Is the New York Times having a teeny tiny shift in opinion about the wonderfulness of Islamic foreigners? Thursday’s front page included an interesting juxtaposition: the photo shows a protest of the Cologne sex attacks by aliens against European women with a sign reading “Rapefugees Not Welcome” while the caption referred to the “far-right group Legida” sponsoring the demonstration.
The Times better be careful or people will start to think “far-right” is the sensible, non-misogynist position.
The online posting of the article included a video from Reuters with an interesting quote from a greying man named Olaf Spermer who appeared middle class and not an extremist at all:
“Especially what annoyed us in the past weeks and months, was the whole situation regarding foreigners, that how things were handled and not only I, but many people, think that it will all end in a very bad way.”
The newspaper text, however, wrings its liberal hands over self-defense militias and alleged right-wing violence against foreigners. It misses the central issue: when immigration threatens public safety and national security, it is wrong and must stop. ISIS declared its intention to insert jihadists into the illegal alien hordes, so it is naive to think otherwise.
In centuries past, Europe had defenders like Charles Martel who defeated the Muslims at Tours in 732. Today’s political leaders act on their liberal desires about how people should behave rather than the reality in front of them.
ROME — In Finland, militia groups are patrolling small towns housing asylum seekers in the name of protecting white Finnish women. In Germany, far-right protesters rampaged through Leipzig on Monday, vandalizing buildings in an “anti-Islamization” demonstration. In Italy on Tuesday, an anti-immigration regional government approved the text of a law making it difficult to construct new mosques as Muslim refugees are settled in the area.
Across Europe, the migrant crisis that has engulfed the Continent since the summer is provoking new levels of public anxiety after the New Year’s Eve sexual assaults in Cologne, Germany, where witnesses and the police described predatory gangs of mostly foreign men, including some refugees, groping and robbing young women. The Cologne police are also investigating allegations of rape.
While the police say the assaults in Cologne were carried out by hundreds of men, even that is a narrow sliver of the more than one million asylum seekers who entered Europe last year. Still, the anxieties provoked by the Cologne attacks quickly spread as reports emerged of similar New Year’s Eve assaults in other German cities, as well as in Finland and Austria.
While the details in some of those reports are sketchy, and none approach what happened in Cologne, they have touched an exceptionally raw nerve as European societies face the challenge of integrating and acculturating the asylum seekers, most of them Muslims, and a majority of those single men. Responding to the Cologne New Years attacks, sensible women are reacting to the New Normal of greatly reduced public safety by purchasing pepper spray — lots of it. An RT video report notes, “One shop in the city of Cologne says it has completely sold out of pepper spray and it is mostly women who are buying it.” Too bad the segment had to end up by showing a Syrian alien whining about the Cologne attacks that “in Syria I don’t know people who could commit anything like that” — while there are clearly many who can.
Geert Wilders, the Dutch member of Parliament and leader of the Freedom Party, has some experience with defense against Islamic violence, having been on the hit list of jihadists since he became outspoken about the danger of Muslim immigration.
Below, Wilders posed with a local SWAT team when he spoke at the Mohammed cartoon contest in Garland, Texas. After Wilders left, the free speech event was attacked by two armed jihadists who were taken out by a Garland police officer with his service revolver.
Along with other words of the Islamist vocabulary we never wanted to learn, along with jihad and hijra, we must now add Taharrush, meaning group sexual assault condoned by allah. Geert Wilders explains the ugly details in a recent opinion piece:
“Cultural enrichment” has brought us a new word: Taharrush. Remember it well, because we are going to have to deal with it a lot. Taharrush is the Arabic word for the phenomenon whereby women are encircled by groups of men and sexually harassed, assaulted, groped, raped. After the Cologne taharrush on New Year’s Eve, many German women bought pepper spray. Who can blame them?
A culture that has a specific word for sexual assaults of women by groups of men is a danger to all women. The existence of the word indicates that the phenomenon is widespread. Frau Merkel, Prime Minister Rutte and all the other open-door politicians could and should have known this.
The Islamic world is steeped in misogyny. The Koran explicitly states that a woman is worth only half a man (Suras 2: 228, 2: 282, 4:11), that women are unclean (5:6), and that a man can have sex with his wife whenever he wants (24:31). The Koran even says that men are allowed to have sex slaves (4:24), and that they have the right to rape women whom they have captured (24:31).
The hadiths, the descriptions of the life of Muhammad, the ideal human being whose example all the Islamic faithful must follow, confirm that women are sex objects, that they are inferior beings like dogs and donkeys, and that there is nothing wrong with sexual slavery and raping female prisoners.
Taharrush is quite common in Islamic countries. Women are frequently surrounded by men and subsequently abused. The Egyptian website Jadaliyya points out that it also happens to veiled women. Women are victims simply because they are women and not because they have provoked the men by their conduct or “provocative” clothing. It can happen in the streets, public transport, supermarkets, or during protest demonstrations.
In 2011, the American television journalist Lara Logan had her clothes ripped off and “was raped with the hands” by a group of 200 men on Tahrir Square in Cairo. Two years later, a young Dutch woman became a taharrush victim at the same square. Now, along with the flow of migrants from the Islamic world, the phenomenon also reached Europe. The elite tried to keep it hidden from the people, but they cannot do so anymore. Continue reading this article
The Washington Post brings us a man-bites-dog story about “refugees” who return to their homes in the Middle East because Europe made it too hard to get free stuff. The Post’s main subject, 25-year-old Iraqi Faisal Uday Faisal, had job skills that included making tea and sweeping in a government office, so he was not a hot prospect for European employers. His dreams of a “beautiful life” were crushed by reality, such as the free food being inadequate to his high standards.
Legal adult Faisal Faisal, below, missed Mom’s home cooking back in Iraq.
Was this article supposed to be a distraction from the one million plus illegal aliens arriving in Europe in 2015? — as in See, they’re not all staying? The piece did mention the tiny numbers of actual returners — 35,000 out of more than a million, although that fact was buried in a middle paragraph.
At least Faisal Faisal was a decent example of avaricious Middle Easterners looking for a deluxe handout in Europe, so perhaps attentive readers would understand that some (many!) of the swarming newbies are economic opportunists rather than actual war refugees (although there are some of those).
BAGHDAD — At 25, Faisal Uday Faisal had high expectations when he packed his bags for Europe in September.
After quitting his job making tea and cleaning for the Ministry of Education in Baghdad, he set off to Turkey to join more than a million refugees and migrants who have made their way to the continent in the past year.
“My dream since I was a child was to go to Europe,” he said. “I was imagining a beautiful life, a secure life, with an apartment and a salary.”
But despite a grueling month-long journey to Sweden, he came back home – one of a surging number of returnees, Iraqi and international authorities say. The International Organization for Migration says it helped 779 Iraqis come back from Europe voluntarily in November, more than double the previous month, and those figures don’t include people such as Faisal, who returned on his own.
Some have chosen to leave because they were confused about the asylum process, disillusioned with the lack of opportunities or homesick, while others were forced to go when their asylum claims were rejected.
“It was a boring life there, their food even a cat wouldn’t eat it,” Faisal said of his two months in an asylum center near the Swedish city of Malmo. “I went to Europe and discovered Europe is just an idea. Really, it’s just like Bab al-Sharji,” he said, referring to a Baghdad market neighborhood.
While some who come back of their own volition may not have been fleeing danger in the first place, aid agencies warn that legitimate asylum seekers are also being discouraged as Europe becomes less welcoming to newcomers and tries to tighten its borders. Finland and Belgium are among the countries that have warned arrivals from Baghdad that they won’t automatically receive asylum.
Faisal concedes that he left for economic reasons, the kind of asylum applicant European authorities are trying to sift out from those fleeing violence. He said he decided to “arrange a story” about being threatened by Iraqi militias. “If I was in danger, I wouldn’t have come back,” he said. Continue reading this article
Now however, Sweden’s good intentions have been defeated by the burden of Muslim diversity. Too much violence, too much rape and too much disorder have proved daunting.
Of course, even without the cultural difficulties that hostile Muslims bring, the logistics of settling 200,000 people are simply unworkable in terms of providing social services, plus the project has been very expensive.
The PBS Newshour presented a sanitized version of Sweden’s trouble with diversity, although the segment did allow that the “huge refugee influx is endangering law and order and the country’s internal security.”
GWEN IFILL: After declaring that its welfare system was collapsing under the strain of up to 200,000 refugees, Sweden today became the latest European country to impose border controls. The nation has accepted more refugees per capita than any other country on the continent. But its appeals to other European nations to share the burden have been largely ignored.
Special correspondent Malcolm Brabant reports.
MALCOLM BRABANT: Lunchtime today at Hyllie, the first station in Sweden across the bridge from Denmark, and police begin border controls over concerns that the huge refugee influx is endangering law and order and the country’s internal security. Continue reading this article
Dale Hurd has done another of his European reports where he finds interesting people to interview. From the latest, I learned that Muslim gangs in Malmo, Sweden, chuck hand grenades at rivals during their rumbles, a new diversity fact.
The failures of multicultural immigration keep piling up, but Europeans are undaunted, or at least their ruling elites are determined to stay the course. Pro-sovereignty parties are becoming more popular particularly in smaller nations, but the more powerful countries like Germany and France still favor the open borders model of the European Union.
LONDON — It is a staggering humanitarian crisis: the largest refugee influx since World War II. More than 300,000 Africans and Asians have crossed Europe’s border this year, double last year’s pace. Hundreds more have died trying in just the past few weeks.
The other side of this tragedy is how it will change Europe. Non-Western migrants had already been flooding into Europe for decades. Leaders refused to stop it for many reasons. Some saw migrants as cheap labor. Others were afraid of being branded racists for opposing it.
But long before this present crisis, experts were asking if Europe would still be Europe if immigrants someday outnumbered natives.
The Great Replacement
“It’s increasingly clear in Western European countries that as populations reach a tipping point, that there are increasing groups of people,” George Igler, with London’s Discourse Institute, told CBN News.
“If the political establishment continues to get its way, in five, in 10, in 15 years, how many Germans are going to be left in Germany?” he asked. “How many French people are going to be left in France? How many English people are going to be left in England?”
French writer Renaud Camus calls the influx “the great replacement” and says it is the biggest thing to happen to France since the 15th century.
“Because what is happening, the population is changing,” he explained. “Can France be the same with a different people? And obviously, the answer is no.” Continue reading this article
[. . . .] Massive immigration has made Malmö today one quarter Muslim, and stands to transform it into a Muslim majority city within just a few decades. One of the most popular baby names is not Sven, but Mohammed. Pork has been taken off some school menus. Want to learn to drive? You can attend Malmö’s own “Jihad Driving School.”
But despite Malmö’s usually placid appearance, this experiment in multiculturalism has not gone well. In the Rosengaard section of Malmö, a housing project made up primarily of immigrants, fire and emergency workers will no longer enter without police protection.
Unemployment in Rosengaard is reported to be 70 percent. An immigrant-fueled crime wave affects one of every three Malmö families each year. The number of rapes has tripled in 20 years. [. . .]
Here’s the video version of the report, which stands up well for being six years old:
Today’s report from The Local is too politically correct to name the source of the violence in the school, but it can be safely assumed to be the Muslim students.
Muslim immigration is a bad mistake for any first world nation. America should end it immediately.
A secondary school in Malmö has been closed after the teachers’ union declared that it is too dangerous a place for students and teachers to attend due to widespread violence and criminality.
Violence, threats and visits from adult criminals eventually became too much for the teachers’ unions at Varner Rydén School in the Malmö suburb of Rosengård, whose safety officers have now closed the premises.
“Violence, threats and verbal abuse. There has also been trouble with students from other schools,” said Hans Nilsson at the City of Malmö to news agency TT.
The responsibility now lies with the teachers’ employer, the City of Malmö, as the school closure can only be waived by the Swedish Work Environment Authority (Arbetsmiljöverket).
The students at the school have been notified of the closure. But it is not yet clear where they will be placed.
“Fighting among the students means that security can’t be guaranteed,” said Catharina Niwhede at the National Union of Teachers in Malmö to the local Sydsvenskan daily. Continue reading this article
A couple years ago, Sweden’s liberal political elites went completely bonkers by offering their nation as a home for unlimited Syrian refugees at a time when two million had been driven out by the Islamic civil war. There’s no way that one-tenth that number of Muslim Middle Easterners could be successfully settled in Sweden (population 9.6 million), which still has a semblance of European culture even though Swedo-elites worship diversity with a scary intensity.
But objections from concerned Swedes about the unraveling of their society have only influenced the stubborn left government to ratchet up diversity such that there is no escape from it: a law is being written that would spread refugees all over the country. No town would be safe from immigrants. No Swede would be permitted to live in a traditional manner, away from Muslim diversity.
Resistance is futile! All will be assimilated into the perfect utopian Diversistan!
UPDATED: Sweden’s integration minister Ylva Johansson is preparing a new law that would force all regions to take in asylum seekers. Meanwhile, opposition leader Anna Kinberg Batra has announced plans to strengthen income requirements for immigrants.
While Sweden has made global headlines for taking in more refugees per capita than any other EU nation, these immigrants are largely clustered on the outskirts of major cities in the south, with some parts of the country currently taking in just a handful of newcomers.
Sweden’s Social Democrat integration minister Ylva Johansson has announced that she is drafting a new law designed to make sure all regions take in asylum seekers and offer help with jobs and housing.
“The distribution is unreasonable. We need to make changes in the law for everyone to take responsibility,” she told Swedish newspaper Sydsvenskan on Thursday. Continue reading this article
What kind of faith has to insist on a daily basis that it is a “Religion of Peace”?
One that isn’t, perhaps?
Paul Weston is a defender of western civilization, not an easy thing in Islam-endangered Great Britain these days. He is also the Chair of Liberty GB and occasionally uses Youtube to share his thoughts about politics in the face of unfriendly diversity.
Weston’s latest effort concerns the claim of Islam to be peaceful, and he criticizes that idea (not hard, really) plus a challenge to Prime Minister David Cameron to act honestly regarding the security threats in today’s Britain because of the enemy inside the gates.
How can you tell when a civilisation is in danger of collapse? That’s easy, it’s when every leader of every country that make up Western civilisation no longer accept reality and deal only in lies and cowardice when presented with genuine danger. In the midst of worldwide Islamic violence, war, terror, torture and rape we are told Islam is a religion of peace over and over again, which reminds me of George Orwell’s dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four … which was supposed to be a warning rather than a political manual on how to run a country.
Nineteen Eighty-Four revolved around an imaginary England run under socialism. There were four main governmental ministries which exerted total control over the population: the Ministry of Love, which housed torture room 101 within a windowless building surrounded by machine-gun posts and truncheon wielding secret policemen; the Ministry of Plenty, which dealt with near-starvation; the Ministry of Truth, which dealt in rewriting history via lies and propaganda; and the Ministry of Peace which dealt in perpetual war with Oceania and Eurasia.
David Cameron and other Western leaders don’t appear to have read it. Every time I hear them say Islam is a religion of peace I am constantly reminded of Orwell’s doublethink and newspeak 1984. It is a sign of total cowardice to state Islam is peaceful when it is in fact an ideology of supremacism and war. Islam is the Koran, the Koran is Mohammed and Mohammed was a warlord and a murderer.
Although Mecca today is the international shrine to Mohammed, he first had to defeat the Meccans when they laid siege to his exiled home in Medina. Mohammed won the battle and was then involved in the execution by beheading of 700 Jewish male members of Medina’s Qurayza tribe. The women and children were taken as slaves and sex slaves. Back to the video: it is titled, “Welcome to Sweden, or Sweden Committing Suicide.” It’s one way to answer the nation’s liberal leaders who just gave away everything to a pack of foreigners from an unfriendly culture. Isn’t that act normally considered treason?
On Tuesday, I blogged about the explosive numbers of Syrian refugees — now two million — after several years of war but before General Obama’s military strikes. Surely more chaos in the region will cause even more people to flee the danger, and become refugees. One might reasonably fear an Obama decision to admit kazillions of Muslim Syrians to this country to demonstrate his enormous benevolence to the diverse downtrodden of the world.
But the offer from Sweden for resettlement of any and all Syrian refugees is crazy-generous.
Sweden’s 2012 census counted 9,555,893 residents of the nation. An influx of a million Syrian refugees (only half of the number reported) would overwhelm Swedish society with an alien, unfriendly culture.
Sweden has become the first European Union country to announce it will give asylum to all Syrian refugees who apply. ”All Syrian asylum seekers who apply for asylum in Sweden will get it,” Annie Hoernblad, the spokeswoman for Sweden’s migration agency, told AFP.
“The agency made this decision now because it believes the violence in Syria will not end in the near future.”
The Dutch freedom-fighter Geert Wilders (pictured) visited southern California last weekend to deliver a speech at an event titled “Europe’s Last Stand?”
Wilders analyzed the history and wrong ideas leading to the current liberal dislike of national sovereignty among European liberals, namely their belief that Nazi fascism was caused by bad patriotism.
As it happens, liberals believe that if they can just find the perfect construct of government, then utopia will result, so they keep plugging away, trying to find the secret recipe. California liberals, for example, have led the charge for diversity being the highest good, which if somehow turned into a principle of governance, then everyone can live happily in a multicultural Eden.
The California experiment has not been encouraging, from the liberal viewpoint, if honest. The Golden State gets less like paradise and more like Babel every year, with its growing population of diverse residents.
The unaccountable European Union is the real problem with government in Europe, Wilders believes, which doesn’t allow the Netherlands to protect itself by keeping out hostile Muslim immigrants. Disconnecting from the giant EU PC nanny state would allow more freedom of the people.
At a time when Washington’s super-sized digital snoopocracy feels threatening to Americans, we should all pay attention to Geert Wilders’ wise observations about patriotism and the nation-state.
The Resurgence of National Pride and the Future of Europe, Speech of Geert Wilders, Los Angeles, June 9, 2013
Dear friends, thank you for inviting me to Los Angeles. I always like coming to the United States. There are many things that I admire Americans for. One of them is that they are unashamedly patriotic.
The American Freedom Association [actually, the American Freedom Alliance: BW] has asked me to speak to you about the future of Europe.
Europe is in a terrible state. Bit by bit, European countries are losing their national sovereignty. The economy is in shambles. Islamic immigrants riot and terrorize the many locals. And when people’s throats are slit in the streets, while the murderers shout “Allahu Akbar,” the authorities appease the killers and declare that Islam has nothing to do with it.
Europeans feel that the gap between them en those who rule them is growing. Many no longer feel represented by their politicians. There is a complete disconnect between the people that truly rule Europe and the people that live in it.
The blame lies to a large extent with the European Union and the weak leadership within the European countries which have signed away their national sovereignty. The EU cannot be compared to the United States. Europe is a continent of many different nations with their own identities, traditions and languages. The EU is a supranational organization, but its leaders aim to turn it into a state. To this end they are destroying the wealth, identity and freedoms of the existing nation-states of Europe.
Before I elaborate, let us take a closer look at the terrible mistake that Europe made.
Following the Second World War, Europe’s leaders mistakenly thought that patriotism was the cause of the war.
All over Europe, not just in Germany, but everywhere, they equated the defense of national identity with extremism.
Politicians told the electorate that the nation state was dangerous.
On the rooftops of Europe’s parliaments and official buildings, they flew the EU flag next to the national flag, as if the nation is nothing but a province of a Pan-European empire.
On the number plates of European cars, they put the EU flag instead of the national flag, thereby forcing people to drive around with the symbol of their subjection.
They signed away their national interests for the goal of so-called Europeanization.
Such policies could never have been possible if the ruling elite had not fallen for the ideology of cultural and moral relativism. Patriotism, which is a virtue, came to be seen as a vice.
Today, the citizens of Europe are reaping the bitter harvest of this arrogance, this refusal to stand by the ancient nations of Europe, the mothers of modern democracy, the guardians of our liberty.
The EU stands for everything that is wrong in Europe.
It is a gigantic undemocratic transnational monster.
It issues legislation permeated with cultural relativism.
It meddles in the everyday lives of millions of people.
It has opened Europe’s borders to uncontrolled mass immigration, mostly from Islamic countries. And it has deprived Europe’s parliaments of a huge amount of their legislative powers. Continue reading this article
This refugee story is quite the opposite of what one usually sees. Instead of going straight to the welfare office for an array of free stuff, Somali woman Amun Abdullahi attempted to contribute to Swedish society by reporting as a journalist about the jihadist group Al-Shebaab, an al Qaeda spinoff, operating in a Swedish city.
Amun was ostracized and threatened by other Somalis residing in Sweden for blowing the whistle on their jihadist activities. But she was also criticized by Swedish scribblers for discussing an unpleasant topic that blasphemes the belief that diversity is the highest good. As a result, she has given up on the West and is going back to live in Mogadishu and work as a teacher.
It’s a shame that Swedish society couldn’t embrace a courageous woman willing to tell the truth about the largely hostile Muslim tribe which Sweden continues to import.
Amun is a journalist, and the first thing you notice is
that she has more passion for journalism than most people do.
Let’s say that if all the jobs in the world were a person, then the journalist would be the head
and all the other jobs would be the different parts of the body.
Now that you have spoken so warmly about journalism,
I have to assume that you would like to work as a journalist in Sweden?
Never… I wouldn’t do that.
Amun came as a refugee in 1991, first arriving in Umeå,
which she describes as one of the most beautiful cities on earth.
Later on she moved to Rinkeby near Stockholm.
She had made the whole transition from refugee to reporter on Swedish Radio.
And her knowledge and contacts as a Somali led her onto a story which changed her life.
One morning she recognised a young Somali,
who had changed character after studying religious scripture.
That was the beginning of an investigative report,
in which she revealed how a leader of am after-school activity center lured youths into Al-Shabab
“It’s half past five, you are listening to Ekot.
Many of the young men from Sweden recruited by the Islamist rebel group Al-Shabab
have come from an after-school activity center in Rinkeby.”
After the report was aired, Amun received numerous threats.
And one night her car was torched on the street.
But she had prepared herself for the threats and social ostracism.
But she was not prepared for what followed later on.
A few months later criticisms emerged from an entirely different front.
From her own colleagues on one of Sweden’s most influential political radio shows, “Konflikt”
Here Ekot’s and thereby Amun’s research was dismissed as mere “hearsay” and “rumors”.
Behind it stood Randi Mossige-Norheim, who has been awarded
the Swedish “Grand Journalism Award” among many others
It’s simply normal to ask “did it really happen?”
I don’t think we made a claim of truth. And I could say that about many things.
We did not say that anything was correct or incorrect.
-You didn’t claim anything was correct or incorrect?
No, we didn’t say anything was correct or incorrect.
But isn’t it your job to say, that which is correct?
But what I mean is, we don’t judge anybody. We don’t judge anybody. Continue reading this article
