Sacramento Minuteman Rally Oct 29, 2005

On October 29, a couple hundred people rallied on the steps of the California State Capitol celebrating the work of the Minutemen's successful border watch and promoting the California Border Police Initiative. The event was reported by the Associated Press; the Sacramento Bee's article included photos showing what the police had to deal with from the anti-Minuteman demonstrators.

The rally emcee was Mark Williams, KFBK radio talk show host.

One of the speakers was Terry Anderson, host of a popular Sunday-night radio show in southern California, who rocked the crowd.

Minuteman co-founder Jim Gilchrist is a candidate for Congress in Orange County.

Three members of the 9/11 Families for a Secure America traveled from the east coast to speak. At the microphone is Peter Gadiel. To the left of him are Joan Molinaro and Bruce DeCell.

Listening to one of the speakers are (l to r) Terry Anderson, Peter Gadiel, an unidentified man, Congressional candidate Sonny Sardo who also addressed the crowd and Joan Molinaro.

Here's another crowd shot, with Carol Joyal, Chair of the Immigration Reform Network of Silicon Valley in the foreground.

Holding the flag here is Lupe Moreno, President of Latino Americans for Immigration Reform, who spoke at the rally.

While citizens were peaceably assembling to demand border enforcement, the California Highway Patrol and Sacramento Police had to protect them from three busloads of anarchists, communists and Mexican fifth columnists. (There were three arrests.)

Yes, anarchists.

Communists.

And Mexican fifth columnists.

Masks were common gear for the armchair revolutionaries, along with Mexican flags.

Beret. Check. Matching mask. Check. Bad attitude. Check. All ready to smash the state!
