Obama’s illegal alien Uncle Onyango appeared in court on Tuesday and got the expected non-penalty non-deportation that lawbreaking relatives of the President have come to regard as their due. (Illegal alien Aunt Zeituni lives comfortably as a welfare case in Boston, where she has complained about the quality of her free accommodations and demanded citizenship.)
The main action taken by the judge was to order Onyango Obama to hand over his drivers license to authorities for a mere 45 days, pictured below. And Uncle O. complained about that little inconvenience.
One tiny bit of justice was Onyango’s admitting to the prosecution’s case that he was driving drunk. He had tried to blame to arresting officer as somehow being unfit. What is it about the Obama family that they all seem incapable of taking responsibility?
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts drunken driving charge against President Barack Obama’s uncle will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for a year, officials said Tuesday.
Onyango Obama, 67, admitted to sufficient facts at a hastily scheduled hearing Tuesday. That means he didn’t plead guilty but acknowledged Massachusetts prosecutors had enough evidence to convict him. A judge continued the case for one year without a finding, meaning that if he does not get arrested during that time, the charge will be dismissed. A judge also ordered him to attend a driver alcohol education program.
Onyango Obama is the half brother of the president’s late father. He was arrested in Framingham in August after a police officer said he made a rolling stop at a stop sign and nearly caused the officer’s cruiser to crash into Obama’s sport utility vehicle. Police said Obama registered 0.14 on a blood-alcohol test, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08.
On Tuesday, the judge ordered him to give up his driver’s license for 45 days. But his lawyer said he will apply for a hardship license to allow him to drive to and from his job as the manager of a liquor store in Framingham. Two other traffic violations were dismissed.
“He felt it was in his best interest to put this behind him,” said his attorney, P. Scott Bratton. “He wants to return to his normal, quiet existence in society.”
Obama, who is from Kenya, is also appealing a deportation order that dates to 1992, when he failed to renew his application to remain in the U.S. Bratton called it a technical error. He said Obama moved here as a teenager in the early 1960s to live with a host family and attend school. Continue reading this article
According to Human Events, Senator Charles Grassley got an amendment passed in the Judiciary Committee that would make “habitual” drunk driving — meaning three arrests — cause for deportation.
Say, what’s wrong with one DUI being the deportation marker? The Grassley change would not have saved Sister Denise Mosier from drunk Bolivian Carlos Montano, who had two previous DUI arrests before the third one which killed the Virginia nun.
The Grassley amendment would not have saved young Matthew Denice (pictured) from being dragged to death by a drunk illegal alien from Ecuador. Nicolas Guaman had several previous arrests, including the assault of a police officer, but there were no earlier DUIs, and he was not deported.
A better idea would be the Scott Gardner Act first introduced by Rep Sue Myrick (R-NC) in 2005: the upshot of which is “You’re drunk, you’re driving, you’re illegal, you’re deported, period.”
For some reason, the Human Events report emphasized Obama’s illegal alien Uncle Omar. At least he didn’t kill anyone, unlike many other drunk-driving illegal aliens; you can say that in his favor.
America’s favorite drunk-driving illegal alien uncle could be on his way home if he continues his drunk driving ways. At its Feb. 2 meeting, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted 18-0 to pass an amendment by Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R.-Iowa), which would change current statutes to make habitual drunk driving cause for deportation, but Democrats voted to strike language that would have made the provision retroactive. Habitual drunk driving is defined as having three DUI convictions. If it was retroactive, it would mean bittersweet homecomings for many out-of-status visitors to our shores.
It would also mean a difficult situation for “sanctuary” cities and towns that do not report illegal aliens they encounter to federal authorities. If each new drunk driving conviction equals one third of a guaranteed deportation, immigration law nullifiers may start charging drunk driving illegals with something else. One symptom of media that are hopelessly enamoured with Barack Obama shows up when they refer to his drunk-driving illegal alien uncle Omar (pictured) as the halfuncle, an expression which is new to me. (See article following.) Perhaps that is helpful way to sort things out in Obama’s polygamous family, which can get complicated very quickly. Uncle Omar is the half brother of the President’s father.
Defense attorneys digging for something to latch onto in a Framingham cop’s driving past are being bashed by the police brotherhood who argue the bust of President Obama’s half-uncle on a drunken-driving charge is the issue, not the officer’s history behind the wheel.
The Framingham cop who arrested Onyango Obama has about a dozen on-duty accidents — mostly minor — to his name, according to records requested by defense attorneys and obtained by the Herald yesterday.
But the paperwork on patrolman Val Krishtal shows none of the dirt defense attorneys said they had hoped to dig up, and cops around the state are saying Obama’s legal team is barking up the wrong tree in its attempts to strike the Aug. 24 traffic stop by painting Krishtal as out of line.
“It’s sort of discouraging” said James Machado, a Fall River police sergeant and executive director of the Massachusetts Police Association. “I understand defense attorneys taking tacks and questioning police officers’ integrity, but to bring someone else’s record out there? What influence would that have on him doing his job? If you have motor vehicle violations, you can’t give out citations?”
Obama’s lawyers, P. Scott Bratton and William L. Harvey III, requested the records after learning Krishtal had totaled his cruiser in November, smashing into a stone wall en route to a report of shots being fired. They say the patrolman may have been driving too fast just before the Obama stop, in which the president’s uncle turned into traffic, cut the officer off and forced him to slam on his brakes. Deport. It’s my favorite verb (next to self-deport, of course).
So it’s a fine thing to hear a major Presidential candidate say that a public lawbreaker with powerful connections should be sent home. That’s what happened on a Wednesday radio interview in Boston with Mitt Romney. The former Governor opined that Obama’s illegal alien drunk-driving uncle Onyango Obama (pictured below) should be deported.
Hey, don’t forget Obama’s Aunt Zeituni, the illegal alien who is living off the taxpayer in public housing. You would think her millionaire nephew in the White House could pay for her upkeep.
Presidential candidate Mitt Romney told a Boston talk radio host on Wednesday that he supports the deportation of President Obama’s Kenyan-born uncle who was arrested this fall on drunken driving charges in Massachusetts.
When asked by Boston radio personality Howie Carr whether the president’s relative, Onyango Obama, should be deported, Romney said, “the answer is ‘yes.’”
“Well, if the laws of the United States say he should be deported, and I presume they do, then of course we should follow those laws,” Romney said. “And the answer is ‘yes.’”
When Carr brought up Onyango Obama case, Romney first sought clarification: “Who is Uncle Omar, Howie?” the former Massachusetts governor asked the radio host.
Carr explained that the uncle, nicknamed “Omar,” was recently arrested in Framingham, Mass.
“Now he’s claiming he’s got a Social Security number and drivers’ license and no one knows how he got them,” Carr told Romney, “but they’re apparently legit even though he’s in the country illegally.” (Onyango Obama had reportedly defied a 1992 deportation order.)
“Uncle Omar,” who is the half-brother of the president’s father, was arrested on Aug. 24 for driving under the influence, failing to yield and negligent operation of a vehicle. At the police station, he told an officer, “I think I will call the White House,” according to a police report. Continue reading this article
President Barak Hussein Obama’s illegal alien uncle Onyango from Kenya, dressed up like a respectable citizen (pictured at right), appeared briefly in court on Thursday, stemming from a drunk-driving arrest August 24.
“He wasn’t committing any motor vehicle violations at the time. That’s our position,” defense attorney P. Scott Bratton said.
Right, he has merely nabbed in the act of dangerous drunk driving with a blood alcohol lever of .14 percent, nearly twice legal limit, by police. Apparently when the perp is related to the President, counsel can say the accused is a unicorn from Mars and the judge will not argue.
Perhaps Uncle Obongo will become the new diverse face of the Obama administrative amnesty. After all, the uncle didn’t kill anyone on his drunk-driving escapade, unlike so many others. And he is gainfully employed (against the law) back at his old liquor store gig.
The actual court time was very brief, just a minute or so, and the next courtroom pretense of legal process was scheduled for January 12.
FRAMINGHAM — The lawyer for President Barack Obama’s uncle told a judge today he will challenge the legality of his client’s traffic stop.
Onyango Obama, 67, was arrested on Aug. 24 by Framingham Police after they say he nearly struck a cruiser while driving on Waverly Street.
Obama’s lawyer, P. Scott Bratton told Framingham District Court Judge Robert Greco that he will file a motion to suppress challenging the legality of the police pulling Obama over.
The motion to suppress hearing is scheduled for Jan. 12. The motion must be filed two weeks prior to the hearing.
After the hearing, Bratton refused to comment on what the motion will be based on. He also refused to say if Obama has been in touch with the president, or if his immigration case has been resolved.
Most Washington Republicans have been curiously silent about immigration enforcement since returning from their August recess, during which the President enacted his executive amnesty.
Not so with dependable sovereignty defender, Rep. Steve King (R-IA). He wants a Congressional hearing to question Obama’s drunk-driving illegal alien Uncle Omar. Rep. King also thinks the House must oppose the President’s usurpation of Congressional authority to amnesty foreign lawbreakers which ignored years of rejected legislation.
As another of President Obama’s illegal alien relatives gets preferential treatment, King renews call for Congressional hearings
Washington, D.C.- Congressman Steve King (R-IA) today released the following statement renewing his calls for Congressional hearings into President Obama’s recently announced program that grants Executive Amnesty to illegal aliens. King’s statement is issued in the wake of media reports that President Obama’s drunken, illegal alien uncle, Omar Onyango Obama, has been released from the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Prior to his release, “Uncle Omar” Obama was being held subject to a 1992 deportation order, which was uncovered following “Uncle Omar’s” recent arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving to endanger, and failing to use a turn signal. According to the Boston Globe, Federal immigration officials are only willing to confirm that Obama is “not in custody”, and they will not reveal whether he was released on bond, whether they are aware of his whereabouts, or whether they are still seeking his deportation.
“President Obama’s Uncle, Uncle Omar, has been picked up for drunken driving with almost twice the blood alcohol level that is allowable by law in Massachusetts. It’ll be the third time that he’s been interdicted with regard to being an illegal immigrant. He’s twice before been adjudicated for deportation, this time Immigrations and Customs Enforcement just released him, after they had him in custody, as if he’s not going to be a danger to our society.”
“The special privileges for the president’s family who are illegal immigrants, this is the second one. His Aunt Zeituni was also picked up as an illegal immigrant and finally granted an asylum by ICE, by the Department of Homeland Security. We need to have Congressional hearings into favorite treatment of the White House. This executive amnesty that the President has ordered, that they’re not going to enforce immigration law, and who pops up first? Drunken Uncle Omar. I want to subpoena drunken Uncle Omar to come into the House Judiciary Committee along with his attorney, who’s the same attorney that President Obama’s Aunt Zeituni had that got her asylum.”
“We must enforce our immigration laws and we must enforce those immigration laws equally across all society. Justice has got to be blind, it can’t play favorites, and I want to have hearings in the House Judiciary Committee over drunken Uncle Omar.”
On August 29, Congressman King suggested that drunken “Uncle Omar” Obama could be the first beneficiary of the President’s new Executive Amnesty for Illegal Aliens program. With today’s revelations, it appears that Congressman King’s suspicions were correct, and that the Obama administration may have used the new rules to grant amnesty to the President’s uncle.
It is also worth noting that this is not the first time an illegal alien relative of President Obama has appeared to benefit from preferential treatment. Last year, President Obama’s illegal alien aunt, Zeituni Onyango, had a deportation order overturned despite the fact that her previous request for asylum, made prior to her nephew becoming President, had already been rejected.
Oh, look. The President’s drunk-driving illegal alien uncle, Oyango Obama, has been released from jail, with no forwarding address for the public. What a surprise. Out of sight, out of mind, the suits must think.
White House press secretary Jay Carney promised the mysterious relative’s situation would be “handled like any other immigration case” so Oyongo-gate may be just another marker of Obama administration non-enforcement.
At least Uncle Omar didn’t kill anyone, as so many other foreigners have in our country.
Another item of interest is that Uncle Omar came as a college student, because Washington elites think education is a cheap way to teach foreigners to like America (e.g. 690,923 studied during the 2009/10 academic year). The problem is how frequently the auslanders like America too much and never leave.
US officials refused to disclose any other information about Onyango Obama, who remained in the United States undetected until Framingham police arrested him Aug. 24 on drunken driving and other charges.
Yesterday, federal immigration officials refused to say whether the 67-year-old Framingham resident posted bond, whether they are keeping track of his whereabouts, or even whether they are still seeking his deportation, raising questions about public accountability in the case.
The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement website confirmed Obama’s release by listing him as “not in custody.”
Although the website confirmed it, Brian P. Hale, an agency spokesman, said he would not comment on the case because privacy laws and the agency’s policies prohibit it. He said the database is accurate, however.
As a result of the immigration agency’s refusal to discuss the case, it is unclear what happened to Obama after he left the Plymouth County House of Correction – or whether he could be returned to jail.
An official at the Plymouth County House of Correction who would not give his name said yesterday afternoon that Obama was no longer in custody. He had been taken to Burlington, where US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has offices, he said.
In Framingham, the people who shared a modest frame house with Obama on a residential street said they did not know where he was. A co-worker at Conti Liquors, where Obama worked, said they had not heard of his release.
His Cleveland lawyers, Margaret Wong and Scott Bratton, were unavailable for comment, and an assistant said they had not been notified that he was released.
Onyango Obama was the half-brother of the president’s late father. At the time of his arrest, Obama allegedly told Framingham police, “I think I will call the White House” to arrange bail.
But last week the White House press secretary, Jay Carney, said the president did not expect his uncle to receive special treatment.
Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, which favors tougher limits on immigration, said the immigration agency should be more transparent, especially in a case involving a relative of the president. She said the public deserves to know the circumstances of Obama’s release, since he violated a deportation order and is accused of drunken driving. In a criminal court, she said, that would be public information.
Obama pleaded not guilty in Framingham District Court to charges of drunken driving, negligent operation, and failing to yield.
“This whole nonsense about privacy is a policy,” Vaughan said. “It’s not the law. It’s a choice that [the immigration agency] is making. I think it’s very cowardly on [the agency's] part, to be honest. Their behavior shows that they don’t want to be accountable to anybody.” Continue reading this article
It’s been a few days since President Obama’s illegal alien uncle was arrested for drunk driving in Massachusetts. Since then, information about the man has been burbling out.
Uncle Omar, aka Onyango Obama, aka the brother of illegal alien welfare moocher Aunt Zeituni, resides in a pleasant-looking house in Framingham, where he was known to host backyard barbecues. He recently worked at a liquor store, where he got in trouble for selling alcohol to minors, but was not deported.
Omar’s comfy lifestyle makes it hard not to notice how easy being an illegal alien in America is these days. It’s amazing anyone bothers with the troublesome legal immigration process, given the time and money involved.
Interestingly, Uncle Omar was ordered repatriated to Kenya in 1992 but somehow the feds never got around to enforcing the deportation order, even though he didn’t appear hard to find, since he had a home, a car and a job.
Inquiring minds want to know more about how Uncle Omar got a Social Security number, which helped him get a Massachusetts DL a couple decades back.
The CNN report below has some fascinating details, including a helpful diagram of the Obama polygamous family tree, which may require a second viewing. The reporter chose his words carefully and did not use the word polygamy however, which would have reminded viewers that the President is part of a curiously diverse African family. Additionally, legal talking head Toobin says that drunk driving is not serious enough to get Uncle Omar deported — that’s the elite view from the back of a limo where occupants are protected from drunk-driving illegal aliens.
President Barack Obama’s uncle, an illegal immigrant charged with drunken driving last week, was ordered by an immigration judge to leave the country almost two decades ago, a federal official said Wednesday.
The official said a deportation order was issued against Onyango Obama in 1992. The official spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to release details on the case.
Obama, who’s from Kenya, is the half-brother of the president’s late father. He has pleaded not guilty to operating under the influence of alcohol and is being held on an immigration detainer.
An immigration detainer, used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to identify people in jail or prison who could be deported, is a request to another law enforcement agency to notify ICE before releasing the person from custody so ICE can arrange to take over custody.
Obama’s immigration attorney, Margaret Wong, of Cleveland, declined to comment on his case or on how long he has been living in the U.S. illegally.
The White House also has declined to comment.
Obama, 67, was arrested last week in Framingham, where he has lived for years, about 20 miles west of Boston. He had made a rolling stop at a stop sign and nearly caused a police cruiser to strike his sport utility vehicle, police said. After being booked at a police station, he was asked whether he wanted to make a telephone call to arrange for bail, they said.
“I think I will call the White House,” he said, according to a report written by Framingham police. Continue reading this article
