Funny how the Obama bunch is fine with importing tens of millions of lawbreaking foreigners from criminal cultures (like Mexico) but will not accept a German homeschool family who face punishment at home for keeping the kids out of state school. Perhaps if the Romeikes (pictured below) were Kenyan Muslims instead of European Christians, America’s diversity-beguiled government might be more welcoming.
The family was threatened with criminal prosecution in Germany for homeschooling their kids, so the Romeike request for asylum was grounded in genuine danger. European nations take the liberal indoctrination of the young very seriously; for example, Sweden strongly suggests parents hand over their one-year-olds for daycare to raise rather than mom and dad at home.
The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the Obama administration’s refusal to grant asylum to the Romeike family.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder filed against the family, arguing that asylum should not be granted because home schooling isn’t a fundamental right protected under religious freedom.
The Romeikes fled Germany in 2008 facing criminal prosecution for home schooling. In 2010, they were granted political asylum by immigration Judge Lawrence Burman, but his decision was overturned by the Board of Immigration Appeals last year.
On Tuesday, the three-judge panel of the Sixth Circuit issued a unanimous decision against the family.

But do not think that the Obama crowd objects to deportation generally. In fact, Eric Holder’s Justice Department is working to deport a German family pursuing an asylum claim because Germany bars homeschooling.
Eric Holder has taken the position that homeschooling is not a human right regarding asylum, and that policy could affect American parents as well. About two million students are currently homeschooled in the United States, about 2.9 percent of the total. The German family case may signal a crackdown coming from Washington on the freedom of US parents to educate their own children.
Some European nations want every kid put in the state schools to absorb the diversity belief system. Sweden is particularly bad for demanding even little toddlers be immersed in state-approved social attitudes. (See Sweden’s Crackdown on Home Schooling Causes Parents to Flee.)

The family was granted asylum initially, but now the Obama administration is using its powerful resources to deport them.
BERLIN — Recently, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has said that home schooling is not a parent’s right. It is a statement some are saying should frighten American parents.
Nations like Germany and Sweden show that when governments take away home schooling rights, it’s a slippery slope to no parental rights.
America the Refuge or Not
The Romeike family came to the United States from Germany five years ago hoping to find refuge. They wanted to home-school their children in freedom and a federal judge granted them asylum.
But now the Obama administration has been trying to deport them, arguing that home schooling is not a right. The case is currently before a federal appeals court.
Uwe and Hannelore Romeike began home schooling in Germany because they didn’t want their children exposed to things like witchcraft and graphic sex education that are taught in German schools.
“There were stories where [school children] were encouraged to ask the devil for help instead of God and actually the devil would help (in the story),” Uwe said.
“When we found out what’s in the textbooks, it’s exactly the opposite from what the Bible tells us and teaches us, and we wanted to protect [our children],” his wife Hannelore added.
But home schooling is illegal in Germany, except in rare cases. And many home schooling parents are persecuted with fines, jail, or the loss of their children. Continue reading this article
It’s interesting that in France, a strong movement opposing Muslim immigration has developed among young French people. Perhaps the schools there have not become diversity ideology indoctrination centers to the extent they have in America. Citizens concerned with preserving French culture exist among all age groups, of course, but the presence of young folks is hopeful for the future.
Certainly everyone can easily see the effects of Islamic hostility in society, from no-go zones to street riots at times lasting weeks as happened in the civil unrest of 2005.
PARIS – It was a political protest with shock value, the likes of which has never been seen on French TV news: a group of young people stormed a mosque in the city of Portiers, going to the roof and unfurling a banner calling for a national referendum on Muslim immigration.
The banner included the number 732, the year Charles Martel defeated the Islamic invasion in Portiers.
The group calls itself Generation Identitaire, or Generation Identity. They say they are at war with “the 68′ers,” the baby boomers who run France, for wrecking their future with multicultural policies that some fear are turning France into a Muslim nation.
In the video, members say, “We are Generation Identitaire. We are the generation of ethnic fracture, the total failure of coexistence, and the forced mixing of races. We have stopped believing in a ‘Global Village’ and the ‘Family of Man.’”
Their rhetoric sounds racist, but they say they do not believe in racial superiority or racial stereotypes. Rather, they fear losing France to Muslim immigrants from Africa.
CBN News interviewed a leader of the group, Julien Langella, in the southern French city of Toulon.
“It’s not about hate of other people,” Langella insisted. “It’s about heritage. It’s about loving our people and our land. And we fight for this.”
Groups like Generation Identitaire are symptoms of a nation that is coming unglued. They are an unintended but a predictable by-product of a failed multiculturalism that, instead of creating a melting pot, has created ethnic tribalism and dangerous “no-go zones.” Continue reading this article
On Saturday, hundreds of traditional French citizens marched against the millions of Muslim immigrants who refuse to assimilate to Western civilization. The French said they did not want to submit to totalitarian Islamic sharia law.
The pro-diversity French press was uninterested, however CBN’s Dale Hurd was in Paris to make a report. (I posted about this gathering on Sunday, but Hurd’s details warrant another look.)
A patriotic march for French values and culture, and against radical Islam, was virtually blacked out by France’s politically correct media.
Over the weekend, protestors chanted against Islamic fascism and about the French victory over Arab invaders in 732 A.D. It was the first march of its kind in France.
A broad coalition of groups from across France came together because they feel like they are losing their country to radical Islam, Sharia law, and a politically correct establishment that encourages the spread of Islam.
“Sharia law is slowly being enforced in our country and we want to march here to protest that because our government is doing nothing,” one French demonstrator said. Continue reading this article
The social fabric must be getting pretty frayed in Greece, judging by the police making a big show of gathering up hundreds of illegal aliens. It’s hard to judge from afar, of course, but there are signs that the normal society has been shredded by the financial crisis, and order has come unglued as a result. An early casualty has been the Greeks’ appreciation of diversity.
One indicator: Afghan “refugees” parked in Greece say they wish they’d stayed home. Getting beat up in the street will do that.
ATHENS, Greece — While the Greeks struggle with life amidst a collapsed economy, life for another group in Greece has become dangerous and unbearable: refugees.
Afghan refugees, huddled in their flat in central Athens, told CBN News that coming to Greece was the biggest mistake they ever made.
They called their life in Greece “a nightmare,” and claimed they hide in their home as much as possible to avoid being beaten up in the street.
Worse than Afghanistan If they could, the Afghans said, they would go back to Afghanistan tomorrow.
It appears the only thing worse than being in Greece during the economic crisis is being an immigrant or refugee. The economic collapse has turned many Greeks against outsiders, especially from non-Western nations. [. . .]
When the government doesn’t provide order and protect public safety, vigilante groups arise to fill the void. Two examples from American history are the Vigilance Committees of San Francisco and the Minutemen who kept watch on the Arizona border.
A June 9 report from the BBC (Journey across crisis-hit Greece) included remarks from a man whose cousin was murdered by Afghans.
“We can’t have so many immigrants – we don’t even have jobs ourselves,” he says. “The migrants are in a way the victims of this whole story. But I would blame the government that doesn’t do anything to protect Greeks from the hordes who come here. We’re very scared of them – people say they would take the law into their own hands.”
Would he take the law into his own hands?
“If the state can’t protect me, someone has to. Myself and my family,” he says.
If the government isn’t holding up its end of the social contract by providing public safety, then concerned citizens will look to themselves.
The minister [of public order], Nikos Dendias, defended the mass detentions, saying that a failure to curb a relentless flow of immigrants into Greece would lead the country, which is surviving on foreign loans, to collapse. “Our social fabric is at risk of unraveling,” Mr. Dendias told a private television channel, Skai. “The immigration problem is perhaps even greater than the financial one.”
Funny how the Times can report on excess illegal immigration (“Invasion”!) causing a social breakdown overseas while the paper continues to preach to virtues of mega-diverse immigration at home.
At any rate, the minister’s statement shows the leaders know the social dynamite on their plate and are taking action. Citizens need to believe that their government is willing to protect them.

Greece has long been Europe’s main entry point for illegal immigrants from Asia and Africa seeking a better life in the West. But Greece’s severe economic problems and high unemployment are making the problem worse than ever.

Sweden’s devolution from being a fairly harmless social welfare nation into the nanny state from hell is a cautionary tale of well intentioned liberalism run amok. A major symptom is the government-knows-best attitude regarding education, and the little citizens better shape up if they want to get along. The specific problem with education started in 2010 when law was passed by the Swedish Liberal Party that banned parental freedom to choose homeschooling.
One shocker indication of creeping totalitarianism is the very strong suggestion that one-year-old children be sent to daycare rather than be raised by parents. The government believes that it can do a better job of child rearing than the mom and dad, even of little babies who belong at home.
I’m guessing the kids get a strong dose of diversity propaganda, but the article doesn’t say that exactly. However, force-feeding multiculturalism is hinted by the observation, “They want to get the kids. They want to socialize them in the way they think is appropriate.”
STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Sweden used to be synonymous with freedom and safety. The nation was a haven for political refugees from around the world.
But today, Sweden is creating new political refugees: the home-schooler.
One of the escape routes for home-schoolers from Sweden is by ship, two hours across the Baltic sea to the Åland Islands. It’s a part of Finland where the locals speak Swedish and where parents can home school in freedom.
Sweden’s home-school movement has been crushed by a state apparatus that wants children as young as one year old in daycare, and all children in a classroom with a state-approved curriculum.
“The Swedish government believes that [the] state takes better care of children than parents,” said Jonas Himmelstrand, president of ROHUS, the Swedish Homeschool Association.
“They [the government] are slowly going to more of a police state, where children are more controlled. They have to be in school,” he added.
Freedom in Finland
Himmelstrand and his wife Tamara were threatened with tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of fines for home-schooling. The family slipped quietly out of the country and is beginning a new life in Finland.
“We had many friends tell us, ‘Please get out, we’re worried about you,’” Himmselstrand recalled.
Home-schooling parents Magnus and Cina Wallen-Henriksen worked in the music industry in Stockholm before fleeing to Finland.
“We were afraid to stay. Our children were in danger and our family was in danger,” Cina said.
“The choice [to leave] was quite easy to make,” Magnus added.
Most Swedish home-schoolers don’t make the decision for religious reasons, but because they see the educational and social development home schooling provides.
“We noticed our children are enjoying how they learn at home and in other places,” Cina explained. “Our children developed fast and good, both emotionally and social and intellectual.” Continue reading this article

BRUSSELS and ANTWERP — Brussels is the capital of Europe. But some are now calling it the Muslim capital of Europe.
The graffiti on a building in Belgium says it all: “Welcome to ‘Belgistan.” Muslims are still a minority in Belgium, but in the capital of Brussels, they’re already the largest religious group, comprising one-quarter of the city’s population.
In less than 20 years they’re expected to be the majority.
Sharia4Belgium
The most confrontational Muslim group here is Sharia4Belgium.
Many don’t take the small group seriously. But Sharia4Belgium head Fouad Belkacem, alias Abu Imran, sounded very serious when he told CBN News he expects Muslims to dominate Belgium and the world.
“The Sharia will dominate,” Imran said. “We believe Sharia will be implemented worldwide.” [. . .]
Sharia4Belgium is a public relations nightmare for those Muslim groups that try to play down their ties to radicalism and Sharia law.
Imran was completely open with CBN News, saying Islam and Sharia law are inseparable, and that democracy is evil.
“Sharia is Islam, to be clear,” he said. “There is no difference between Islam and Sharia, it’s just a name.”
“Democracy is the opposite of Sharia and Islam,” he said. “We believe Allah is the legislator. Allah makes the laws. He decides what is allowed and what is forbidden.”
CBN News asked Imran about self-described “democratic Muslims” who are against the extreme parts of Sharia law.

CBN reporter Dale Hurd checks in with Spain to see how Muslim immigration is working out.
Not so well, as it happens. The demographic transformation has been swift and brutal, particularly when combined with the Islamic view that the 700 years of Muslim rule of al Andalus entitles them to move in and take over.
The fear is growing in towns like Salt, where the political takeover by Muslims is within view. A pro-Spain party, Platform for Catalonia, is opposed to the invasion, but the hour is late.
BARCELONA, Spain — Bullfighting is now illegal in the Spanish province of Catalonia. Some arenas have been converted into business spaces.
But Muslims want to turn the most famous arena, the Coliseum, into a giant mosque.
In fact, some cities in Spain now look more like the Middle East. Muslims, who once ruled most of nation, are returning in large numbers.
In the city of Salt, parents have come to pick up their children from school. Muslims already make up 40 percent of city residents and will soon be the majority.
But the city government has pushed back, placing a one-year hold on a large mosque project funded by radical Wahhabis in Saudi Arabia.
For good measure, someone cursed the ground at the building site with a pig head that was still there when CBN News arrived. Islamic law forbids the building of a mosque on ground soiled by pigs.
But the number of Muslims in Salt is increasing so rapidly, it is now only a matter of time before Muslims will be running the city.
“When the first Muslim political party presents itself, all the Muslims will vote for it, and we’ll all end up wearing headscarves. We’re in a really big problem,” Salt city councilwoman Maria Osuna told CBN News.
Immigration or Invasion?
In the 7th century, Muslim armies conquered most of Spain, calling it Al-Andulus. They would not be completely expelled for 700 years, the year Columbus discovered the new world.
Now Muslims are returning, and polls suggest they are not returning to be Spaniards. A Pew survey found that 7 out of 10 Muslims in Spain think of themselves as Muslim rather than Spaniards.
“Plataforma x Catalunya,” or Platform for Catalonia, was the first political party to take the Muslim surge seriously. But in politically correct Spain, which celebrated the 1,300-year anniversary of the Muslim invasion as a good thing, Platform for Catalonia is denounced as racist and xenophobic. Muslim immigration to the West has brought an assortment of barbaric social practices we could well do without, particularly crimes against women. The worst is the murder of insufficiently subservient women (aka honor killing), a practice which is accepted in Islamic nations, but not so much in America and Europe.

BARCELONA, LONDON, and PARIS – As Muslims migrate to the West, and more Muslim young people adopt Western ways, honor violence is increasing.

• A Canadian woman was strangled by her father because she refused to wear a headscarf.
• An Italian had her throat slit by her dad while she was held down by three uncles.
• An American woman was run over by her father in his Jeep Cherokee.
• Two sisters were shot by their father in a New York taxi.
They were all the victims of honor violence. They may have defied the wishes of their parents, or adopted Western ways, or tried to leave Islam.
They did something that, in the eyes of their families, brought shame and dishonor.
So they were killed. Many were tortured first.
Honor Killing on the Rise
The precise number of honor attacks worldwide is unknown because many are not reported, or are reported as accidents or suicides. But one new report said 3,000 honor attacks were committed in Britain last year alone.
Norwegian activist Hege Storhaug left journalism to devote her life to helping the victims of honor violence after doing a story about a Norwegian girl who was forced to marry her cousin from Pakistan.
“I was astonished when she said, ‘My parents were willing to kill me if I didn’t enter this marriage, to protect their own honor,” Storhaug said.
Storhaug showed us graphic photos of Pakistani women who had acid thrown in their faces by their husbands’ family because they did not bring a big enough dowry to the marriage. Continue reading this article
Hostile Muslims who support the ideology of planetary jihad must be feeling pretty good these days. A couple of their top guys (Osama & al Awalaki) got whacked, it’s true, but the whole “Arab Spring” charade is going quite well from the pro-caliphate position. A few reformers in Tunisia got the ball rolling and then the Muslim Brotherhood saw their opportunity to move in and take over, following the advice of Rahm Emanuel, to never let a good crisis go to waste.
CBN reporter Dale Hurd recently visited Norway to investigate how the Muslim Brotherhood intends to take over Europe just as it is doing in the Middle East.
Hurd’s video report includes clips from the Norwegian documentary Freedom, equality and the Muslim Brotherhood. The film has not been shown on US television, but thanks to the wonders of technology, it is available on the internet, below. One memorable scene was where a self-identified human rights activist in Yemen agreed with sharia that any Muslim who converts to another religion should be executed. Nice!
Not only does the Muslim Brotherhood have a plan to overwhelm Europe with Islamic demography, it has a similar blueprint for the destruction of America, using immigration and deception to defeat the despised infidels. Every member of Congress should watch the Norwegian film and reconsider the policy of admitting Muslims as immigrants to this country. There is NO upside and the danger is real, no matter how many times diversity is invoked.

OSLO, Norway – The so-called Arab Spring has brought the Muslim Brotherhood to the threshold of power and influence in the Middle East.
But a Norwegian television documentary, called “Freedom, Equality and the Muslim Brotherhood,” is unmasking the Muslim Brotherhood’s plans for world domination.
Walid al-Kubaisi, an Iraqi-born Norwegian journalist, produced and hosted the documentary for Norway television. It has never been shown on American TV.
World Domination
Al-Kubaisi said Brotherhood leaders told him they have a plan to take over Norway and the rest of Europe as a part of bringing the whole world under Islam.
“The Muslim Brotherhood has a practice. The have learned to speak with two tongues,” he told CBN News.
Kamil al-Najjar, one of the film’s subjects, left the Muslim Brotherhood and consequently is under threat of death.
“They’re trying to deceive the people,” al-Najjar tells al-Kubaisi in the film. “They have managed to deceive a lot of Western politicians into believing them.”
“Their only aim is to control the world with Islam,” he said. “They know they cannot use force to convert the West, so they use deceit.”
However, Muslim Brotherhood leaders are quite open about their intentions with those like al-Kubaisi, who traveled to the Middle East and speaks fluent Arabic.
“The Muslim Brotherhood’s dream is to form a total Islamic state,” Muhammed Mahdi Akef, who was the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood until 2010, told al-Kubaisi.
“Where?” al-Kubaisi asked.
“I don’t know,” Akef replied. “We Muslims are currently scattered all over. There is still a long way to go before we are able to take control in Europe. It will take a long time before it can happen.”
Religion of Bondage
Al-Kubaisi also interviewed Gamal al-Banna, the brother of Hassan al-Banna, the man who founded of the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928.
Al-Banna had surprisingly harsh words for the modern Muslims Brotherhood movement, saying it does not believe in freedom “in any way.”

The excellent CBN report below is curiously misnamed “Norway Tackles Muslim Immigration.”
But there is precious little “tackling” going on. A handful of Norwegian women are speaking out about the danger to women’s rights and safety from Islamic culture, but they are condemned by the majority liberal society for saying unkind things about Muslims. Meanwhile blonde Norwegian women dye their hair black and travel in groups for safety.
One of the outspoken women interviewed by Dale Hurd is Hege Storhaug, about whom I blogged earlier this summer. She could probably be called a recovering liberal, given her contact with Muslim behavior which unravelled her faith in multiculturalism.
Once again, CBN leads the way among broadcasters for fearlessly telling the truth about Islam and the effects of hostile Muslims in Western societies. This brief piece is far superior to the recent special on honor killing on Fox which completely avoided the subject of Islamic misogyny.
We in America would be wise to observe carefully the failed European experience with Muslim immigration. As Dutch political leader Geert Wilders has said, “Islamism and democracy are incompatible. The more Islam we have, the more freedom we will lose.”
America needs to stop Muslim immigration before it’s too late.
OSLO, Norway — It’s been almost a month since innocent Norwegians were killed by a lunatic obsessed with the threat of Islam.
But the terrible tragedy has not stopped civil debate in Norway over the impact of Muslim immigration.
Several weeks before the massacre in Norway, CBN News travelled to Oslo to investigate reports that that nation’s experiment with Muslim immigration and multiculturalism had gone terribly wrong, that Muslim radicalism was growing along with violence and intimidation against non-Muslims.
Islamists Target Women In the wake of the killings, some on Norway’s political left call the fear of Islamization a “conspiracy theory.”
However, there are real victims – and they are mostly Norway’s women. Norway has never faced such problems before.
Even though Norway is a democracy, some Norwegian women do not have full rights. They are denied them by their families, and they live in fear for their lives.
At the Red Cross office in Oslo, Monica Berge-Tukh and Anne Marte Stifjeld take calls from Norwegian girls who face honor violence, forced marriage or genital mutilation.
“We get calls from girls and we really get a bad feeling in our stomach that something is seriously wrong,” Berge-Tukh told CBN News. “Most of the girls tell us ‘I never thought about it’ or ‘I never thought it would happen because I live in Norway.’ ”
They not only live in Norway but were born in Norway and speak Norwegian. Still, their rights are not protected and they are controlled by their families.
“A lot of them have been threatened and beaten,” Berge-Tukh explained. “They tell us about a lot of social control, so when they become like 10 or 12 years old (their family members) start following her to school just to control that she is not having any contact with boys because ‘good girls don’t do that.’”
An Eye-Opening Encounter Hege Storhaug was a self-described “naïve left-wing journalist” when an encounter with an immigrant woman changed her life and her career. ”In 1992, as a journalist, I met a young Norwegian born Pakistani woman, only 18 years old. And she had been married at gunpoint in Pakistan to her second cousin,” Storhaug recalled.
“I was so shocked when she said ‘My parents were willing to kill me if I didn’t enter into this marriage, to protect their own honor,’” she said.
Storhaug now works full-time to protect immigrant women and girls from forced marriage, genital mutilation and honor violence.
Women, she says, have been abandoned by the Norwegian government and deprived of their rights as citizens – like four Norwegian girls all sent to Gambia for genital mutilation.
“Their parents just dumped them in Gambia, their country of origin where the girls, ages 3-9, were all genitally mutilated,” Storhaug told CBN News. “They have been stripped of the possibility to become a full member of this society, and we have allowed it, we have allowed it.”
Storhaug, who works on behalf of the rights of women, has been called a “racist” and “Islamophobe” by the some on the left in Norway.
Rape Epidemic Something else that Muslim immigration appears to have brought to Norway is what some here call “a rape epidemic.”
Recent police statistics showed that in the capital city of Oslo, 100 percent of assault rapes between strangers were committed by immigrant, non-Western males. And nine out of 10 of their victims were native Norwegian women.
To protect themselves, some blonde Norwegian women have reportedly begun dying their hair black, and many travel only in groups. Continue reading this article
It would be a mistake to consider European mosques as entirely religious edifices. As Lars Hedegaard says, they are more like “barracks,” designed to be centers of Islamic cultural and political influence.
Many mosques are funded by the Turkish government, which appears to have deep pockets for such projects. Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan has made clear when visiting his colonists residing in Germany that Turks in Europe should not assimilate to Western values, but remain loyal to Islam and their homeland.
Demography is destiny. Ending Muslim immigration to America would be the wise and prudent policy choice for national security and cultural harmony. We would do well to see how disastrous Muslim immigration has been for Europe. The national leaders of Britain, France and Germany have condemned multiculturalism as a huge failure, which has been a big change from earlier official support for diversity.
While the idea of Muslims taking over Rome as prophesied by the Prophet Mohammed may seem far-fetched, the historically Christian capital of Italy is now the site of the largest mosque in Europe.
Moschea di Roma, or the Great Mosque of Rome, is able to accommodate 12,000 worshippers and is a powerful symbol for Italy’s fast-growing Muslim population.
Large mosques have been built or are on the drawing board in virtually every major city in Europe.
The skyline of Cologne, Germany, has been dominated for centuries by its famous cathedral, the largest Gothic church in northern Europe. But soon the church will share the skyline with the 150-foot tall minarets of the Cologne mosque, now under construction.
The Muslim worship facility, which is being funded by the government of Turkey, is opposed by groups who see it as a piece of Turkish territory in the heart of Germany.
“This mosque is a symbol of political power. It’s a symbol of Islamization in the center of Europe, and especially this mosque in Cologne-Ehrenfeld,” Pro-Köln organizer Manfred Rouhs told CBN News.
In fact, many of the large mosque projects in Europe are funded by the Turkish government. Some are being financed by the Saudis, and some, like the one planned for Copenhagen, are being built with money from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. Continue reading this article
