Dreier targeted on immigration
Open-borders hack Rep. David Dreier (R-CA) is clearly running scared, judging by his frantic behavior since an Oct. 6 internal poll. The efforts of radio show reformers John and Ken are clearly having the desired effect. They have been bashing Dreier in the "political human sacrifice" campaign in order to smack the national Republicans upside the head by taking out a powerful House member who is out of touch with his constituents over the immigration issue.

Eustatic Racism in Eurabia
Yes, Europeans have taken notice of the cultural invasion happening under their noses. The symptoms are frightening and growing: in the Swedish industrial city of Malmo, the Muslim neighborhoods are too violent for police to enter. President of the Jewish community of Goteborg Anders Carlberg stated, "The fear of being attacked is the primary concern of Jews in Sweden today."
Even so, the plan to welcome Islamic Turkey into the European Union continues on, although EU membership would allow any Turk to move anywhere in Europe. Talk about suicide on steroids.

Immigration spokesman urges teamwork
Northampton County (Pennsylvania) District Attorney John M. Morganelli is a tough law enforcer when it comes to illegal immigration, so you might think he would get cheers from the ICE department for a recent workplace raid he conducted 10/27. Nope, nothing like approval, more like a lecture to a subordinate where ICE spokesman Manny Van Pelt sniffed that Morganelli failed to "co-ordinate" with national officials.
The raid at the Williams Township pallet company arrested 27 men who were charged with identify theft for allegedly using fraudulent Social Security numbers. Van Pelt was miffed that four who were picked up were legal permanent residents. Morganelli responded that ICE has been unhelpful when he approached them in the past.
Bottom line: when it comes to immigration enforcement, no good deed goes unpunished.

Last harvest to herald unique suburb
One aspect to the immigration-fueled population explosion which is not noticed enough is how our farming heritage is being paved over willy nilly to house the newcomer millions. Precious family histories are bulldozed under in order to facilitate growth and progress, which are thought to be entirely positive values today.
Here is the story of the Brandtjen family farm, a beloved local institution in Dakota County Minnesota, which is being turned into a subdivision of 2,100 houses.

The Man behind the Land
A better title for this news article might be "The Puppeteer of the Sierra Club" because of David Gelbaum's strings-attached donations of over $100 million to the organization. Many involved in the grassroots effort to return population sanity to the Sierra Club were suspicious of the mysterious money, believing that the funder might be behind the sudden change in club viewpoint on domestic overpopulation.
But [Gelbaum] said Pope long had known where he stood on the contentious issue. "I did tell Carl Pope in 1994 or 1995 that if they ever came out anti-immigration, they would never get a dollar from me."

Family Ties and the Entanglements of Caste
Indians come to America, a land with no class distinctions, and insist on bringing their racist caste system with them. The New York Times touches on the unpleasant truth only briefly, as it alludes to social boundaries that keep "untouchables" in their place. But there is no mention of the violence regularly inflicted on lowly dalits to this day in India. For a more thorough analysis, see India's Hidden Apartheid.

Skirting Immigration
Why is there so little coverage of the crucial debate between the House and Senate over the much-needed immigration provisions in HR10? This article is a rare exception, describing a 911 family member who has been lobbying Congress.
Also, see Speaker Hastert's opinion piece about the importance of the legislation.

Immigration issue rears its head
Some Republicans in North Carolina are taking on immigration as an issue than can win votes. The state has the country's second-fastest growing Hispanic population, as a result of many thousands of foreigners flooding in for increasingly scarce jobs. This ad is for the Senate seat contest between Republican Richard Burr vs. Clinton pal Erskine Bowles, who favors taxpayer-subsidized tuition for alien students.

Shocking Slay Stats for Women Immigrants
According to a study from the Bureau of Injury Epidemiology of New York City, foreign-born women living there are 87 percent more likely to be murdered by someone they know rather than by a stranger. "Immigration is an extremely stressful event," said Dr. Susan Wilks, who heads the city Health Department. "Relationships change, expectations of gender roles change."
Immigration is stressful indeed. We do foreigners no favor by allowing them to enter this society, which is enormously different from the third world. Painful generation gaps split families when children easily absorb American culture while parents may not be able to speak English. Gang formation is one normal and expected result for disaffected teens who look for a group of shared experience.
America should instead encourage sustainable development abroad, particularly through the proven program of microlending. On a planet of six billion people, America cannot begin to rescue the multitudes of poor through immigration. Every nation must provide basic economic opportunity for its people, which is not an impossible goal with the common sense strategies of microloans.

In Miami, Hispanic majority takes hold
English-speaking Americans are fleeing Miami as it turns completely Latin. Maria Burford is one, because she feels like a foreigner in her own community. Arrogant clerks in stores are irritating: "They come up to me, and when I don't speak Spanish, they give me a little attitude." In Miami, business is done in Spanish, and English is not only not required, it is looked down upon.

Government Moves to Strip Citizenship from Former Holy Land Foundation Board Member
The government is implementing a rarely used federal statute, one utilized in the past to deport Nazis, to repatriate a wealthy Dallas resident, Rasmi Khader Almallah, to his native Palestine. The Holy Land Foundation of Richardson, Texas, was closed by the Justice Department in 2001 for funding terrorists, particularly Hamas.
Reports like this show up in the local press but rarely get national attention. However, when the number and frequency of terror-associated cases is considered, we have to conclude that America has been dangerously infiltrated by murderous enemies.

Public's risk higher from violence-prone smugglers
Five were killed on Saturday (10/16) near Sierra Vista, Arizona, and 15 were critically injured when a truck filled with illegal aliens tried to escape the police, speeding at up to 90 mph. The truck slammed into nine vehicles lined up to make a left turn near Fort Huachuca and the resulting carnage was horrific. Two of those killed were James and Emilia Lee of Huachuca City, a couple in their seventies who had been married only six weeks.
The increasing highway violence near the border is analyzed in Single-vehicle crashes involving illegal immigrants becoming commonplace. The report finds that "six accidents involving illegal immigrants and their smugglers claimed nine lives and caused dozens of injuries in less than one year" in southern Arizona. Some of the victims are illegal aliens but many are innocent bystanders caught in the border meatgrinder.

Iraqi women flee colleges
Threats and actual violence by Islamic thugs have forced women who prefer western dress to burqa imprisonment to defer their studies. One-third of women students have requested postponing their classes until safety can be assured. Islamic extremists have also demanded that classes be gender segregated.

Bay Area air quality is cleanest in 35 years
Good news: improved air due to tough regulations and better technology. Bad news: "the Bay Area's population, driven by a powerful economy and high levels of immigration, has increased nearly 50 percent in the past 30 years, from 4.6 million in 1970 to 6.8 million in 2000." Techno-fixes can only go so far, and simply cannot keep up with a population explosion of this magnitude, particularly since there is no end in sight: government refuses to recognize that unlimited growth cannot continue without stresses and breaks on natural resources and human-built infrastructure.

Islamic Agency Aids Terror
Here's an Islamic "charity" in Missouri being busted for supporting terror. The Islamic American Relief Agency of Columbia was searched by FBI agents Oct. 13, with the usual computers and cardboard boxes of files being removed as evidence. The Treasury Department froze the organization's assets and alleged that it has financially supported bin Laden and other terrorists.
Is there any question that a dangerous fifth column exists in the Muslim immigrant community in the U.S.? For example, a convicted terrorist was released 10/13 in Detroit because one judge didn't like the way the prosecution handled the case. Karim Kabrouti is at least being electronically monitored as a new trial is being planned.

American Taxpayers Funding Health Care in Mexico
It's astonishing that at a time when emergency rooms are closing down in the Los Angeles area (largely because of the growing number of uninsured illegal aliens) the Bush administration is spending serious money to buy medical equipment for hospitals in Mexico. HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson visited Nogales, Mexico, to announce that $350,000 had already been spent, and that a million dollars would be coming to purchase a CT scanner for the emergency room!
Remember that Mexico is rich and could well afford to pay for its own medical equipment. It is an "immensely wealthy nation" according to Mexico expert Prof. George Grayson of William and Mary College. Mexico has the highest GDP in Latin America, yet it "raises less revenue through taxation than nearly any other Latin American country." If Mexico were to tax itself at a more normal rate, it could build infrastructure and provide better medical care. But it doesn't have to, because of sucker Americans who treat Mexico like a poor relation.
Here's contact info for HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson.

Witnessing Genocide in Darfur
Sixty Minutes (10/10/04) went to Chad and Sudan to film the truth about the terrible violence in Darfur. Conclusion: the killing is ethnic cleansing by Sudan's Islamic government to "wipe out all the native Africans in Darfur, essentially to clear the territory for the Arabs." Interestingly, the Diversity Visa program for 2005 is welcoming 1,015 persons from Sudan, so some of these genocidal murderers may be coming to America.

Why al-Qaeda Will Dominate the European Union
Pavel Kohout, an associate of the Center for Economics and Politics in Prague, believes that Europe's cultural passivity and naive ideas about Islam will be its downfall: "Western European politicians... want to believe that there is no clash of civilizations; that terrorism is just a product of misery and lack of education; that the solution lies in a multicultural, tolerant society; and that the stubbornness of the Americans and Israelis is to blame for all the problems." The demographic reality of a rapidly growing Muslim population in places like France, as well as the politics of oil, draw Europe more into the Islamic orbit and away from its own roots of democracy, Christianity and individual rights.

Charities see dollar signs in opposing Arizona Prop 200
How sweet it is for pro-open-borders "charities" to be nailed for their conflict of interest. Of course, those "charities" are mainly churches, and the Catholic Church is the big kahuna in pulling down serious cash from unwilling taxpayers, receiving tens of millions of dollars annually in Arizona alone. No wonder the bishops of Phoenix and Tucson fear the passage of Prop 200 and say that "obeying civil laws may conflict with their gospel mission."
Didn't Jesus say, "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" — namely obey civil law? The government allows churches to be tax exempt with the idea that they would do good works or at least behave themselves, not become masters of extortion in ecclesiastical robes.

Mexico's Other Migrant Wave
Evidently there are jobs Mexicans just won't do. Or at least there are no Mexicans left to do them, since many have left for the greener fields of el Norte. In Zacatecas, fully half of the workforce has gone to the U.S., so the fields there are being picked by Indians from other areas, many of whom cannot even speak Spanish. Growers have had to increase wages to attract workers, who have come for a better life. (Love those market forces!)
But there have been complications. In parts of Zacatecas, the Huichol Indians are said to be engaging in crime, and tensions have grown between locals and newcomers. "They come to work, but they stay and cause problems," remarked a Tlatenango reporter. Does that sound familiar?

Computer disc found in Iraq contained floor plans, other data on schools in six states
Is an American Beslan-style attack being planned by terrorists? That's the fear arising from the materials found in Iraq. Why would anyone across the world care about security plans for U.S. schools in southern California, Michigan, Florida and elsewhere? Authorities urge citizens to be on the lookout for suspicious characters engaged in "static surveillance."

Sentenced to Be Raped
New York Times Columnist Nicholas Kristof examines the story of Mukhtaran Bibi, a Pakistani young woman who was brutally gang raped over a criminal cover-up connected with the rape of her brother. Instead of committing suicide, as her culture required, she testified against her attackers. As a result, some of them are facing execution and she provided a valuable role model for oppressed Pakistani women.

Man sacrifices wife at Kali's altar
Bharat Lal thought that murdering his wife would rid his 19-year-old son Sandeep of an annoying ghost. Lal hacked his wife to death at a temple of Kali and then proceeded to eat the dead woman's tongue. Here's a selection of responses to the crime. "One thinks the 21st century belongs to India."

Iranian hard-liners call for rollback of women's rights (9/2004)
The Iranian parliament rejected proposals to expand the inheritance right of Iranian women and to adopt the U. N. convention that bans discrimination against women. Instead of moving toward gender equality, lawmakers have called for placing more restrictions on women's attire and on social freedoms. More than 60 percent of university students are women, and nearly two-thirds of the population is under 30, so the argument for gender reform is not going away.

As men go north, wives get forgotten
One little noticed problem with illegal immigration is the number of Mexican wives who are financially abandoned when husbands head north for the promised land. Some men remarry in the United States with no divorce — bigamy is still illegal in both nations. The husband of Virginia Bocato de la Pila was particularly rude when he moved back to his home town with the new wife. Apparently there is no legal recourse there for such obvious criminal behavior.

The error of too much tolerance
San Francisco columnist Joan Ryan brought her non-judgmental attitudes with her on a trip to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and was rather surprised at the physical modernity while the lives of women remained mired in the Islamic stone age. She accepted uncritically some politically correct rhetoric from a Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) flack who was an apologist for discrimination against women. (CAIR is an anti-American, pro-terrorist group posing as a civil rights organization — see Anti-CAIR.)
But Ryan at least came to a reasoned conclusion: "We cannot force another country to change its values and customs so they better reflect our own. But we don't have to accept them, either. Some customs and values are not worthy of our tolerance."

Muslims rule major Swedish city
This blog listing contains several translations from Swedish about how bad life has gotten in Malmo in particular. Here's one item: Rapes in Sweden as a whole have increased by 17% just since the beginning of 2003, and have had a dramatic increase during the past decade. Gang rapes, usually involving Muslim immigrant males and native Swedish girls, have become commonplace. Two weeks ago, 5 Kurds brutally raped a 13-year-old Swedish girl.

Sharia 'used in Nigeria politics'
As of September 2004, 12 northern Nigerian states have instituted Sharia law. The group Human Rights Watch has published a report on how abuses have grown under Muslim religious law. This page displays a Nigerian poster which shows in pictures the crimes and corresponding punishments. For example, a woman sitting close to a man on a motorscooter receives a stoning; a theif gets his arm lopped off. For the year 2005, the State Department is welcoming 6,725 Nigerians to immigrate to the United States under the Diversity Visa program.

Contra Costa prepares for rapid growth
Contra Costa County lies on the eastern side of the San Francisco Bay and is mostly suburban bedroom communities with a population of one crowded million people. Next to the totally urban San Francisco Couny, Contra Costa is the most developed in the nine counties of the Bay Area with more than 25 percent developed, compared with 19 percent in Santa Clara County and 20 percent in San Mateo. The Association of Bay Area Governments estimates that an additional quarter million people will live in Contra Costa within 25 years.
