attack Israel." Of course, it's more than that, since many French Jews have come under attack.

Jewish restaurant in Paris torched, 4/3/02
Anti-semitic violence continues, or perhaps accelerates, as a Jewish-owned restaurant burned to the ground as a result of arson.

A Quote from CAIR's Omar Amed
Columnist David Frum notes that the Council on American Islamic Relations Chairman of the Board made a rather explosive remark in 1998: Omar Ahmad stated, "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."

France and its Jews
The mounting violence against Jews in France has convinced some to move to Israel, despite the continuing horrific carnage there from Palestinian bombers. In 2002, 2,556 French Jews emigrated to Israel, double the number of the previous year. Jews are further pushed to leave by the French government's refusal to deal with the problem of anti-Semitism and its obvious tilt toward the large Muslim population.

Planned Boca mosque fuels Jewish-Muslim tensions
In Boca Raton, Florida, Jews are alarmed about a planned 27,000-square-foot mosque. Jews have noted that the group building the mosque have sponsored speakers in the past who have represented terrorist causes.

How Wide Should Our Open Doors Be?
This opinion piece from The Jewish Week, a New York publication, indicates that the Jewish community is beginning to take the subject of immigration more seriously. Editor Gary Rosenblatt has done his homework, and offers intelligent commentary backed up by facts, e.g. Muslims may outnumbers Jews in America by the next Census.

Britain's Muslims resent being cast as a band of outsiders
While the British protests against the war in Iraq made Muslims there feel connected to the larger community, but dissatisfaction remains. One expression of Muslim unhappiness is the persistance of extremist groups like Al-Muhajiroun, which believes that "The hour will not come until Muslims fight the Jews and kill them."

Funding Hate: How the Ford Foundation Supports Islamic Groups and Works to Destroy Israel
One would think that any group with the Ford name would be very wary of supporting anti-Semitism, given Henry Ford's history of spreading some of the worst anti-Jewish propaganda. Evidently having billions of dollars in the bank means never having to say you're sorry. At any rate, this series of four articles examines how the Ford Foundation has put millions of dollars into violent Palestinian organizations.

EU body shelves report on anti-semitism
The European Union's racism watchdog has shelved a report on anti-semitism because the study concluded Muslims and pro-Palestinian groups were behind many of the incidents it examined. Apparently, appeasement-minded Euros don't want to upset the millions of touchy Muslims within its boundaries.

Suppressed study shows jump in anti-Semitism — Contentious report blames much of the increase on European Muslims
The European Jewish Congress released a surpressed study showing that much of the increase in anti-Semitic violence in recent years was caused by European Muslims, although the left shared some responsibility. The study had reportedly been quashed to protect the tender sensibilities of EU followers of Islam.

Immigration Plan Poses Challenges
Ira Mehlman (of the Federation for American Immigration Reform) criticizes President Bush's January proposal for amnesty, citing the problem of increasing Muslim immigration. The increasing violence against Jews in Europe by immigrant Muslims is noted as portending a possible future.

From PLO Terrorist to Lover of Zion
As a young man, Walid Shoebat routinely threw firebombs at Israelis, but he has more recently come to regard Islam as a dangerous religion. Asked whether Muslims living in America adhere to the program of violent jihad, he answered, "The Arabic speaking communities in America, however, do indeed support Osama bin Ladin and Hamas."
He further remarked, "If Muslims have the upper hand then Jihad is waged by force. If Muslims don't have the upper hand then Jihad is waged through financial and political means. Since Muslims do not have the upper hand in America or Europe, they talk about peace while supporting Hamas and Hezballah. The whole idea of Islam being a peaceful religion emanates from that silent stage of Jihad."

A Vicious, Anti-Semitic Film
"The Diaspora" is a $5.1 million, 30-part mini-series produced by Syrian television which portrays the ancient "blood libel" (that Jews kill Christians and use the blood in food), as well as many horrific scenes that show Jews as brutal monsters. When Israeli Cabinet Minister Natan Sharansky showed clips of the film to European politicians who denied the re-emergence of anti-Semitism there, the pols were forced to reconsider their views.

EU 'covered up' attacks on Jews by young Muslims
Europe is in deep denial about the growing violence on the part of Muslims. An important study on anti-Semitic violence from an EU hate monitoring group stated in its summary that most attacks came from right-wing Europeans, while the body of the report said precisely the opposite. Most of anti-Jewish violence is being perpetrated by Muslims, with only 9 percent attributable to the right in 2002.

Arabs protest Vienna's plans to name a square after the founder of movement to create Israel
Plans to name a Vienna square after the founder of Zionism drew protest from the Arab League, which urged city fathers to reconsider for the sake of continued "good relations" with the Arab world. In fact, the letter expressing anger over the name also suggested the plan could lead to terrorism. Hungarian-born Theodor Herzl campaigned for a Jewish state because of the anti-Semitism he experienced in Austria and the railroading of French captain Alfred Dreyfus into a prison sentence.
Carna Amina Baghajati, a spokeswoman for Vienna's 120,000-strong Islamic community, suggested the square be named instead for Mohammad Asad, the Austrian-born Jew who changed his name from Leopold Weiss, converted to Islam and went on to become an honored 19th century Muslim scholar.

Why Current Immigration Policy Dooms American Jewry
Stephen Steinlight examines the bleak demographic realities facing Jews in the next decade or two, that continuing immigration from the Middle East means Muslims will outnumber Jews in this country. With that change will come declining political clout and less generosity toward Israel, not to mention the increased physical danger to individual Jews, as we see in the example of France.
In the accompanying panel discussion, Steinlight is joined by David Frum, Joseph Puder and Mark Krikorian for a wide-ranging discussion.

Mechista Terrorists
Aztlan radicals who believe the U.S. Southwest belong to Mexico also support Palestinian terrorists. The photos here show current and historical affiliation. There's also a map of militant Islamic groups in the U.S.

Judge pulls Damra citizenship
"Damra" is a Cleveland imam, one Fawaz Damra who was sentenced in September 2004 for two months in prison for his ties to terrorism. The court kindly allowed him to wait until the holy month of Ramadan is over to begin serving his sentence. That's pretty nice treatment for a man who raised money to kill Jews in the West Bank and declared on tape that Palestinians must "direct all the rifles at the first and last enemy of the Islamic nation, and that is the sons of monkeys and pigs, the Jews."

Eustatic Racism in Eurabia
Yes, Europeans have taken notice of the cultural invasion happening under their noses. The symptoms are frightening and growing: in the Swedish industrial city of Malmo, the Muslim neighborhoods are too violent for police to enter. President of the Jewish community of Goteborg Anders Carlberg stated, "The fear of being attacked is the primary concern of Jews in Sweden today."
Even so, the plan to welcome Islamic Turkey into the European Union continues on, although EU membership would allow any Turk to move anywhere in Europe. Talk about suicide on steroids.
