Denmark Solidarity-Free Speech Rally, San Francisco, March 10, 2006

On March 10, several dozen friends of Denmark and free speech rallied in front of the Danish Embassy in San Francisco, despite the day being one of the coldest of the year.

Inspired by previous demonstrations in Washington and New York, Bay Area folks wanted to express "sammenhold" (solidarity) with Danes over the Cartoon Jihad affair, which has highlighted the threat which radical Islam poses for free speech and other freedoms we treasure.

Participants brought supportive signs, products of Denmark (Legos, cheese and cookies), and Danish and American flags.

Thanks to SFGate.com writer Cinnamon Stillwell for organizing this event.
